Abdominoplasty
Repair abdominal muscle and remove excess fat and skin; especially beneficial after pregnancy or weight loss; commonly called "tummy tuck"
Question: Abdominoplasty? Does anyone know how to get an abdominoplasty procedure for less than seven grand? Maybe new doctors or something...???
Answer: Abdominoplasty surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Question: How much does the abdominoplasty cost and the result? how about the result of abdominoplasty surgery?
i want my tummy flat .. about losing 10kg.
Answer: The cost depends on the facilities of surgery, the surgeon, and the treatment. It also depends on your problems. The average of abdominoplasty cost is about five up to nine thousand dollar. The surgeon fee is about five thousand dollar, for the anesthesiologist is about five hundred dollar, and for the facility fee is about seven hundred dollar. These costs are not included the operating room facilities, anesthesia, and other expenses. The costs also depend on the region of country and what patients need.
Question: How long should I wait to workout after abdominoplasty & Lipo? What can I use to heal the scar fastest? I had abdominoplasty/lipo last year. I am 27 and in good health - I gained a little weight from not working out after the procedure, but it is all in my butt and legs now. I am just wondering what I can do to minimize the scar and if I can start working out again - my stomach is still numb. I also would like to know if anyone has had this procedure after a large weight loss and then gotten pregant afterwards. What were your results after you had the baby?
Answer: I have no experience with abdominoplasty - don't even know what it is, or lipo - but I do know what that is.
If you hat the surgery last year then you really should be getting some exercise. I would guess that this would be similar to having a c-section as far as working out and stuff goes. You really should see your doctor to make sure you get the best advice, but here are some guidelines if you will not be seeing a doctor. ...
Trust your body on what your limits are. I was told to take it very easy - not lifting over 10 pounds or anything for at least 6 weeks after my c-section. I lifted more than that within a week of my c-section because I had no one to help me, and I think my body paid the price. It was over 2 months before I could work out much.
When you do start to workout, take it slow at first. Push yourself until you "feel the burn" but not until you feel like your insides are ripping apart or anything. After my over 2 months of not exercising much, I had a lot of scar tissue inside of me that had to be stretched out and stuff. I would stretch and stuff until I had a slightly painful burning sensation a few times a day. Every day I think I got a little further until I regained full mobility in that area.
If your stomach is still numb I wonder if maybe you meant a month instead of a year?? If it has just been a month, I would suggest mentioning it to your doctor and taking it easy for a few more weeks. If it has really been a year, go ahead and exercise a bit. Just make sure you don't push yourself too hard. It may be hard to tell how hard is too hard when you are numb. Pay attention to signs like if you get short of breath, feel your heart beating hard, or get lightheaded. I would take a break as soon as you feel any of those symptoms and wait a while to see how you feel once they have passed. If you feel fine, try to exercise about that much the next few day. - Use common sense on how far you can push your body.
For the scars, stretch, drink plenty of water, and use moisturizers and lotions. They make special ones to reduce and minimize scaring, but if you can't find or afford any of them, something will be better of nothing.
Question: Is there any way to get rid of extra skin around the abdomen short of abdominoplasty? I have had three children, the last about 12 years ago. I am only 41, but I'm stuck with extra skin hanging on my abdomen. I am 5'9" and weigh about 130 pounds, but this extra skin is disgusting. Is there a particular exercise or diet regime - or even a cosmetic procedure that can reduce it without the major surgery of abdominoplasty?
Answer: The unfortunate answer is probably not. You can buy skin firming treatments and creams that will work to firm up your abdomen, but if there are large flaps of skin, then these treatments probably won't give you the results you want. Some excersizes can help to increase blood flow to your abs (jogging, aerobic ab excersizes) and that will rejuvenate your skin. You can also look at your current diet/lifestyle to see if there are any causes that are slowing your skin rejuvenation. Do you smoke? Do you drink alot? Smoking and drinking alcohol can change your skin tone. Tanning and other practices that cause skin damage could also be slowing your progress.
Loose skin is probably the hardest thing to fix because you cannot just work it off. It isnt fat and doesnt mean that you are physically unfit. Abdominoplasty procedures have made great progresses that reduce scaring and damage caused by the surgery. Also, recovery time is steadily decreasing due to improved techniques. Talk to a plastic surgeon on a consult. A consultation doesnt commit you to anything, but perhaps he/she can give you more insight into procedures that can help reduce loose skin. Who knows, maybe the doctor can suggest other remedies instead of surgery. Good luck!
Question: Has anyone had a hernia repaired with an abdominoplasty? I suspect I have an abdominal hernia (slightly above the umbilical area) and since I will need surgery to correct it, am wondering if I can have an abdominoplasty at the same time and what type of surgeon should I consult for this?
Answer: Hi Brandi. Glad you asked. My daughter went through hell with this problem. First had a surgeon do a repair using the standard mesh they put in there. After about 6 months, she began to herniate around the navel. The hernia became very large. We visited both a surgeon and a plastic surgeon to hear their proposed solutions. In our case, there was no comparison between the two. The general surgeon was not confident about results saying the mesh could herniate again. By contrast, the plastic surgeon we saw had treated hundreds of these cases and was extremely confident. Yours does not sound anything near as bad as my daughters so I'm pretty comfortable recommending you go straight to a plastic surgeon. They REALLY attach the mesh so it is firmly attached. While they are working right there anyway, I'd also recommend you consider a tummy tuck. My daughter did and was so glad she did. You have the pain of recovery to deal with anyway but the flat tummy really adds a positive side to the ordeal. Good luck Brandi. BTW, be sure to phone around and ask how many of this type of surgery the physician has done. Don't be embarassed by asking. You are paying for it and you want the best.
Question: What is the difference between liposuction and abdominoplasty? I read the text book definition, but I still don't quite understand.
Answer: Liposuction is a procedure that can be performed on any part of the body and it doesn't necessarily firm a body part. Abdominoplasty is performed on the abdomen. It's the tummy tuck to reshape and firm the abdomen.
Question: Have you had a abdominoplasty procedure and how much did it cost? I am interested in possibly getting some liposuction and a tummy tuck done and I was just curious as to actual costs of everything. Did the place you go to offer financing? How did it all work? Can you share your experiences?
Answer: You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - health-quotes.talk4fun.net
Question: Is a full abdominoplasty right for me? I want to have tummy tuck. I am 25 and slightly overweight(fat on my tummy). Is a full abdominoplasty right for me?
Answer: You might get better responses if you post in a more appropriate category. This is words and wordplay.
Question: Will Abdominoplasty help with lower back pain due to herniate disc? I have two herniated disc L5 and S1 . I have had six children so I have extra stomach fat. If I have this removed will it help my back pain? I have had several procedures done that only temporarily helped. I don't want to have back surgery because my mom ans sister both have had it done and they still have problems. Looking for a alternative.
Answer: if you are carrying access weight, then they advise you loose it, especially around the tummy. However, you also need to strengthen the core muscles, so exercise is the only way to gain core strength and that in turn will burn the fat. So see a PT and get some core strength exercises sorted out. You could join a Pilate's Class, but with disc problems you need to make sure the Instructor is a PT, someone who knows how disc problem and Pilate's works. Best of Luck
Question: How do I get kansas medicaid to pay for abdominoplasty? I have surgery coming up for removal of a hernia, i would like to know if any one know how i could go about getting an abdominalplasty done at the same time have had several surgerys and severe back pain, i do believe this would help me alot.
Answer: abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure in which excess skin and fat in the abdominal area is removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened.
Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure, I don't think that your insurance will cover it, unless you get a report from the doctor that they surgery is needed for medical purposes rather than cosmetic.
Question: What is the recovery like from an Abdominoplasty? I am considering this proceedure and was wondering what the recovery is like and what the variations in pricing is like.
Thanks.

Question: What is the recovery time for having a breast lift and an abdominoplasty? a friend of mine will be scheduling this procedure in the summer and is wondering when she'll be able to return to work.... any ideas? txs
Answer: Depends on her tolerance to pain and how well the procedure goes. Generally 6weeks to 3months...
Any abdominal surgery takes 6weeks at LEAST.
.
Question: When it comes to abdominoplasty, how much weight do people typically need to have weighbed pre weight loss to? get one? Like... do you have to be extrememly over weight to have the effects of loose skin necessary, or in cases of after childbirth, if you are losting 40 pounds, is it necessary if your pre weight loss weight is 160, or is it for more dangerously and extreme cases of obesity?
Answer: ?
Question: What was your abdominoplasty experience like (tummy tuck)? Hello,
I had 5 babies in 6 years and think that I might have some loose skin that won't respond to exercise. I was thinking I might consider abdominoplasty in the future (my youngest is only 8 months old) and wondered what your experience was like. Thanks!
Answer: Hi,
Three months ago I had my tummy tuck done. I have had 4 babies and the youngest one is 9 month. That means that he was 6 months when I had it done. In the beginning I was not allowed to carry the baby. Thank God I have a wonderful husband that helped me a lot with the kids. I do NOT regret doing it. It is the best thing I could have done.
Question: How long might I be off work after an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)? All the cardio and crunches and leg lifts are not working as I hoped....it will take 5 years to save for a tunmmy tuck and I may loose it by then, but this is in case I don't.
Answer: I suppose it depends on whether there are any complications. One of the possible complications is death. I would think that if you keep up the exercise and eat a balanced diet while watching your calories, you will see significant results before the 5 years are up.
Question: What is a realistic recovery time after abdominoplasty? For a healthy 37 year old female? Big fat children belly! May have it removed - I was thinking 4 weeks - am office based worker, at home, but need to be mentally 110% - so need to have moved on to plain paracetomol and have stopped dozing off. Many thanks.
hello both of you
i am in good shape - exercise a lot (am addicted to my step counter and do 13,000 a day, plus yoga when i can get there.
I have had 3 C-sections so I am used to recovering from abdo surgery - the point about getting up and exercising is very true.
I am thinking of having it done at the end of the year so I can take time of over Christmas (and I will get a year off cooking).
Thank you x
Answer: If you start out in top physical condition with strong abdominal muscles, recovery from abdominoplasty will be much faster. Some people return to work after two weeks, while others take three or four weeks to rest and recuperate. After surgery, exercise can help you heal better. Even people who have never exercised before should begin an exercise program to reduce swelling, lower the chance of blood clots, and tone muscles. Vigorous exercise, however, should be avoided until you can do it comfortably.
Question: How much does an abdominoplasty cost? Any ideas what cost and recovery time is?
Answer: a lot
Question: can someone clear a doubt i havr about abdominoplasty surgery? it tightens the muscle right?. so like does that mean if u just have loose skin, and hardly any fat and u get abdominoplasty, would u come out of the surgery with really tight abs, maybe even a six pack. and can u still get nice abs if u go through aPanniculectomy (only removes loose skin doesnt tighten muscle).
Answer: No you wont have a six pack when you come out of surgery just nice tight muscles and no flabby skin. You will still have to work out ( but remember to give yourself time to heal). If you are already doing work on your abs you may have some definition but after about 6 weeks of taking it easy you will most likely have to start again... but slowly
Question: is there a health insurance out there that covers a abdominoplasty? i want to know if a health insurance company DOES cover plastic surgery. my surgery would be from a emergency c-section where they sewed me up way to tight and now have this roll of fat that hangs, its quite discusting and my husband won't touch it. i don't blame him, i don't like to touch it.
i am no where near jr. high, did that about 13yrs ago!! i don't think a 13 yr old would be allowed to get the surgery anyway. I am 25 , a wife, and mother, not a kid
Answer: While many abdominoplasty surgeries are for cosmetic reasons, there are an equal number that are needed for medical reasons. If your abdominoplasty is a medical necessity, it may be covered by your insurance.
Reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. It is generally performed to improve function by may also be done to approximate a normal appearance.
Some symptoms that may indicate a reconstructive abdominoplasty include, but are not limited to:
-Panniculitis (an inflammation of subcutaneous fat)
-Intertrigo (an inflammatory condition involving skin folds, caused and aggravated by heat, moisture, friction, and lack of air circulation.)
-Low back pain caused by a large pannus (apron of skin from the lower abdomen)
-Umbilical hernia
-Verntral hernia
-Abdominal hernia following other abdominal surgery
-Permanent overstreching of the anterior abdominal wall following multiple pregnancies
-Permanent overstreching of the anterior abdominal wall following massive weight loss
-Surgery or trauma to anterior wall of the abdomen that resulted in loss of muscle integrity or pain from scarring.
If you have any of the above symptoms you may be able to have your abdominoplasty covered by your insurance.
Question: What is the difference between Tummy Tuck(Abdominoplasty) and liposuction?
Answer: Tummy tuck surgery, also called abdominoplasty, improves the contours of the abdominal area to produce a flatter, more toned appearance. Tummy tuck surgery corrects more than a bulge; in cases where your waistline has disappeared or folds over, a tummy tuck can produce a flatter, more trimmed abdomen. Tummy tuck surgery is not a substitute for fitness or weight loss. The procedure corrects excess skin in the abdomen and may tighten the abdominal muscles. It may also remove a small amount of fat. The conditions suitable for treatment with tummy tuck may be localized to the lower and central abdomen or involve the entire abdomen.
Liposuction, also called lipoplastry or suction lipectomy is surgery that uses vacuum suction and special instruments to remove localized, subcutaneous fat deposits. Subcutaneous refers to the fat that exists immediately below the skin and above muscle. Liposuction also improves body contours in people who simply have disproportionate fat deposits in specific localized areas.Liposuction removes excess fat and will reduce certain contours but it does not reduce skin.
