Question: How do I get from Costa Brava to Barcelona? I'm going to Costa Brava for a week in May and my geography is awful. I've always wanted to go to Barcelona to see the sites etc. Are they Barcelona and Costa Brave near to each other? If yes, how would I get there by train and how much would that be?
Answer: I´m from a town near Barcelona,Jetsette has told you all you need to know! It is very easy,it would only take you a bit over an hour on the train from costa Brava to Barcelona, very easy to go there.Ticket to Sants or Plaça Catalunya (where the Ramblas are).Don´t know the exact price, approximately 5Euros I think, one way ticket.Enjoy yourself!
Question: How can I travel from sant feliu in costa brava to the other resorts? Im staying in sant feliu in the costa brava and Id like to travel down to tossa de mar and other places. what is the public transport like and is there a connecting service between the resorts. thanks sarah
Answer: There is a bus called Sarfa. It goes from town to town along the coast and down to Barcelona. It's acceptable and reasonably comfortable.
Question: How much is a 24 of Budweiser and Brava? I'm wondering how much they are, i know Brava is cheaper but it tastes awful. By the way I'm in Canada
Answer: You're in Canada - a place with many great regional and micro beers. Why, in the name of all that does not suck, would you want that crap? Go do something you don't like as penance.
Question: Where can I launch a speedboat in the Costa Brava? We are off to Spain in a few weeks and going to be staying at a campsite in Pescador in the Costa Brava. We would really like to take our 17ft speedboat with us. Does anyone know of places to launch in the Escala area.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks,
Answer: When I lived in Blanes, there was a public boat launching ramp just North of that big rock with the causeway to walk out to it that is in the Med. But I don't know if it's still there or not.
Question: How to drain coolant from a Fiat Brava? Hey guys,
I have a 1998 Fiat Brava 1.4 12V and I was hoping to drain all coolant, as I am getting massive airlocks in the system and have to bleed it continously.
So I was wondering if there was a screw or bolt or even a petcock somewhere near the radiator, so that I can drain it. But I can't find it anywhere.
Also, when its drained, would it be a good idea to do a flush with a hose pipe?
Thanks!
Answer: Some of the cars have a jubilee clip that connects the radiator you can undo that clip with a screwdriver it will let the fluid out if you can access the bottom side of the rad.
You can flush it with a hose so long as the engine is shut.
You can get radiator flushing agents too to remove blockages.
Question: Has any female used a brava breast enlargement pump, or a simular product? What were your results?
I am 20, and a 32C, I dont really want to get them done. My husband and I want to have kids some day. I would at least like them to be fuller and more round, they are starting to sag a little. Is it normal for them to start sagging this early?
Answer: no, but what would be the point of doing that? Wouldnt u just have them done??
Question: What is the geology like on the Costa Brava? This is for a geography essay on the factors affecting the characteristics of a coastline and i seem to have been thrown in the deep end! I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me a little about the geology, thanks!
Answer: I haven't found a specific non technical source that describes the geology but here are some clippings and the links to where they came from. Apparently it is a microcosm of a vast sampling of geological history but specifics are not easy to come by.
The coast line seems to be a result of a shallow sloping flat plain of resistant metamorphic rocks that plunges to the southeast. Bounded by the Pyrenes Mountains to the north and recently deposited gravels onto that plain to the northwest. This plain is a monocline that extends under Majorka. See Valencia Trough and Channel below. The region is given over to many major landslides as the loose sediment to the northwest flows over the Coasta Brava coast into the trough.
Owing to its long and complicated geological history there are a multitude of geological formations and processes exposed in this region. However the governing contribution to the shape of the coast appears to be the aforementioned exposure of resistant metamorphic shists and gneiss exposures. The region is still being uplifted as the African plate continues its northward advance and the region is also prone to earthquakes.
Here are the relevant passages regarding the area of the Costa Brava from the wikipedia article on the Geology of Spain, the Iberian Peninsula:( See also the several other links)In order of younger to older:
Catalan Coastal Ranges
The Catalan Coastal Ranges were formed in the Eocene with compression. Later in the Oligocene and Miocene extension occurred as the Valencia trough was opened up. The whole crust in the area was bent into a monocline. The mountains have a north east – south west trend, at an oblique angle to the original basin.
Pleistocene
There are raised sandy or pebbly beaches along the coasts which have been partially cemented. These have been dated to 53700 to 75800 years old. [21]. Torca del Carlista has the largest cavern (La Grand Sala del GEV) in Europe. It is found in the Basque Country. It has an area of 76,620 square meters, with dimensions of 245 by 520 meters
Quaternary
Valencia Trough
The Valencia Trough lies between the north east coast of Spain, near Barcelona, and the Balearic Islands. This is a northeast to southwest oriented depression between the continental slope of the Iberian Penisnsula and the slope off the shelf around the Balearic Islands. This originally opened between Late Oligocene and early Miocene, at the same time as the Provençal Basin. The continental shelf off the Catalan coast is from six to 30 km wide. Several V shaped canyons cut deeply into the shelf. These are in part Foix, Besós, Arenys, La Fonda, cand Creus Canyon. The Ebro nargin is fed by the Ebro River, The shelf here is 70 km wide. The shelves on the Balearic margin are under 20 km wide and have a low influx of sediments, and instead are dominated by carbonates.
At the base of the Valencia Trough is the Valencia Channel, This is a gully that carries sediment to the north east to the Provençal basin.
The Valencia trough consists of extended continental crust. At the deepest point the Moho is only 8 km deep, whereas under the mainland it is 32 down. Beneath the Balearics the depth is back up to 23-25 km. Other points under the Valencia Trough axis have a Moho at 15 to 10 km down. The lithosphere is only 50 to 80 km thick, and the mantle has an abnormally low speed of sound. The Crust in the trough went through a similar history to that of the mainland. It was compressed in the Variscan Orogeny, extended in the Mesozoic so that basins filled with sediment, compressed back and lifted up in the Cretaceous, then eroded. In the Eocene and late Oligocene there were a couple of basins filled with terrestrial deposits.
In the uppermost Oligocene and lower Miocene rifting started, and continental deposits were made followed by marine deposits on a shallow shelf. During this period the trough grew bey extension to its present dimensions. In the middle and Upper Miocene clastic sediments were deposited under sea water. Then the level of the Mediterranean drastically dropped due to evaporation. Gullies were cut deeply into the sediments, and Messinian Salt was encrusted onto the deeper parts. In the Pliocene and Holocene deltas were formed over the shallow parts and deep sea fans in the deeper parts. .[18]
The slopes around the trough have been affected by many underwater landslides. Mostly these are small, under 100 km2 in area.
The Big'95 debris flow, is a large landslide off the coast from Castello, beyond the Columbretes Islands. This slide covers 2200 km2, containing 26 km3, or 50 gigatonnes of sediment. It is 110 km long, has an average thickness of 13 m, ranging from 600 m, to 1800 m below sea level. A carbon 14 date indicates the slide occurred before 9500BC. It is believed to have been triggered by a volcanic dome, the same one that raised the Columbretes Islands above sea level.

Question: Is that Brava coloured paint exploding on buildings advertisment real? I think some shots are real (inside rooms & smaller areas) but the ones when it is exploding paint all up & out of the side of those high buildings, is that real?? I pressumed not but my partner thinks it is. What do you think?
Answer: Amazingly it IS real... you can read all about it on link below
Question: What is Costa Brava's (in spains) temperature like in the winter season? I want to go somewhere warm in my cristmas holidays but i cant find out the temperature in Costa Brava at that time and it looks like a lovely place.
Answer: It is, indeed, a lovely area but I would have to say that winter on the Costa Brava can be a bit hit & miss. You could be lucky and have warm, sunny days but it can also get far cooler than the other Costa's, further on down. Temperatures around the 60*F mark are not unheard of however.
There are some very reasonable Christmas breaks to be had to the Costa Brava in particular with Ferris Holidays, who offer 8 days/5 nights in Calella full board for £239, with travel by coach.
My personal choice, in Spain, would be either the Costa del Sol, or Costa Blanca. I have been to both during the winter months (not December) and usually been very lucky with the weather.
The downside to going to either of these at Christmas time, however, is the price of flights & accommodation tends to go up rather high.
Whatever you decide, it's pretty certain it will be warmer than the UK and will make a nice change from Christmas at home.
Question: I want to buy a Fiat Brava throttle potensiometer. Can you give me cost and availability centeres? Model of Brava is 1.4 manuactured in 1999, hatchback, petrol
Answer: No idea of the cost but a quick call to a Fiat dealer will get you price and availability. There is highly unlikely to be anywhere else other than a bit of a chance at a vehicle recaimation centre where you will get one.
Question: where is the reverse light switch for the 1999 fiat brava please? i need to sort out my reverse lights but dont know where the switch is and is it easy to do bearing in mind i am not to mechanically minded.
i have one on order and someone to fit it but would like to do it my self.
thanks.
Answer: the switch is norm under the gear shift cover near the gate
Question: How is usually the weather like in Costa Brava (Spain) at the end of september? Is there any chance I can get a sun tan on holiday in Costa Brava at the end of September (beginning of October)?
Answer: If you are from the UK you'll get burnt in the sun if you are not careful, but it's getting near autumn and there is always the possibility of cloud and rain, but you should get some fine eather.

Question: how can i get to costa brava from reus airport using public transport?
sorry first time using this and never been out of ireland so kinda dont know where im at . im travelling from reus airport to pineda de mar and i heard that there is a trian that can take me there with maybe one changeover. i just want to know what train is it that i look out for ? is the station near the airport ? is it easy to understand the maps in the stations and also with buying tickets ?
Answer: Firstly, you need to be exactly sure where you are wanting to go.
For Pineda de Mar, on the Costa del Maresme (part of the Costa Brava) you need to be flying into Girona Airport (or Barcelona). However, there is also a resort named La Pineda, near Salou, which is best served by Reus Airport. Is it possible you are actually going to La Pineda, as this does seem more likely?
Anyhow, just in case you need to get to Pineda de Mar from Reus Airport, you have a journey of around 4hrs. To do the journey using 2 trains, you first need to get from Reus Airport to Reus railway station, a 20 minute journey costing 1.10€.
http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/e…
There is also an alternative of a bus from Reus Airport to Barcelona which is outlined in the link above.
For the train times from Reus to Barcelona Sants station, a journey of about 1hr 45mins, see the attached -
http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/index.html
For the final leg of your journey from Barcelona Sants to Pineda de Mar, you need to catch a train on the linea R1, which runs every half hour at 12mins and 42mins past the hour. This journey takes 1hr 19mins. Pineda de Mar is the next stop after Calella.
http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/cercanias/…
You will see from this how important it is to be certain which resort you are booked in, and if you haven't yet booked and wish to visit Pineda de Mar, get a flight to Girona.
Question: When you congrats to an actor/actress, how do you choose between using BRAVO or BRAVA? I'm just really curious.
Answer: These days, it really doesn't matter. Techically "o" for male, "a" for female, and "i" for the company.
Just stand up and shout, if you feel the performer deserves it.
We do hear it, believe me.
Question: Where can I find Spanish train times for the Costa Brava? I want to know train times for the resorts of Calella or Santa Susanna to Barcelona, and what time the trains stop.

Question: which part of the Costa Brava is the most discerning area to live in Spain? We prefer the Costa Brava but which town/village exactly would be the best to buy a house? A little way from the sea would be fine but we would like a view and also to be able to get to the beach easily. We thought to buy a house in a golf resort/estate for security reasons
Answer: on my opinion you should look at the S'Agaro, a very exclusive place.
