Question: sunblock??? I don't have sensitive skin, but whenever I put on sunblock (i've tried many many different brands...), and i would get allergic reaction.. itchy, redness, bumps.
and i live in las vegas where sunblock is a MUST... does anyone know a sunblock that is extra extra gentle???
thanks :)
Answer: You are obviously having an allergic reaction to certain chemicals in the sunscreen products you have tried. Try using infant/baby sunscreen. If you have already tried that, then you really should make an appointment with an Allergist and/or Dermatologist to get tested for skin allegies. The testing is not fun and skin allergy testing usually takes 24-72 hours (you can't shower during this time)... but it will answer all of your questions.
Also, bring in samples of the lotions you have been using that make you react. That will help them with your treatment options.
Question: Sunblock?!?!? what is the best type of sunblock to use if you burn easily?
Answer: Use a sunblock with an SPF of 45 or higher and make sure to apply it half an hour before going in the sun and keep reapplying every hour (or more if your sweating or going in the water.) Use an oil-free sunblock on your face. Don't forget to use a product with SPF on your lips, since lips burn very easily. Also, use a hat and wear sunglasses.
Question: What sunblock is specifically made for surfers and won't run into my eyes in the water? I am constantly getting sunblock running into my eyes from the major brands and wanted to know if there was a surf specific sunblock that is formulated to NOT run into my eyes and provides UVA/UVB waterproof protection.
Answer: If I use anything, I use Bullfrog spray, but I only use it on the top of my head and my nose. So far, it seems okay to me, and hasn't gotten onto my eyes while surfing, like some other 'sports' sun blocks.
Question: What kind of sunblock or tanning oil should i use for sun tanning? Does babana boat baby sunblock spray lotion spf 50 work on a 15 year old? Is using baby oil bad for you when sun tanning? What kind of sunblock/lotion should i use to get a good fast tan?
I am Mexican and i usually tan an hour on my back and an hour on my stomach.
Answer: use a lower SPF sun block like SPF 15 for fair skins for 5 hours should do the trick
Question: What kind of sunblock should I use on my naturally tan skin? I have tanned indian skin, and I really don't want it to get any darker. However I will be visiting places over the summer where the weather will be extremely hot so i want to use sunblock to protect my skin. Which sunblock would be the best for me and which spf should I use?
Answer: in my opinion I would use the highest SPF you can get..I got really burned a couple months ago and I used SPF 55 which is really really high but you would probably be fine with a 35 or 40. Just make sure that there is no Tanning agent in the product you are using. Sunblock only! and it may help to stay near an umbrella :) hOpe that helps you

I don't go outside that much and I'm going onto this really big trip in like 2 weeks, so I wanted to know before I buy, whats the difference between baby sunblock and adult sunblock. I know that the baby sunblock has more protectants but which one should I buy if i want to stay extremely protected.

Question: What does sunblock with zinc oxide do that regular sunblock doesnt? I have a birthmark on my leg that I can not have sun on at all. However, in the summer it's hard to keep it covered. Someone in my laser surgeon's office suggested colorful zinc oxide sunblock. They said it has stronger protection?
Exactly what type of extra protection does it provide vs. sunblock.
Where can i buy this? i heard it comes in colors too
Answer: it's heavier and denser, harder for the sunlight to penetrate. also provides some healing to any burn.
Question: How do you apply sunblock and make up? I got the new Neutrogena Ultra Sheer spf 70, and I was wondering how you apply make up with sunblock. I checked on eHow and it said to apply sunblock after the makeup. But my friend says put it on before make up. Do you guys have any answers or useful tips?
Edit: Yes, I do know that alot of makeups have spf's in it. My
MAC foundation has a spf 15, but that's not enough for California.
Answer: first sunblock, then makeup. The sunblock will sink into your skin (it won't feel wet) then put your makeup on, so it won't smudge
Question: What is the best brand of sunblock to put on while going swimming to prevent getting a tan? I tan super easily in the sun/while swimming. I need a sunblock/sunscreen to prevent this from happening.
Also what is the difference between sunblock and suncreen?
Does it make a difference for which one you use?
Answer: I love bullfrog. It works on the face and body so you save $ and even the kids can use it. The spray is invisible but goes fast.
Question: SUNBlOCK......?!!!!? i have extremely fair skin and no matter what i do i always seem to get burned. i went to the beach today and i put on spf 85 sunblock but i still got burnt. does anyone know of any higher sunblock? or any other ways to prevent this!!!!
please help!
thnxxx <333
Answer: Its actually not safe to use a higher spfs. The higher it is the more unstable it is. This means that it would either be the best out there, or it would not work at all. The safest/most reliable would be 30 to 45 spf, and I would recomend the Neutrogena dry touch stuff. This was also recomended by the consumer reports as one of the best sun screens out there along with Banana Boat. I always used to get burned until I started to use this. It also does not have a very dangerous chemical found in most popular sunscreens (do not use coppertone!). Also remember to reaply ever 2 hours and you should be fine.
Edit: Zinc, like the guy above me said, is the best way to go. If youve ever seen surfers with white stuff on their noses, thats zinc. You may be able to find it in the form of normal sun screen thats meant just for the face...
Question: What is the best sunblock for a lawn service employee in Florida? I put on sunblock first thing in the morning, and after the first 10 minutes I am covered with sand, and grass. The sunblock makes it stick to me. It's impossible to reapply, because of the sand and grass that sticks to me. I need THE best sunblock, one that won't come off because of sweat, and one that I can put on in the morning that will last all day.
Answer: I like Coppertone Water Babies. It is 50SPF & stays on even if you sweat.
Even though it is water (sweat) resistant a doctor will tell you to reapply every few hours anyway.
Sorry, but nothing is gonna help to keep the grass and sand off of you! :)
Question: What is the best sunblock to use on kids involved in sports? With my children involved in outdoor sports they are always in the sun & sweating. Which is the best sunblock for them to use?
Answer: I use Neutrogena UltraSheer dry-touch sunblock. It is non greasy and ultra light clean feel. It comes in several strengths. I use spf 55 on my face under my makeup. It works great. I told my daughter and she bought spf 70 for my granddaughter. She is 8 and swims competitively. The girl said it was the first sunblock that did not burn her skin. She has very fair complexion
Question: What is the best sunblock spray out there for fair skin family? My family is going to the beach soon and we would like to know what type of sunblock/suncreen spray would be best when we are out in the ocean? I have a tendency to break out in rashes and sting when using suncreen. Should we use something formulated for babies and children?
Answer: p20 is pretty good but i would use factor 50 L'Oreal Solar Expertise
Question: Can a sunblock lotion be a substitute for a regular lotion? Can I not just apply my sunblock lotion instead of my regular lotion when moisturizing? Sometimes it feels to heavy having a moisturizing lotion and an opaque sunblock at the same time especially in humid weather.
Answer: buy a sunblock with built-in moisturizer.
Question: What is the best way to use sunblock and moisturizer together? I have heard that products with both moisturizer and sunblock don't work well because the sunblock "blocks" the moisturizer from absorbing into the skin, so how would I layer them?
Answer: On my face, I use Eucerin clear-skin moisturizer with SPF 15. I don't think the sunblock blocks the moisturizer; I've found the moisturizer works really well and unlike most other moisturizers with sunblock (even ones that advertise as being non-comedogenic or specifically for faces), which make me break out. This one is not too expensive and you can get it at pharmacies if you don't find it elsewhere because it's approved by dermatologists.
Question: How can you apply sunblock with liquid foundation? I don't have any time to get tinted moisturizer or any foundation with SPF 15/30 in it. All I have is sunblock and this Covergirl Queen Liquid Foundation. What can I do to apply both without messing up anything?
Answer: Buy one with sunblock in it. Or go without foundation and just keep reapplying the sunblock.
Question: How do I remove baby sunblock from my polyester and polyurethane covered glider? My two year old got a hold of her bottle of SPF 50 Huggies Sunblock and rubbed it into the cushions and on the back of the rocker/glider we have and I have no idea how to remove it!! The cushions do not have removable covers.
Answer: How to remove sunscreen from polyurethane -
Wipe up any excess with a cloth or sponge dipped in warm sudsy water to which a few drops of ammonia has been added. Rinse well to remove all ammonia and wipe dry.
Question: What kind of sunblock would work the best? I am light-skinned (asian) and would like to know which sunblock would work best on me? I want to know the SPF. I have a banana boat sunblock with spf 15,,,but I don't know if that's good enough. I'm trying to prevent myself from skin aging/skin cancer, getting sunburn or have my moles darken.
Answer: I was told that anything between 70 and 15 is good. My derm told me to use neutrogena spf 45 on my face. I use it every day, becuase who wants wrinkles?! On my body I use spf 30. Basically speaking the higher the better. I do not think there is a big difference between 40 and up, due to the amount of sun a normal person gets in a day. Good for you to use SPF, you are a very smart woman!
Question: What is an ingredient to look for in sunblock that will help prevent tanning? I always get a heavy tan in the summer, and I was hoping to find a sunblock that might keep me from tanning. Is that possible? And if so, what ingredient should I be looking for in that sunblock?
Answer: make sure the active ingredient has this: Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide. Some product claimed they're sunblock but they're really sunscreen. So far I think the Doctors Dermatologic Formula (DDF) enhancing sun protection is pretty good. It has all the active ingredient and it's not oily or smell bad.
I actually found that info from About.com but I can't seem to find the article.
