Question: Is it TRUE that ProActive causes Hypopigmentation? What r the effects of using that product while bed tanning? Guys some1 told me that ProActivecauses Hypopigmentation...and also..another question: Would you get tanned from bed tanning even though you don't tan in the sun?
Answer: Getting into the tanning bed while using any exfoliating product will actually give you hyperpigmentation (darkness) Cover your face to protect it.
no you will not get tan in a bed if you don't tan in the sun, better do sunless tanning (get someone to do it though, those machines can be streaky)
Question: what should my friend take fry skin and hypopigmentation? My friend's arm started to itch recently and now that area has become dry and some hypopigmentation has started. What could it be and what should he take?
Answer: Use Eucerine lotion--Over the counter product it will help but your friend should see a doctor. Eucerine won't make the area burn like the other lotions and works better than any other lotion on the market.
I was burnned over 40 % and I've used all the lotions on the market due to skin issues. Eucerine is the best.
Question: What is the treatment for hypopigmentation? I have it because I used an acne medicine for 6 months and it made me lose pigment in my skin. Anyways what can I do to treat the hypopigmentation(loss of pigment) on my face?
Would selsun blue work...if not...what would?
Please give me answers..dont tell me to go to a doctor
Answer: I doubt selsun blue would work since it is an anti infection topical lotion it does help with the treatment of tinea versicolor but that is all together diff then what you have here. It would not hurt to try it though. HOw bad is the discoloration? Maybe a darker good quality foundation and bronzer or a tinted moisturzier like vaseiline healthy body ...
I would have to see how bad it is to know ...
Question: Is there a way to reverse hypopigmentation ? Have white spot from liquid nitrogen wart removal. Is this going away anytime or permanent?
Answer: well It takes time for that to go.U can repigment it back with moderate strength of topical steroid like Betnovate cream once a day
Question: Do the white patches (hypopigmentation) that follow an exzema outbreak go away? I broke out in eczema in February. Doctor prescribed corticosteroids. The eczema is going away but now there are white patches (hypopigmentation). Do these eventually go away?
Answer: I had this condition last year and it is still a problem, it has to be treated on regular basis if you fail to treat it then the rash will flare up and the light patches will appear.
My light patches were very light and now they have nearly disappeared. Try using Dream cream from Lush it helps to relive the itchyness and also helps to get colour back!
In a word Yes, the white patches will go away but you will always battlle with the ezema to keep the skin colour from not lightening.
Question: I have hypopigmentation around my lips. Which type of concealer and brand will help give me even skin? If any of you have experienced lighter skin around your mouth or on your face, i'd appreciate advice on how to even skin tone out. I tried dream matte mousse but it made it more obvious
Answer: With this you will need some real heavy duty stuff. Go to your local MAC cosmetic store and talk to the makeup artist. MAC stands for makeup artist cosmetics and so they have things that confessionals use! I love their concealer!
Question: Hypopigmentation after laser hair removal? I recently had laser hair removal done by a dermatologist; on my fourth or fifth treatment, because my skin was slightly tan, I received burns all over the area with very superficial brown scarring (like a very, very thin scab). The brown areas are now peeling off and the skin underneath is normal texture, but is very very light (not pink). Is this just regeneration of the skin, or could it be permanent hypopigmentation? Will the color eventually blend in with the rest of my skin? I've been applying aquaphor twice daily. Thanks for the help.
Answer: I have had laser removal and havent experienced that. but I only had it 3 times, each time he cooled the area with ice before lasering and I think thats what stopped it from leaving any type of irritation. you should ask your doctor about it-it doesnt sound normal.
Question: What can be done for hypopigmentation? I have several spots on my arm that don't match my skin color because I scar very easy. Is there anything that can be done for this besides makeup? Does micro needling help at all (dermaroller)?
Answer: Clinique has a skin tone correcting lotion type thing, here's the link
http://www.clinique.ca/templates/products/sp_nonshaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY8260&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7027
hope this helps! :)
Question: Does hypopigmentation (white patches) after an eczema outbreak go away? I broke out in eczema in February. Doctor prescribed corticosteroids. The eczema is going away but now there are white patches (hypopigmentation). Do these eventually go away?
Answer: These will usually fade, but often there are some permanent changes in skin pigmentation after having eczema.
Question: What can help hypopigmentation? I used to have eczema on my hand and how it's gone but I'm left with white marks. It's embarrasing cuz everyone always asks if I it burned or something. I have a little on my back. Please help cuz I'm only 13 and I can't even wear a normal shirt without feeling uncomfortable
I mean I have it on my arm
Answer: Poor you.
I would ask the chemist if a product called Bio-Oil will help, its quite pricey at £8 a bottle but it is brilliant for scarring and it has done wonders to reduce the discolouration I ahve from stretchmarks
Question: Will self tanners, spray tan, or tanning bed help rid me of hypopigmentation? I had eczema on my arms, and once it cleared up, I was left with white spots (hypopigmentation). I was wondering if the tanning bed, self tanners or bronzers, or spray tan would help get rid of these spots? If not, is there anything else I can do to get rid of them?
also, if i use a spray tan or self tanner, should i only put it on the spots or on my entire body?
Answer: No, they might even make the spots more noticeable by adding some contrast. I don't know how to get rid of them, other than surgery or makeup. Sorry.
Question: I have got white patches of hypopigmentation. Can it be treated?is it related with asthama?its not hereditary.? It is not hereditary in our family. Also the patches keep changing locations. Is it related to thyroid/ blood sugar. I am 27 years old. Which treatment is best for this, homeopathic/ alopathy/ ayurvedic?
Answer: Just "White patch" is a non-specific symptom. Which areas of your body are hypopigmented? Is there loss of sensation over that area? Is it scaly?
Well, you try to correlate with your symptoms:
Pitryasis versicolor-scaly,on upper trunk and shoulders, asymptomatic, common in young adult. I think you have Pitryasis versicolor only. If so, you can take TAB Fluconazole single oral dose of 400 mg.
Leprosy-non scaly,loss of sensation. (Don't mistake me)
Are you having it right from birth? It could be partial albinism.
It could be immunological like Vitiligo.
It is not associated with asthma,thyroid/blood sugar problems. People with vitiligo do sometimes develop thyroid problems, but it is rare.
However I have listed only the most common causes of white patch. There is a long list. It is better to consult a dermatologist.
Good luck.
Question: Psoriasis and Hypopigmentation? I've been using Dithrocream for some mild psorasis and i'm positive it's the cause of some small white patches on my skin since the cream has a burning effect. Is this pigment loss permanent and if not, is there anything I can do to get the pigment back?
Answer: the hypopigmentation is normal, that just means your skin needs more moisturizer. You want to make sure you are using plenty of moisturizer, that is key. Try the cetaphil cream ( NOT lotion) product at least twice a day. but it will take time, so don't expect results too quick.
Question: Hypopigmentation from fade cream...? I have mild hypopigmentation on my face as a result of using skin lighteners.I didn't use too much and I didn't even use it for the recommended period of time so I don't understand how this even happened. I know that in some cases hypopigmentaion can be permanent but it depends on what it's caused by. I can't really find any definitive information on the net about this.. Is it permanent when cause by hydroquinone and if not how long does it take to to fade?Anything I can do to help? Thanks.
Answer: Im having the same problem. I have been using kojic acid on some hyperpigmentation but the surrounding skin has gotten lighter and hypopigmented making my skin patchy. If someone can please answer this. If i get some bloody sun in London then maybe ill try go get a tan!
Question: Is drug-induced hypopigmentation permanent? I used a 2% hydroquinone product for dark spots that has left me with circular light (not white) spots ... I stopped using the product 4 weeks ago hoping that the spots would re pigment.
Answer: They may repigment, yet. I was unable to find any proof, though. The stuff is banned in the UK and Europe. Try going out in the sun for a bit, but don't overdo it. You could put sunscreen on everything except the light spots (mask with tape, maybe).
Question: What are Sun Spots(Hypopigmentation)? Is it a fungus? Is it anything to be concerned about? should they be inflamed at all?
Answer: sun spots are not a fungus. you should start wearing an spf if you're not already. they usually just come with age if you've never had them before (like me. i'm 28 and just recently started to get them too. yeah, it sucks.) if you get them on your face, getting microdermabrasion helps depending on how severe your case is. it's a superficial thing so if you get enough micro treatments, you can usually get rid of them and continue to keep them away with your spf cream. most licensed estheticians will do a deal with you, like one treatment for $70 or 10 for $550. and no, they shouldn't be inflamed. good luck:)
Question: Lemon Juice and HYPOpigmentation.? Ok. So I know that lemon juice can help to fade hyperpigmentation and even out your complexion. already have mild HYPOpigmentation on my face as a result of using hydroquinone. Would lemon juice make this worse?
Answer: lemon is too acidic for skin.. choose a mild skin lightening soap (black licorice soap) to lighten the dark spots and a high spf sunscreen to prevent further hyperpigmentation.
Question: Hypopigmentation is a curse!! Help!? In Nov. and Dec. my lips got really chapped. After it healed, it left hypopigmentation (light spots, not darker spots) around my lips. I've searched on-line and there are a lot of sites about getting stuff to fixe hyperpig. but none about fixing hypopig.
Has anyone had this condition? What did you use? How about tanning lotions?
Medical help is my last resort becaues I go to school far from home and don't have time to see the family doctor.
Thanks to all that reply.
Answer: Surf the web for cosmetics for vitiligo. Vitiligo is hypopigmentation of the skin (white patches). There are a few on the web, such as Smart Cover, that are specially made to blend the white patches to your skin color and give great coverage. You also might try visiting a major department store cosmetic counter nearby. Sometimes they will sell the makeup for vitiligo.
Question: What are these white round spots on my skin with little red dots in the middle? I just noticed that on my hand I have a few circular areas of hypopigmentation with a little red dot in the center. It is not raised or itchy or anything. Its possible they've been there a while because they're very subtle but would like to know what they are (I always wear sunscreen so I don't think it's sun related).
Answer: blood vessels sometimes they bust if we carry something heavy and you get lil red dots on your hands!!
Question: is hypopigmentation related to pregnancy? its on my legs, all over. :(
Answer: You may mean hyperpigmentaton and yes when pregnant, some women experience darkening of the skin in different areas. Sometimes around the mouth and face, darkening of the ears, stomach, armpits, creased areas or folds in the skin. You can have this without being pregnant though. Ironicly, birth control pills have been known to cause hyperpigmentation as well as some other medications and skin conditions. Take pregnancy test if you're trying to figure out if you are pregnant and see your Dr.
