Female Genital Surgery
Surgery to reshape the labia for increased confidence and enhanced sexual experiences; also called "labiaplasty"
Question: female genital surgery: good or bad? Why are there female genital surgeries? are they good or bad? would you be kind enough to type your reasonings behind your opinion?
Answer: For the most part female genital surgeries are good to a point, depending on the reason. If a woman has genital warts (Herpes) for some time she will need surgery to get her genitals back to where they look like genitals again. Follow the link below, WARNING VERY GRAPHIC. Do you think anyone want anything to do with her without surgery to hide this nasty virus?

Question: Female to male genital surgery? Is it possible to surgically have a vagina reconstructed into a "full functioning" penis? Like being able to use the penis like a normal male would in everyday things like simple urination and sex? If so how is it done?
Answer: Short answer: no
Long answer: more or less.
To quote some doctor, "It's easier to dig a hole than to build a pole." Look up metatodioplasty and phalloplasty. Both are usually rather disappointing compared to the real deal, but they are about the only options right now. Results range from satisfactory to God-awful, depending on your surgeon and luck. With a Meta, you can get hard on your own, but considering the resulting small size, good luck trying to penetrate anything enough for anybody to notice. With a phalloplasty, you've got to pump it up to get hard, but you can get those puppies as big as you want 'em - although restraint is advised, to avoid frightening potential partners, and also because they don't "grow" much, and you might end up looking like you've got a melon in your pants. And, with a phalloplasty, there's no guarantee that you'll have sensation in it. With both procedures, the urethra can be re-routed through the new penis.
Good news for the patient - they're coming a very long way with growing penises in a lab! Seriously - look it up. Maybe in 10 or 20 years.... sigh. I want mine NOW.
Question: how much "feeling" do transsexuals have after the genital surgery? I was just watching a documentary about a male-to-female transsexual and they said that the sexual feeling can be bigger than in natural female genitals, that they can be more sensitive. really? so they can have normal orgasms? and is it the same for female-to-male transsexuals too?
so their life in bedrooms isnt different than our life? they can have a pleasurable intercourse just like anyone else?
Answer: yes pretty much excatly the same for male to females in fact genetic females as a group are like approx 75%orgasmic where the male to female group is approx 94%orgasmic so evidence points to it also being more common for the transsexual feamle to orgaasm
Question: Genital cutting and genital plastic surgery? Both require cutting to the female genitals. Women are told that the genital cutting will make them more valued to their husband and so it is considered a cultural practice. This is illegal in North America. With the plastic surgery women in North America have internalized the idea that their genitalia is not attractive enough and are thus coerced into doing this despite the fact they believe they are making this decision on their own. The same goes with breast enlargement. All these procedures damage the nerve tissue and may cause complete loss of any sexual pleasure. Why is one legal and one not?
Society is in fact coercing women into having their breasts enlargement by sexualling breasts and making it seem that you can only be valuable or attractive if you have large ones. Why can't a woman be happy about what she looks like if she is flat chested?? That is absurd.
Answer: I agree that it's all pretty absurd and inconsistent. But so-called freedom often is. And that's where it gets tricky. Why do we allow West coast kids to mutilate themselves with hooks and soldering irons but not have "cosmetic" amputation done? There are certainly some of them that are crapheaded enough to want to be the first dork on the block with some missing fingers.
There's lot's more examples, but you get the idea.
And yeah, fake boobs are awful. But getting them is just one of the many absurdities humans are driven to through cultural manipulation, and women are definitely more likely to be victimized by it. Nose jobs. Tummy tucks. Liposuction. Shaving, waxing and plucking everything in sight. Accepting emaciated bleach-blond bags of bones as the feminine ideal. Being afraid to even go up to the corner store without painting the face first.
It sucks, ladies. I think you all should just quit falling for it, and shelling out billions to people guilty of the worst kind of financial predation - one that depends on making you unhappy with the way you are. Oh, I'm not saying that a woman shouldn't try to stay in decent shape, but beyond that, a man that won't accept you the way you are isn't worth your time in the first place.
Question: when a man has sex change surgery can he be penetrated? weird question I know but I was just wandering.I saw an article on female genital surgery for men and it showed how the man went from having a penis to having what looked like a proper vagine.Obviously he would still have the internal reproductive system of a male but do they just shape the putside to give the appearance of the vagina,or do they make a tube shape inside the man for penetration? ALso when women get it done does their "penis" become erect? Thanks xxx
And no I am not a she male! I am fully female
most sex change people are not gay so that category would not be appropriate.Come on some one must know!
wow I've learnt something new today
Answer: I have 2 friends who have had full gender re-assignment....yes they can have full sex as the women they have become.
(They turn the penis into a hollow tube and push it up inside when making the vigina).
Not sure about the Femail to male question though...hav'nt met anyone who's had this done...yet!)
Question: male to female on passport etc? Does male to female genital surgery automatically change what gender you put on paperwork like passport, driver's licence etc?
Answer: Automatically? No, you have to send them the proof of the change and then they will change it. You can get a new birth certificate, driver's license, passport, diploma - anything with legal ramifications changed once you have completed the transformation 100%.
Question: Male to female surgery does it look realistic? I have been doing a little thinking here and their and have thought about going from male to female. I have a few questions though..
Will my new genitals look realistic?
Will I be able to have penetrative sex with a man?
Will people be able to tell? I already have quite feminine features?
Thanks in advanced ! :D
Answer: Let me dispel some of the rumors here. I know of several happily married transwomen, as well as transmen (which by the way is the polite way of referring to transgendered people- "trannie" is a derogatory term, so I implore you not to use it). Surgery for MtF is very convincing. Unfortunately, for FtM the results aren't nearly as good, but it does allow one to live out the life that they were meant to live.
Yes, the new genitals are very realistic and function just like any other woman's. Doctors can't usually even tell-- I can speak from personal experience. Transwomen are essentially the same as cis-women who have had a hysterectomy.
As far as if people can tell if you are an MtF- actually a lot depends on attitude. If you act as though you have something to hide, then people look harder for things about you. Most features which denote gender are usually quite subtle and there is a large overlap of what is considered normal for males and females when it comes to features.
Before you can even consider transitioning, talk with a gender therapist. This is the first step in the long process of transitioning.
Best of luck.
Question: HOW does circumcision woman, gets a surgery to undo it? I am cirsumcised woman by culture and i want know if there is any surgery or anything that can be done to undo the cirsumcised or also know as female genital mutilation/cutting.
PLEASE ANSWERS THANK YOU

Answer: You should find a plastic surgeon who specializes in female genitalia.
Question: Asymmetric normal female genitals vs designer vulvas? It has come to my attention through the media that a lot of women nowadays are undergoing Labia reduction, Labiaplasty etc to attain perfect looking genitals.
I cannot quite conceive this since I myself prefer women with normal asymmetric or protruding genitals.
I've discussed this with a lot of my friends and most of them prefer normal bits like I do.
So why then do women go for this?
Do guys out there prefer those symmetric artificial looking female genitals?
Are you ladies trying to impress men?
Its totally cool if grown women went out and did this for whatever personal reasons they had and i couldnt have cared less about this but what caught my attention is very young girls being paranoid about their vulvas and undergoing a great deal of mental suffering regarding this issue.
I saw this tv documentary called The Perfect Vagina. It was a British production. They were just investigating the whole Genital plastic surgery thing. They showed a girl there she was in her late teens and she was trying to get a labia reduction and she happened to be a fairly attractive young woman. After seeing her genital organ I was at a total loss to understand what was wrong with it. She said she hated the way it looked and was embarassed by it and that her sister along with some of her friends were making fun of this girl and were making references to Ham slices.
You also come across a plethora of 14-15 year old girls in those health forums who post that they have "Ugly" or "Huge" bits and they're afraid to have sex. That the "bf" might laugh. Whether he'll reject her...that she's depressed and how much does Labia reduction surgery cost etc etc.
Now I don't normaly care about stuff like this. i'm in my early twenties and I have a load of other interests and engagements to keep my mind occupied.
Unfortunately the rational and compassionate side of me grieves over these girls. If I had a sister like that I wouldn't want her to be suffering in that manner over some dumb issue.(Which I'm sure most of the cases are)
So I'm just wondering....what caused this? Is it the premature sex they engage in? Should we discourage it more?.....How can you as women and adults help them? The irony is that in some cases like the girl in the documentary as well as girls who havn't yet exposed themselves to a guy yet - are affected by other GIRLS taunting them and instilling fear and insecurities. I mean what do these girls even compare their vulvas to? In that documentary that girl eventually goes through with the surgery. After the surgery I clearly saw the fear and agony she was experiencing and clearly she hadn't thought twice about the post operative complications.....She was even scared that it was bleeding etc which is something you should expect.
This is a very pathetic situation...It would gratify me if these young girls were appeased. Feminists you can do something worthwhile for a change
Answer: I've seen the main theory behind this being porn and other pics you see tend to have tucked in labia which have often had labiaplasty...so girls think normal, longer labia are disgusting. Add that to a few immature guys who don't understand labia, say they're yuck and think that means a loose vagina (yes, I've seen that on this site and others), and you get girls very concerned about their self-esteem. Though I've been told by more mature guys that those really tucked in ones look fake! I see a bunch of questions on long/uneven labia and always try to reassure the girls that they are normal. It's sad if friends are mocking girls! I don't compare labia with friends, don't have a clue what they're like nor do they know that about mine...but if I did I would be supportive...that's weird people tell their friends though. Oh yeah and not all natural ones are asymmetrical lol, sometimes teens grow out of it when one grows faster than the other but then it catches up
The surgery is not recommended by gynaecologists: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,241…
And a lot of people like longer labia: http://www.sexylabia.com

Question: What is an Austrailian, when relating to female genitalia? I was watching a show, Starter Wife, starring Debra Messing. During the show, the characters kept mentioning getting an "Austrailian" as though it were the new "Brazilian". I wasn't sure if it was a wax job or a surgery. Would anyone be kind enough to enlighten me.
Thank you.
Answer: Oral sex. When a guy goes down on a girl and licks her out. Apparently, its supposed to feel really good!
Question: Should parents be allowed to perform cosmetic surgery on children without their consent? I am referring to a varitey of procedures:
1) Male Circumcision
2) Female Circumcision/ genital mutilation
3) The "fixing" of intersexed babies
4) Foot binding or over-corseting of girls
To a lesser extent:
5) Piercings and, hypothetically, tattoos
6) Forcing them to use tanning beds
Ideas? Are some body modifications acceptable, but not others? Where do you draw the line?
Answer: Now the thorny question of what is defined as "cosmetic surgery" arises. Its not that simple. I was in Germany many years ago and my friends observed a boy with ears sticking out from the sides of his head (like Prince Charles only a bit worse). My German friend exclaimed "omg why don't his parents get that attended to?" My Canadian friend suggested "because its cosmetic surgery and bound to cost a wad of money". My German friend said "that's not true. The boy is liable to experience psychological problems because of what he looks like. In Germany this procedure is covered by the health care provider" (she was a nurse).
Is "circus clown" or "freak" in the eye of the beholder? I don't know. But if health insurance would cover such things I would be not at all hesitant to take advantage of the opportunity, either for myself or dependents.
edit: Vianka
That is a very sad story. Kids are so cruel and something like that SHOULD be covered by the insurance provider. Fix it now before the kid gets any more psychologically damaged than he or she already is. That kid is being abused multiple times every single day over something that can be fixed.
Question: Do you consider a Man who is now a Woman still a Man? I guess this person I'm acquainted with is considered transgender. He is now a She....has breasts now...very big ones...and I'm told he has had the surgery for female genitalia. I see her occasionally at a Mental Health facility and we casually talk...but I find her verbally abusive. This morn. she was nasty, and I told someone nearby...."If HE keeps abusing me like that, I'm going to tell the staff!" I guess I don't see SHE...but a HE.
Answer: She became a woman when she had the operation.
She's legally a woman. I see her as a woman.
Question: I am female-to-male, and i havent had any long term relationships since starting my transition.? ive had chest surgery, but im not planning on getting any genital surgery in the future (for now). i was wondering if anyone with personal experience could share how and when they "came out" to the people they were dating, or if you were the person that was come out to how you reacted and what would have made it better (for lack of a better term) for you.
Answer: I pick my partners based on their personality and apparent acceptance of "unusual" situations. If someone shows that they have a prejudice towards any sort of group based on things they cannot control (being black, female, gay, trans, ect), that's beyond a turn off for me. It's an absolute "Oh, you might have had a chance for a date... five minutes before you said that." sort of thing.
If you set your sights on someone who is an overall accepting individual, get to know them, and let them get to know you, you'll be able to find a way to disclose your status to them in a way that doesn't traumatize you or them.
I haven't had a single partner, at any point in my transition, "freak out" or anything when I've told them I'm trans. Even the guys I've dated who identified as heterosexual, didn't care they were actually attracted to another guy. Labels aren't really relivant when you find the right person.
There's no magical one way to do it, you'll know when the other person is ready and it will come to you. Maybe with some practice, but it's not brain surgery or anything...
Question: If you are a woman and you have been through female circumcision when you were younger? Did you have the genital reconstruction surgery when you were old enough to have it? And if you did what did that make your family think of you?
Answer: The answer above is correct that FGM is horrible, but it is circumcision and male and female circumsiion each damage nerves (and sexual feeling). In the case of male circ, 20000 fine touch and stretch nerve endings are cut off. I don't like the implication that any circumcision is medically useful. They involve the same tissue (with male involving more pleasure nerves) and they both may change HIV risk slightly (although male circumcision raises the risk of HIV for the female partner) and the "hygeine" argument (pure BS IMHO) applies to both or neither.
We should all agree that FGM?FGC (female circumcison) is horrible, but don't imply that somehow MGM/MGC is OK.
Question: What is the most common pain reliever given in hospitals post surgery? I was curious about this......
Is it Ocecodone ?
Or do they use a different one dependent on the procedure ?
For example ?
Ascitic Drainage ?
Removal of part of colon ?
Removal of part of liver ?
Removal of appendix ?
Repair of hernia ?
Removal of internal female genitalia ?
etc...
Answer: your question is hard to answer generally because it is not as simple as choosing one drug to treat pain.
there are a lot of factors affecting the decision of which painkiller to use. patients feel pain differently, patients may not be able to take a certain medication (or group of medications), and of course where the surgery was done (some places tend to hurt more than others)
i know that in the hospital im in, most patients are on morphine for postop pain. this would include all of the surgeries on your list. however, it is important to attain the pain the patient is in. paracetamol and NSAIDS can work fine if a surgery is done laproscopically, or if more pain management is needed codeine or similar drugs can be used. morphine does have its negatives, and if other pain medication can be used it should.
you can find a ladder of pain medications used from the world health organisation. Oxycodone and releated drugs are usually given to palliative care patients, with terminal cancer etc.
im not sure how well ive answered your question. pain management is a huge topic and if you can youre better off talking to an anesthesiologist.
Question: Howcome girls don't get labiaplasty and hood removal surgery? If guys have to get a circumcision, then why girls have to get a labiaplasty and hood removal surgery? I mean many female pornstars get these surgeries to make them more attractive down there.
If it's good for the goose, then why isn't it good for the gander?
BTW, Labiaplasty and hood removal are COMPLETELY different than Female Genital Mutilation.
FGM is where the clitoris is chopped off.
Removing the hood is also considered very hygenic for women as it gets rid of smegma buildup under the hood. For some women it's really important as the smegma under the hood can become calcified if the woman doesn't wash regularly.
BTW, I know most female porn stars have these surgeries from their interviews on Howard Stern.
I suppose women in America are lucky as cosmetic surgery isn't FORCED on them when they're a baby. In the US it's ONLY forced on male babies. The US really seems not civilized compared to all the civilized countries like Australia, European Countries, Japan, South Korea, etc because these countries DON'T force baby boys to have cosmetic surgery against their will(before the age of consent for cosmetic surgery which is 18 according to human rights activists).
Answer: To Pat: it is forced on the actual boy - he doesn't have a choice in the matter.
I completely agree with Sal and it just shows you how ignorant people are that they don't see how hypocritical their beliefs are. Circumcision in boys maybe done by parents thinking it will prevent infections or have other health benefits - but their beliefs are mistaken.
If you look here you will see a critical analysis of some of the studies done:

The foreskin is a sensitive part of the penis just like certain parts on the vagina. Just look here for more info:

No boys should be circumcised at birth - it is a crime that it still goes on. http://wreckingboy.livejournal.com/31854…
Question: Straight females: would you ever? Would you ever date and/or have intimate relations with a transsexual man?
Meaning..a guy who was once a girl? With or without having surgery, because most transsexual men do not have genital surgery and therefore keep the female genitalia, but with the breasts removed and the chest reconstructed like a male. So..male on top, female below. All other outward appearances are very passably male and this person acts, lives, breathes, and behaves male.
Would you, as a straight female, see this person as a male and date them as how a straight female would date a straight male?
Oh..and if you need further convincing of how masculine one would look, check out these pics (this is just from the effects of hormones, no surgery or anything else) :
http://www.thetransitionalmale.com/tmen.…
and by the way..I am on that page.
wow..this is surprising, the number of "no's"..let's think of it from another perspective. This "boyfriend" would understand your mood swings, your PMS, and all your female problems. Would understand your female mentality, generally be more sensitive, and not to mention, does NOT have a "one size fits all" male appendage..instead, he can get you whatever kind you want. Size, shape, color, vibration..if you get my drift.
Answer: Hell no
No way not ever tht is just nasty.
Question: Question about dating an intersex guy? This question is in regards to my brother who is having some relationship issues.
My brother is 27 years old. He was born intersex supposedly due to the use of Progestrin during my moms pregnancy (they used to prescribe to reduce the chances of miscarriage). He was born with a AIS which means he was born with what looked like slightly atypical female genitalia. Surgery is not quite advanced enough to give him a fully functioning penis so all guys who were born without birth defects should feel lucky (seriously, I count my blessings each and every day).
In the past he has had no problems dating. He is a good looking guy, great job and pulls in good money, college education, etc etc. He was engaged for 4 years recently and that was called off and now he's back on the market. For some reason, when he was younger he had no problems disclosing his birth defect after a few dates (if there was a connection, obviously). He still has sex like a regular guy thanks to an attached medical prosthetic (seriously, if he was in the locker room, you'd never know it was not biological) but I think as he ages he is developing a sense of "loss" about it all.
He's not sure how many dates he should go on before he tells the girl. He's not about sleeping with a girl in the beginning of a relationship, he's the type of guy who waits until he knows her, etc. I don't know exactly what to tell him because I've never been in his shoes and I feel for him, really I do.
Any suggestions?
Answer: It shouldn't be a big problem unless the girl wants his kids. She could still always adopt or go to a sperm bank. There are so many options when it comes to kids. He shouldn't worry about it. I think he should wait until he knows the girl too because there is no reason to go out and tell people that when he barely knows them. He shouldn't have to retell his story over and over as if it matters. honestly it wouldn't make or break if i would date a guy in his position. good luck.
Question: Christians: If your child were born a hermaphrodite, would you let them keep both male and female genitalia...? ...or would you have them have surgery to remove the penis or sew up the vag?
If surgery, would you choose to make the child a boy or a girl?
Would you tell them about your choice when they were older?
Answer: Wow, this is a difficult question. I would take that child to as many specialists as I could. I would want a lot of opinions before I made a decision. If the doctors seemed undecided, I would observe the child myself as they grew up. If the choice was obvious, then I would make the decision myself. If the choice was not obvious, I would wait until the child could make the decision.
Making a decision at birth is risky though, because I would not want to choose the wrong sex for the child. But to leave the child with both male and female genitalia could also leave them without a sense of identity. Kids are mean and it would break my heart to think my child might be made fun of because I didn't make a decision. I don't know how parents decide this.
Question: LGBT: I want to stay a female but thinking about penis surgery? heres the deal i love being a girl im a dominant femme but the idea of being a femme but i love the idea of having male genitals the idea of being able to been with my woman and yet still be a femine woman really excites me has any other girl felt this way or am i just weird
Answer: Certainly lots of people occasionally entertain the idea of having the opposite sex's genitalia.
But you're better off buying a strap-on. Not only would it be pretty difficult to find a surgeon willing to perform genital surgery for you when you're not transsexual, but the current state of penis construction surgery is very, very poor- getting a functional penis that looks like a cisgender man's penis is pretty much impossible at this point in time.
