Question: Is it normal to have facial swelling three months after wisdom teeth surgery? How can I reduce swelling? About 3 months ago, I had my impacted wisdom teeth out, as well as a dental implant put in, during the same surgery. The strange thing is that the facial swelling went away after a week, which was expected, but it came back! I'm not sure exactly when, maybe a week or two after it went away. Now it's almost 3 months after the operation and my face is still noticeably swollen. I talked to my dentist about it, who at first didn't see me but just phoned in a prescription for an antibiotic (he thought it must have been an infection) which I took, but which didn't help. After an appointment with him, he said he was confused because there was no sign of infection at all, and that he wasn't sure why I had the swelling. Later, I saw another dentist who said that the swelling was normal and that I just had to wait for it to go away. I'm confused... Is it really normal to have swelling 3 months after wisdom teeth surgery? Could it be something else? Is there a way to reduce the swelling?

Answer: No, it's not normal! Go back to your dentist and get x-rayed. If he again says it's nothing, go to your doctor. Something is clearly wrong that is causing the area to be inflamed (the swelling).

Question: Are there any problems in the long run if you get cheek implants (trying to get Facial Feminization Surgery)? I heard that if you get cheek implants, when you get old your cheeks wills sink in and then the implants will show... or something like that.. idk is it true?

Answer: It is somewhat true. As we age our skin does get thinner. Whether it's enough to really cause a problem I don't know. My surgeon didn't like using cheek implants and so I don't have them. His philosophy was that in most cases cheek implants weren't necessary. He feels that if you reduce all the male marker in the face your cheeks will naturally look more prominent. A wildcard in all this is HRT. We are on HRT for life so our hormone levels remain more or less constant. A lot of skin thinning in non-transsexual people is due to dropping hormone levels. So in theory, as long as your doctor doesn't slash your dosage at some point, your skin should keep a healthy appearance longer than our natal counterparts. I wish I had a more concrete answer for you, but there just isn't one to be had at this time.

Question: when i have cataract surgery with a monofocal lense implant how do i keep my face clean? i am worried about being able to shower from head to toe after this surgery and how can i prevent getting soap and water in the surgical eye? i will be taking antibiotic drops but i need to clean my face and also can i use facial cream and eye cream around my eyes? thank you all for your much needed advice!

Answer: while in the shower do not put your face in the water. lean back to rinse out your hair so the water doesn't touch your face much. to wash your face just take a wet wash cloth and wipe your face. do not try to use soap on your face to clean it. there should be no real reason to use soap just use a wet wash cloth. you only have to avoid putting your face in the water for a few days so its not like its a really long time. DON'T put cream on your face or your eyes for a few days. the recovery process really isn't that long and you should be more concerned about your eye healing correctly and less concerned about your beauty routine.

Question: How much does it cost to remove facial implants? I had some cosmetic surgery a few years back where I had some jaw implants put in my face. Now I'd like them removed which should be quite easy under local anesthesia. The doctor's office won't tell me how much it will cost until I have a consultation. Answer: This is a mixed issue with me. My mother told me that God made everyone the way they were supposed to be made, and that you don't mess with that. Even so, I'm self-conscious and think about getting plastic surgery often. I guess it's just up to the individual and what she feels is best for her.

Question: Can plastic surgery really make you look younger? What other products can? How much can plastic surgery really do? Nosejobs and facial implants just CHANGE the way you look. Answer: it probably can but there is nothing better that having none done, because then you would have to worry about side effects and other stuff..so instead just use some products for aging skin. Example, olay age refiner, aveeno or avon products.. try something else besides surgery..

Question: Anyone gotton facial implants? I've always been self-concious about my jaw and chin; they're practically non-existent and look completely out of balance with the upper half of my face. After some serious consideration, I've decided I think I'm ready to get plastic surgery and "fix" it. However, I really don't like the idea of getting plastic surgery! Getting cut open, the blood, the healing... eww. Before I take the plunge, is there anything "natural" left I can do to increase my jaw and chin size? Answer: hi, although i have not had facial enhancements I have had breast augmentation and lip injections. I will tell you to make sure you know what your getting into before going through with the surgery, there are a number of people that will finance your surgery, and you will need someone to care after you for about a week or so after surgery. Dont listen to people tell you NOT to do it becuz its not natural. the honest truth is alot of ppl only wish they could go through with enhancing surgery. If you get a really good surgeon like i did, you will have amazing and very totally natural results. It cost about 50 to 100 dollars for you to go and talk with a surgeon about your surgery and what you would like to enhance. each surgeon will have there own opinions on what they think would work for you the best. I went to 2 different surgeons before I decided which surgeon I liked the best. You need to make sure the surgeon you choose actually LISTENS to you and what YOU want. this is very important becuz its YOUR FACE. please do your research and go with your heart. Answer: I have had reconstructive plastic surgery only... But the scars take years to get the feeling back! My Aunty got chest implants...hugging her hurts my own jub jubs! they are hard like rock and are not pleasant to hug....
