A cream that absorbs ultraviolet radiation

Question: Sunscreen? I want to stay pale, so i wear SPF 50, its water and sweat proof, for up to 80 mins of swimming or sweating. Does having that sunscreen on PREVENT ANY tanning? or do0es it just slow it down? I think it will prevent, but i'm not sure

Answer: Takes a lot longer to tan,my daughter is evidence of that
