Lingual
Pertaining to the tongue; the lingual surface of the teeth is that side in contact with the tongue
Question: How much does a lingual frenectomy cost? I would like to get a lingual frenectomy to get rid of my tongue tie. I have no dental insurance and I just want to pay out of my own pocket. How much money should I expect to pay for the procedure?
Answer: My guess is that you don't have a regular dentist~
Call offices in your area and get quotes. Then try to get a personal referral from a friend or relative that has gone to Dr. X themselve and are happy with them.
Then schedule an appointment with Dr. X. They may only do a consultation visit first, and then schedule the frenectomy visit.
The procedure itself is quick once you're anesthetized with a local anesthetic.

Question: My lingual nerve was damaged during wisdom tooth extraction. What can I do to promote the healing process? I realize that the resulting nerve damage is sometimes permanent, but more often, slowly heals. Are there any vitamins or supplements that may help support the healing of the lingual nerve?
Answer: Unfortunately, time is the answer. There are no nerve healing accelerants. Good luck
Question: Do Lingual Braces work if you have an overbite? I would like to get Lingual braces placed behind the teeth however I have an overbite. Has anyone had lingual braces to correct crowded teeth with an overbite. Couldn't they just put the lingual braces on the bottom teeth first and then when they are better aligned fix the top ones?
Answer: This would definitely be a question for an orthodontist. You would have to find a orthodontist that is qualified in placing lingual braces on your teeth. Attached is a link that shows the pros and cons of lingual braces.

Question: How much do Lingual braces cost for an adult? Lingual braces are the ones that are behind your teeth so no one can tell you have braces.
Answer: The price would depend on what the Dr charges and what the insurance is willing to pay. You can expect to pay any where between $2,000- $3,000 dollars. The procedure is still the same for lingual braces as it is for facial braces, they are just on the back side of the tooth.
Question: How well do the LINGUAL BRACES and INVISALIGN braces work? I am wanting to straighten my teeth, they are not too bad, but would still like them straight! I am not wanting the traditional metal wires over the top of the teeth, and want to know if any one has had the Invisalign's or the Lingual braces and how well the work? What is the average time frame of keeping them on and also the cost (relative to AUD).
Cheers :)
Answer: I currently have lingual braces and I am so thankful I got them. The first week was pretty rough, my tongue had to get used to them and I had a lisp for a while. I got them on in January and they should be taken off by September. I only have them on the top of my mouth and my teeth were pretty straight to begin with. I do go in to see the orthodontist quite often though, usually twice a month. The cost for me was $3200 US dollars. I can see the progress already and I can't wait to see my perfect smile...I'm almost there! Good luck!
Question: What does the dentist mean when he sends you to the periodontist to evaluate the lingual? Saw my dentist last night on my implants on 8/9. He is sending me in to the periodontist to check the lingual on teeth 7/8/9. What is that and is it more pain and long term or an easy fix?
Answer: He wants to check the bone density of your upper front teeth!
to see if the implant took, Did the bone regeneate around the implants?
The periodontist will possibly clean, scrape, underneath the gums or even reshape the gums around the implant areas!
with these procedures he will be using anesthesia and prescribe pain medication and or antibiotics too..
Question: Lingual braces..the one that go in the back of your teeth. How much more do they cost then regular braces? I really truly d not want braces but I know I need them t have he perfect smile. I cant stand the look of them on anyone.I heard lingual braces are available. Ones where you can put it on the back of your teeth. What is the prices difference between lingual and regular braces. Are there any more options out there other then these 2, to have the least noticeable braces.
Answer: I have lingual braces and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Had them for about 7 months I think. I had a lisp at first but it went a way in a couple of weeks. My tounge once got caught on a bracket...it sucks when you have a cold and cough bc your tounge pushes forward into the brackets...umm what else..that's bout it..u can always put wax on the bracket to protect your tounge but I hardly ever have to. I LOVE my braces...how crazy is that? Mine were about $2000 more than traditional braces and I had to pay that up front but my ortho didnt charge very much bc I was his 1st patient...I'm sure the price will increase once he gets more experience.
But I dont see why anyone would get any other type of braces...I can already see results..and all you see are my teeth no metal. I had crowding and an overbite that I'm correcting. 30 year old female...felt like I was toooo old to be wearing braces and the lingual ones were a better look for me and I have the money to pay for them so why not!
LOVE THEM!
Question: Are there any problems with leaving a lingual bar on your teeth long term? I had braces taken off a couple of years ago. Then went overseas and haven't seen an orthodontist since. Now there are two lingual metal bars still in my mouth. Is this okay having them in long term until I get them taken out? I'm a little scared incase it's not okay!
Answer: As long as you will floss under the wires and have your teeth cleaned professionally, it is ok to leave the retainers. I just don't like them when I know my patients can't or won't floss under them because it is time consuming. You can develop serious gum problems if you don't clean the area well enough. Having the retainers there helps prevent relapse movement of your teeth, but if you develop gum disease and bone loss it isn't worth it.
If you've had your wisdom teeth removed and you don't grind/clench your teeth at night when you sleep, you should be able to remove the retainers after a few years. I know Orthodontist will say leave them forever. Thats fine if you are willing to work harder to keep the gums clean around them.
Question: What bite do I have to have to get lingual braces? I want to get the "no-show" braces that are behind your teeth - lingual - but I don't know if my bite prevents me from getting them. I have what I consider to be the standard overbite.
Answer: If you bite is deep so that you would knock off the brackets when you close you would not be an immediate candidate for lingual braces. You might have to start with traditional brackets and then progress to lingual. Good luck
Question: what is the average price of lingual braces? I am interested in learning the average price of lingual braces. How long has this option been available?

Question: What programs, other than Google translator, can be used to make a website multi-lingual? What programs, other than Google translator, can be used to make a website multi-lingual? What open source / other programs can be used to automatically translate web pages?
Answer: You do realize that automated translation has much room to improve—right? If you want your website to be taken seriously it can't have confusing language, or barely understandable word usage. At least not without communicating the content is automatically translated. Example:
Please do not appreciate the government to obtain all the requested payments. - UIRUROJASU
This is the result of translating the following text to Japanese and back to English using http://translate.google.com
Be thankful you aren't getting all the government you are paying for. —Will Rogers
Question: How do I look after my Lingual Frenectomy? I had my lingual frenectomy today! :) But, I'm not quite sure what else I need to help look after it, apart from salt water mouthwash. I've been told to wash my mouth with saltwater at least 3 times a day to help keep the area clean, but I would like it if someone else could help me figure out what helps promote healing?
Thanks! :)
Answer: I have had a lot of dental/oral stuff done myself. And the dentist ALWAYS says the same thing, gargle with salt water. Salt water....salt water......salt water.
Honestly? There is not much else you can do. However, I would highly suggest increasing your vitamin E intake. Vitamin E is really cheap, you can usually get a bottle of 100 for 5 bucks or so. The other thing you should take is a Vitamin B complex....same price.
These vitamins really help your body promote healing from the inside out. So, while you can only do so much to keep the area clean, you can actually take vitamins (which are obviously completely natural) to help your body heal from the inside out.
It really does help!!! The other thing I would highly suggest is taking ibuprofin....even if you aren't feeling any pain. It is an anti-inflamatory, and will help keep any swelling/inflamation down.
Good luck!
Question: How much do lingual braces cost? I was thinkning about getting lingual braces. For those who don't know, they are braces that are applied on the back of your teeth. Just curious on prices?
Answer: Not sure how much exactly (different for everyone) ask your ortho and he will give you a price range.
But I do know for sure they ARE more than normal braces (which run 5-10 thousand)

Question: What is a thought without a lingual context? Without a language to represent it, what is an idea?
"A picture," I have heard. But, then, what is a picture without a lingual context?
--D. Kemp

Question: Is there a cure for Lingual Tonsil infection? I've been having this infection in my lingual tonsils which are located at the base and the sides of the tongue, I've taken amoxicillin and Augmentin for it many times with no results. Can anybody tell me if there's a cure?

Question: general anesthesia for lingual frenectomy for a five year old? My five year old is scheduled for a lingual frenectomy in march, however she is getting general anesthesia, i am so afraid, does anyone know how safe this is? Should i wait until shes older?
Answer: Very, very safe. It'll be a quick procedure, so she'll get a mask on the face with some gas to get her knocked out, and then the surgeon will do his thing. Five minutes? Ten? If I gave the anesthesia, I wouldn't even start an IV.
It's the sort of thing that could be done awake for an adult, but kids are too traumatized by procedures like that and are rarely cooperative enough to get it done at all.
Count on your daughter being in a crappy mood for the rest of the day. Kids hate the feeling of being anesthetized. I'd also advise giving her Tylenol around the clock for a few days. Don't make her be in pain to get medication.
Question: Is it legal to deny employment because someone is not bi-lingual? An employer was going to hire me, but their supervisor said they wanted someone who could speak Spanish. While language is not a protected class of people under Title VII, it does seem to me to be a bit racial regarding ethnic background. The hiring manager wanted me to work for the company, but the VP said no because I only speak English. Is is right for a company not to hire someone when they do not specifically state before the interview that they want a bi-lingual person? Had they done so, I would not have taken the time to apply and interview for the position.
Answer: It depends. Does the job require someone to know both English and Spanish? If so, then the employer is in the right.
Question: Dentists who do Lingual Braces in Manila, or anywhere near? And how much it usually costs? I need to get lingual braces because my job requires nothing on your teeth. I wanna know how much it usually costs, if I'm getting it done on the lower teeth only.
