Question: How long after concussions do brain hemorrhage occur? I had concussion about 5 days ago, My head has stopped hurting and I feel fine, the spot on my head is still a bit soft but almost back to normal, I did not go to the hospital. I just want to be safe, none of the hemorrhage symptoms, do you think I'll be fine?
Answer: At any point. That's just it there is no way of knowing. A clot could be formed and something like a hit to the head could jog it lose. Head aches are warning signs. Most likly though you'll be fine just you NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR concussions can KILL YOU!
Question: I had a postpartum hemorrhage with my first child, what are the chances of it happening again? I had a baby 4 months ago, and had a postpartum hemorrhage. It was really severe, and had to have 2 blood transfusions and 2 surgerys, I almost lost my life because of it. I really want to have another baby some day, what are my chances of this happening again?
Answer: If they used pitocin to augment your labor it could have caused the hemorrhage.
If it happened during a natural labor (no drugs whatsoever) then I would think you would be at risk.
Most hospital births cause more problems than they solve. Find out the cause of the problem and try to prevent it. Inform yourself and settle for nothing short of the best care for you next time.
Question: What are the chances of having postpartum hemorrhage in future pregnancies? After 4 weeks of delivery I got postpartum hemorrhage and now I am really afraid of getting pregnant again. Can anyone help me that what are the chances of getting postpartum hemorrhage in future pregnancies after having it once?
Answer: you may want to check a site like Cafe Mom where there are plenty of women to help you with this question. possibly someone who's had the same problem after delivery.
Question: Can a detoxifier for the whole body clear a vitreous hemorrhage? I thought it could since a vitreous hemorrhage is absorbed by the liver and a detoxifier activates the liver.
Answer: No such thing. Detoxing in this sense is a scam.
Question: Subconjunctival hemorrhage - How fast should your eye get red? Three days ago I woke up with a small portion of the white of my eye bloodshot. I assume this is Subconjunctival hemorrhage, but I have never had it before this incident. My question is, how fast does your eye get red? Should it happen immediately? My redness has stayed the same during the day, but each day since when I wake up there is more of it, so it appears to be happening overnight (three days running now).
Answer: Is it bloodshot, meaning lots of big looking red vessels, or is there a patch of red, like a pool of blood? If it's a patch, it's a subconjunctival hemorrhage and it can spread over the eye and then eventually thin out and reabsorb. Generally it will run it's course within 7 to 10 days. If it's just bloodshot, it's something different. In either case, you should probably see your doctor for clarification and any necessary treatment.
Question: Im 11 weeks pregnant, plan on having abortion but I have a hemorrhage What are the risks of having the abortio? Im scared to have the abortion because i have a hemorrhage on the lining of my uterus. What are the risks involved with having the abortion?
Answer: Lauren:
don't let these people bother you by calling you names. they do not know your situation and they have not walked in your shoes. they show their ignorance by the things that they say. you do not owe ANYONE an explanation and certainly no anonymous coward on the internet. I can promise you that each of them have skeletons in their own closets that others would gladly crucify them for. U don't need to worry about safety. It is completely safe-safer than childbirth. they DO NOT suck the fetus out in pieces either-not at that early stage. I guess ignorance is bliss for some of these people. At the stage you are in it is just like having a heavy period. That is all. Talk to your DOCTOR if you are concerned. DO NOT rely on scare tactics from people who have no information to start with.
Question: Can someone explain a brain hemorrhage to me please? when i was 8 in 2002 my mum had a brain hemorrhage and i didn't really understand it. and i still don't, can someone explain please?
Answer: Intracerebral hemorrhage is focal bleeding from a blood vessel in the brain parenchyma. The cause is usually hypertension. Blood from an intracerebral hemorrhage accumulates as a mass that can dissect through and compress adjacent brain tissues, causing neuronal dysfunction. Large hematomas increase intracranial pressure. Cerebellar hematomas that are > 3 cm in diameter may cause midline shift or herniation. Herniation, midbrain or pontine hemorrhage, intraventricular hemorrhage, acute hydrocephalus, or dissection into the brain stem can impair consciousness and cause coma and death.

Question: My dad has a vitreous hemorrhage. What to do so he can regain his vision? A vitreous hemorrhage is when a blood vessel ruptures in the retina. His vision has depleted tremendously and he can't judge where things are on top of that. If anyone can help, it would be very appreciated.
Answer: Is he also diabetic? Is it in one eye?
I am not an expert by any means but from I have come across regarding retinal conditions i have learned that the eye can clear up at least some of the blood floating in the vitreous but that takes at least a month. Again, I might be totally wrong.
What I am sure of is that if the vitreous does not clear up on its own or that vision is still very poor out of that eye after a few months, then a vitrectomy is an option.
Vitrectomies can lead to more eye problems but will usually restore vision.
Question: Do they consider dying from a brain hemorrhage natural courses? My husband passed away three months ago from a brain hemorrhage. I was left with a few unanswered questions and 1 of them is that on the death certificate they stated that he died of natural couses. It's that what is suppose to say?
Answer: Death by natural cause is basically any organic disease process, like a stroke, heart disease, cancer, or hemorrhage, so yes, it would be normal for the cause of death to be listed as "natural", even though that is a legal classfication as opposed to a scientific medical one. Sorry for your loss.
Question: Can acute stress lead to something as serious as a brain hemorrhage? I've been following the condition of rocker Bret Michaels after he suffered a massive brain hemorrhage a couple of days ago. I'd seen him on Celebrity Apprentice a couple of times, and knew he'd suffered from juvenile diabetes most of his life. And on one show he broke down after his daughter became ill, and then got word she might also have the condition. With his recent emergency appendectomy, complications, and him working at a faster pace than usual, could these things have combined to lead to a hemorrhage?
Answer: who knows .. sometimes things just happen
Question: Can I have a brain hemorrhage and be alive still with no seizures? Two years ago when I was swimming I hit my head hard and to this day I have pain in my sup occipital g and almost half of my brain. The only are not affected is the right side of my brain. The pains are so agonizing that I cry when I get one. I have painful headaches, change in vision, loss of cordination and balance which are some of the symptoms of a brain hemorrhage. But I don't have seizures so is it possible to have a brain hemorrhage and not have seizures?
Answer: The brain does not feel pain- pain only comes from structures around the brain.
It is possible that you are actually having seizures in your occipital region. A seizure in medical terminology does not automatically mean that you pass out and flail around, it means that you have uncontrolled electrical activity in your brain. Brain injury can definitely cause this kind of problem.
Also, it is possible that you have an unresolved subdural hematoma, or it is also possible that you have a migraine disorder. Bad muscular or nerve injury from the impact could also be at work. You definitely should go to a doctor about this since it is causing you so much trouble.
Question: What is the difference between an pontine hemorrhage and a duret hemorrhage? I know that they are both intracranial hemorrhages that affect the pons and brain stem, but is it the same thing?
Thanks a million for any help :)
Answer: A pontine hemorrhage may be either a primary or secondary hemorrhage.
A primary hemorrhage means that there is no cause other than hypertension.
A secondary hemorrhage means that it occurred in response to traumatic injury or some other factor that may have caused an intracranial pressure buildup.
A duret hemorrhage means that it is a secondary hemorrhage, but it may occur elsewhere besides the pons.
In other words, a diagnosis of pontine hemorrhage should prompt the patient to ask the cause (hypertension, or some injury), a diagnosis of duret hemorrhage should prompt the patient to ask where it is located.
Question: Is it possible to hemorrhage from squeezing a pimple? and how strange will I look going out in public with tissue on the tip of my nose?
Can you type hemorrhage 3 times and spell it correctly all 3 times?
I think I misspelled it twice.
Answer: That was the best laugh I've had in a while. It was worth the hot coffee spewed lip burn. Stick a mini pad on it.
Question: In the post-operative period, why may there be a hemorrhage in the animal? In the post-operative period, why may there be a hemorrhage in the animal? What signs would be seen to indicate this? What is the appropriate response? What could be done to minimize the possibility?
Answer: Because the blood isn't flowing as it should.
Well the animal will bw in pain.
To the vets instantly or call an emergency animal ambulance.
Feed the animal healthy food and the best quality type of food.
I hope this has helped you.
Good luck.

Question: Can fetal maternal hemorrhage happen a second time? I just found out that my husband and I are pregnant with our second child. Our daughter was born premature due to fetal maternal hemorrhage which they said they didn't know what causes it or how to prevent it. My daughter is my miracle baby. I'm worried this could happen again because there are so many unanswered questions. Is it possible for my second pregnancy to have complications? and could it be possible that this fetal maternal hemorrhage could happen again?
Answer: I had an FMH at 32 weeks of pregnancy and had an emergency c-section. My son lived for about 2 hrs after birth. I did have another baby after that and that pregnancy was just fine, although I was treated as a high risk pregnancy. I understand there may be some dianostic tests they can give, although I am not sure as to their accuracy.
At the time they told me its not a common problem, so the chances of its happening twice is slim. But since you have already experienced it once, that statistic is likely not comforting.
Best to you.
Question: How long does conjunctival hemorrhage take to lose redness? I know that this can take up to two weeks to fully disappear (according to the internet). My doctor said a few days, but today would be my 3rd day of having it and it's still there. The redness isn't as deep in colour as originally, but it has grown down my eye and gotten a little bit lighter. I have to start my new job in a few days and want to know roughly if the redness should last much longer? Any ideas?
Answer: Both the internet and your doctor are right.
And you can see that it is already starting to get better.
It is a gradual process, like a bruise fading elsewhere in the body.
Question: Conceive after an accidental hemorrhage? Hi,
My wife had an accidental hemorrhage of baby before 3 months due to which baby was delivered in 9th month but was a dead one.We are again planning to conceive. Are there chances of any complications due to the previous accidental hemorrhage?
Thanks.
Answer: XYZ
It may not be easy to tell what caused placenta abruptio. In fact, doctors can detect an exact cause in less than 5 out of 100 cases. Some causes (though rare) can include:
# abdominal trauma from an automobile accident or a fall
# sudden loss in size of the uterus, due to loss of amniotic fluid, or delivery of a first twin
# abnormally short umbilical cord
However, a woman is more at risk for this condition if she:
# has had this condition before
This condition is usually an emergency and requires treatment right away. Measures will be taken to keep the mother and infant healthy. This might include:
# immediate and continuous internal fetal monitoring of the infant
# IV fluids
# monitoring of vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and urine output
# "watchful management" if the fetus is not in distress, the mother's vital signs are stable, and labor is not in motion. Some small abruptios will stop bleeding on their own.
# vaginal delivery if the infant and mother are stable
# cesarean section if the mother and infant are unstable
# blood transfusion if signs of shock are present
What are the side effects of the treatments?
Because the treatments for this condition may be life-saving, the potential side effects should be weighed against the loss of life. It may take longer for a woman to recover from major abdominal surgery involved in a cesarean section. Risks for any surgery include bleeding, infection, and allergic reaction to the anesthesia.
What happens after treatment for the condition?
After delivery, the woman will be watched closely for signs of continued bleeding. This entails monitoring frequent CBC's, evaluating clotting times, and watching vital signs. The surviving infant will likewise be observed in the intensive care unit.
How is the condition monitored?
If a woman is pregnant and develops any of the signs of this condition, she should call her doctor right away.
# has preeclampsia, which is a condition that develops during pregnancy as a result of hypertension
# has eclampsia, which is toxemia during pregnancy that becomes severe
# has chronic high blood pressure
# is older
# has uterine distension from multiple pregnancies, or an excess of amniotic fluid
# has had more than four children
# has diabetes
# has other medical conditions, such as systemic lupus erythematosus
# smokes cigarettes
# has more than 14 alcoholic drinks per week
# uses cocaine
# has a history of an attempted internal version, a procedure in which the obstetrician tries changing the baby's position from breech to head first
What are the long-term effects of the condition?
This condition can result in:
# the death of the mother
# the death of the fetus
# excessive bleeding leading to shock
# a serious generalized bleeding problem called disseminated intravascular coagulopathy, or DIC
# kidney failure, also known as renal failure
# a liver disease called transfusion hepatitis
# low muscle tone, called uterine atony, with continued bleeding
# premature delivery, birth trauma, and risks associated with prematurity
However, these results are rare. Maternal death occurs in less than 5 out of 100 women who have placenta abruptio. Fetal death rates are higher. The infant may die in as many as 20 to 35 percent of cases.
What are the risks to others?
This condition can be harmful to the fetus. The woman also has a higher risk of developing this condition during future pregnancies
Question: Is the second delivery harder after postpartum hemorrhage from the first one? I gave birth to my first born 6 months ago and I had postpartum hemorrhage which was life threatening to me. I'm okay now but im always scared that maybe the second time I might not be so fortunate. My husband are not planning to have another child yet but the thought of losing my life scares me for the sake of my son!!
I will be talking to my doctor before my husband and I decide to have another kid.
Answer: Ok now my second child was much harder than the first. Each baby will do its own thing. But this time around your dr should be looking for things like that since it has happend before. And i would defanitly talk to your dr before you decide you want to try again just to see if it is going to be ok. Or maybe there is something you can do to prevent this problem from happening again. I didnt hemorrage but i did almost die when i had my daughter almost lost my bp not good when you are in labor. But like i said before i would talk with the dr and make sure before i decided to have my next baby. Good luck!
