Question: glycolic peel? i have scars from acne and my skin is blotchy. will glycolic peel help get rid of scars? what are some affordable peels i can get from drug stores?
Answer: sometimes glycolic peels can make your skin blotchier. Research Microdermabrasion. You should consult a dermatologist to be on the safe side.
Question: Glycolic Peel? I'm getting a glycolic peel on Monday, any advice, or anything you think I should know?
Answer: I tried it and wasn't impressed. I liked getting micro- dermabrasion better.
However, like any facial process, be prepared to go "bare faced" for at least 24 hours afterward. Plus, your skin will be really red for about 24 hours afterward, too.
Question: Glycolic peel? What percent is the L'OREAL glycolic peel?
Is there a home peel that is stronger? I'm scared of buying something online and getting something that could do damage because it is not pure.
Answer: Read up on chemical peels by visiting the source below.
Question: How Often Should I Get a Glycolic Peel? I am going to start getting a facial once a month, but I'm also interested in getting a glycolic peel from time to time. How often should I get a glycolic peel if I'm having a basic facial once a month?
Answer: only do them once a month. i do them once a month to remove the dead skin cells from the top of layer of skin around my face. if you do them more than just once a month, it can seriously damage and irritate your deep skin layers. try to get them professionally done so that you have the right amount of glycolic in the serum. hope this helps you :]
Question: How do you get a glycolic peel at home? I am an indian,i live in kolkata,i was wondering if anyone could suggest me a way of getting a glycolic peel at home? anyone know of any product that can be found in india? or any natural way of peeling your skin so that new skin comes out? my skin has a lot of spots,i feel too conscious ,i use makeup but i would like to have good skin.
i started using retino-a 0.05% ,does it work?
Answer: Retino-a does work. It will be a slower process depending on your personal skin type and sensitivity, there are several different strengths. You can buy all kinds of peels on e-bay. Be careful, many of these are professional salon strengths. I have purchased them myself.
Question: Would a glycolic peel help me with my blackheads? I have a lot of blackheads on my face and I use an apricot scrub every two days but they just don't seem to go away. I would like to get a glycolic peel but I would only like one. Has anyone gotten an glycolic peel before and how much does it cost ?
Answer: At makeupartistschoice.com they have many peels that have quite a bit in them for only around $20-30 depending on the one you buy.
If you have sensative skin get the lactic acid, but if you just want all the acne gone, get a TCA peel. They are very strong so be careful.
Hope this helps!
Question: using a glycolic peel and retinol cream? I use an over the counter retinol cream 30% regularly and just did my first glycolic peel 35% last night. Outside of a little bit of stinging and some pinkness during the peel, I have no lasting irritation. My question is: Can I continue to use my retinol cream in those wrinkly places on my face while doing weekly glycolic peels?
Thank you for your help.
Answer: Be careful. That sounds like a lot of harsh stuff on your face. I would cut back on one or the other. You could certainly get a serious sunburn if you get any sun while using so much of those products.
Question: Can you do a glycolic peel on psoriasis? Can you do a glycolic peel on psoriasis?
Answer: Theoretically, it wouldn't be a wise thing to do, because of the risk of the Koebner phenomenon, in which, after the skin of a patient with psoriasis is damaged or injured, it would heal up with psoriasis. Different strengths of glycolic acid would produce different amounts of damage, so, certainly if a peel were to be done, it'd be best to stick with a very weak one.
Question: What would be better for my acne and acne scars Microdermabrasion or Glycolic peel or deep pore facial? I was wondering I had severe acne years ago and now mild acne. Ive tried everything under then sun. I was wondering what would happen if I tried microdermabrasion, glycerol peel, or deep pore cleansing facial. However I can only do it once cause its so expensive so which would be most beneficial for my acne and scars?
Answer: You can actually do these peels at home using the same strength as if you were to go to dermatologist.
Chemical peels are a skin-rejuvenating cosmetic procedure popular amongst a wide variety of individuals. From the teenager plagued by acne to the middle-aged adult overwhelmed with wrinkles and photodamage…chemical peels can handle it all!
Chemical peels are a cost-effective, convenient and far-reaching skin-resurfacing method for the treatment of acne. They dissolve the microscopic bond between epidermal cells and stimulate the production of healthy collagen and elastin. Essentially, chemical peels expedite the skin’s natural turnover rate and “injure” the epidermis thereby encouraging cellular renewal.
Glycolic peels are great for improving dry skin, treating age spots, decreasing facial lines, and rejuvenating the skin's surface. Dermatologists and estheticians have been utilizing glycolic acid as an effective and proven tool in the fight against the aging process for decades. Alpha hydoxy acid peels, such as Glycolic help to reveal a younger, healthier looking skin by stimulating collagen and elastin growth, and accelerating the skin renewal process. Additionally, Glycolic Acid can be combined with other peeling agents, such as Salicylic Acid (this process is referred to as an Alpha-Beta Peel) for enhanced results.
If you aren't sure what strength to use I recommend check out this blog www.naturalskinshop.blogspot.com they have several post on how to pick the correct strength for your skin.

Question: Does anyone know how to make a homemade glycolic peel? I know that they usually involve ingredients that people don't necessarily have at home or even ones that aren't sold in your average grocery store but my friends and I were wondering how to make one at home.
Answer: I don't know that you can make Glycolic at home. I buy my Glycolic acid on E-Bay. Just check the sellers feedback and see what other people are saying about it, contact other people who bought from the seller and see how they felt about the product they bought. Also, know the more you pay, the better it is going to be. I would never pay under $10 for it. Good luck!

Question: After how many sittings this glycolic peel effect will be seen? So, I got my first one done on Monday, my skin looks red and i can see few more pimples/zits/acne, guess its clearing up now.
My friends say they can notice some change but I can not.
My scars look more red, earlier they looked brown.
So, is this pel doing the job?
Also, I do not want to put on nay sunscreen, what can I do?
Answer: It depends on the strength the Spa used on your face. It may not show any more than what is apparent today. Glycolic should work from deep down and then up through the skin. It will take several applications to really see the results. It strengthens the cells and makes it better as the skin grow outward. Surface flaking and redness are common. You may want to think about a home peel kit to do it yourself. You can then adjust the strength to your tolerance and times applied. Try http://www.beautyskincare.com

Answer: Microdermabrasion is just that...Sanding down the skin. We love the effects of Glycolic acid. It works from the inside out and helps create healthy skin.http://www.doctorsecret.com The result will be smaller pores. Sanding your face may clog more pores and make them larger.
