Question: Breast implant? I was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 years ago, had a mastectomy on my left breast and then later after chemo I had breast reconstruction done with a silicone breast implant. Has anyone ever experience itching inside the implanted breast? I get itchy inside the implant and can't feel the skin on the outside...It's weird! What does this mean?

Answer: I'm in the same boat. I had a mastectomy with reconstruction with silicone implant just about a year ago. Some times it itches like crazy and it's sooo weird because the skin has no feeling!! My plastic surgeon and breast surgeon have both told me it's normal and can just be due to stretching and scar tissue

Answer: I have breast implants (i just got them 2 weeks ago... i love them!) It shouldn't have any effects... but if you do get them have them under the muscle so that way you know for a fact you can breast feed. But I recommend you to wait after you have the baby... why?! Its going to take you the most 4 months to get use to them and its not like really really pain full but you wouldn't want to deal with your implants and your belly. Trust me you wont. Plus your boobs are going to look really good that maybe after you breastfeed they wont any more. Why don't you wait till you breast feed your baby and after your done you can get them done.?! I think that's a good idea. Make sure you do a lot of research with the doctor your going with.

Question: What kind of breast implant should i get and how? i am planning to get breast implants and i am not sure what kind of saline should i get. rain drop or round? i breast fed my son and i know that if you have little tissue saline will show ripples when you bend over. i also know that if you have enough tissue to cover the implant that the ripples will not show. so how do i know if i have enough breast tissue?

Question: How long does it take that scars from breast implant surgery heal? Hi, I plan to have breast implant and the only thing I worry for is scars. Do they stay very long time? Is it too bad that you can hardly go topless at beach? On my consultation day the doctor also told me that he can make my boobs perfect if he cuts abit around my nipple to lift it and make my nipples abit smaller but I fear if I will always have scars on my nipples. I want very big implants and doctor told me if I use very big ones it is going to make my nipples too big which will be ugly so he told me that I will need to cut some part of my nipples too Can anybody say how long does it take that scars heal?

Answer: if your wounds usually heal with leaving a white line behind then your scars will fade away in 6-8 weeks, but if your previous wounds have stayed for so long and a brown thick line remains after all then your wound would never go away and you can never go topless even alone in front of a mirror..anyway manipulating your nipples will have them lose their sense which is certainly something you dont like...remember Tara Reid's nip case? she even couldnt feel the dress on her nips.

Question: When do we know the saline filled breast implant ruptured? It's kinda an embarrasing question to ask , but when do we know that the breast implant you have saline filled specifically deflated or ruptured?

Answer: I would've thought distortion of the architecture. I'd also imagine you would have a tingling sensation due to the salinity.

Question: Can a woman with breast implant breastfeed her baby? Just curious if a woman with breast implant (silicon) can still produce milk since the silicon is in there.

Answer: Yes, the silicone is usually put behind the muscle so it doesn't interfere with your breast milk production or dispersing it to the baby.

Answer: Let me see if I have this right; you want to make a computer mouse that feels like a fake boob? If that's the case then the only thing I can think of is to get some girl to make you a cast of her boob to make a mold out of then fill the mold with silicon calk. I know that surgeons can't recommend a size to breast augmentation patients, but if a patient were to come in with a size in mind Say, 34C, how would the surgeon know how big to make them exactly? "A surgeon has an implant before them, how do they know what its size name is?" Both of these answers so far answer my question, but now a new question has arisen from these answers. They know how much cc's of saline it will take to reach a certain size, but how do they know exactly what a size is named exactly? Say someone starts with a 34AA, and they want an augmentation to a 34C. Do they know the actual measured difference between the two? If so, how do they know? What gauge do they use to measure breasts?

Answer: Actually, the doctor can recommend a size based on the size breasts you already have and the size of your frame and other factors. The implants themselves are measured by cubic centimeters of the fluid in them. Obviously, the more cc's an implant has , the larger the size and the weight. Also, dont go in with a specific size in mind. The doctor should have a bra with pockets in the cups to put in different sized implants so you can "try on " different sizes and get a better idea of what would look best on you, not somebody else in a picture. Also, dont be scared, i had zero pain with mine and was up and about in a couple days.

Answer: All breast implants have the same basic design. Implants are made up of a silicone envelope, with a filling of some kind--usually either saline or silicone gel. Because of this design, all breast implants can develop a tear or hole and leak their contents. Whether the hole or tear is large or small, it's called a rupture. Ruptures can happen simply as implants age, or because of a blow to the chest, such as in a car accident, or a bad fall. This procedure is performed when you have capsular contracture. It involves a doctor squeezing the breast very hard between his or her hands in an attempt to break the scar tissue capsule. Often, the implant as well as the capsule is broken. This procedure is considered dangerous and is no longer recommended.

Question: How can i tell if my breast implant got an infection again? On March 2007 i had breast augmentation done btu on my right breast i got an infection so on august 2007 i had the implant removed and now on october i just had it replaced. its been 3 days and my breat feels tender i dont know if it is because it is swollen or if it might had gotten infected again anybody have an idea what it can be? i see the doctor for a check up on monday but i am very worried and need atleast an opinion before that.

Answer: Fever would be a tell-tale sign so look for any increase above normal (98.6). Also redness or heat from the area as well as body aches/chills may be present in infection. Are you on oral antibiotics?

Answer: No. My mother had implants for over 20 years before she had them upgraded. I have had mine for roughly 6 years without an issue.

I hear that they are practically unbreakable, but with all the horror stories I tend to get paranoid about them busting. Answer: Try surgeons? in any hospital such as tan tock seng? or maybe even changi general hospital, but do give them a ring to make sure and so you don't make a wasted trip!

Question: what would a 34a look like with a 400cc silicone breast implant? I am going in for breast implant surgery and can not decide between 375cc or 400cc silicone gel implants.

Answer: Depends on the profile, are you talking the high profile, then you are looking at a D to DD, much too big. If it is moderate or low, you might be able to get away with the 400. I was a 32A and got 325cc of silicone at high profile to be a C. If I went any bigger, they probably would look too fake. Now, they look very natural.

Question: Is it safe to get breast implant outside of the US? Hello i am planning to get breast implants in Venezuela because its cheaper and my cousin got them there done but i am scared. and i am worried.. Is it safe or isn't?

Answer: Venezuela is safer than, let us say...Mexico, but it still is not safe. Besides, if you are a C or higher you will not need them.
