Tumescent
An anesthetic technique using large amounts of a solution containing saline, lidocaine, and epinephrine into the area to be treated; literally means to swell up, referring to the appearance of the site after injection
Question: What is tumescent liposuction? What is tumescent liposuction?pls any help will be appreciated.
Answer: Tumescent liposuction is often called “liposculpting” for a reason: it literally sculpts your body! The surgeon will place small incisions into the area of fat that needs to be removed. A tiny tube connected to a powerful vacuum is then inserted through these incisions. The suction that is created suctions the fat out. You are left with the contoured body you’ve been dreaming of.
Question: Does the phrase "tumescent LIPosuction" have a double entendre? The question doesn't really belong in this category but it is so much easier to just stay here and ask it.
Answer: tumescent --means a special kind of anesthesia
given during liposuction--so the name.

Question: can swelling after tumescent lipo surgery cause the hips to look uneven?
Answer: In a word yes. Your surgen should have explained that to you before he prefomed the surgery. Once the swelling subsides you should even out.
Question: does the tumescent technique of liposuction generally help individuals who would have needed a tummy tuck? i hear that because the cannulas are so small in size, that it helps your skin redrape to your new contours much better. so can the tumescent technique prevent the need for a tumm tuck?
Answer: No, because if you have large amounts of excess skin and slack muscle, no amount of liposuction, regardless of the technique will take care of that.
If on the other hand, you just had excess fat to remove, but maybe your skin elasticity wasn't 100%, then tumescent liposuction might work well.
But for the most part, liposuction is definitely not an alternative to a tummy tuck.

Question: Tumescent Thursday: Are YOU Biblically "unequally yoked" to a Lumm-ox ?

Question: Tumescent Thursday: Are YOU Biblically "unequally yoked" to a Lumm-ox ?
Well... ARE YOU???

Answer: I see no reason to follow anything the prophets never confirmed in the first place.
Question: Tumescent Liposuction? Has anyone had this new 'safe' tumescent liposuction? and if so how did you feel afterwards and how good were the results. Was it in one visit or more? and finally what was the cost. Thanks for your help ♥
Answer: Well, tumescent liposuction claims to be safer, less invasive and of lower risks due to the micro-canula used and the small incision made.
However, it's still a surgery and risks that associate with any type of surgery are aplenty. If you add in the danger, complication and the side effect, it can become overwhelming....
The results, the surgeon would tell you, is better than if you go for the traditional liposuction as the technique aims precisely at targeted area(s) and hence more fat can be taken out....
Don't be taken in by this claim. If you don't exercise and eat healthily after the surgery, the fat may return.....
Here's an account of tumescent liposuction which gives a truer picture of what it's all about:http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/tumes…
And the cost would be quite formidable since it uses laser technology. For your info, a traditional liposuction already costs from $1,500 up to $7,500, depending on how much fat you want to remove and how many areas you want to do, amongst a host of other factors.....
Question: what is the realistic recovery time for tumescent liposuction? I am looking into getting liposuction (tumescent obviously lol) and was wondering what the real recovery time would be as far as gettinng back to work. I read a few different times its 24 hours to 48 hours.
Is that true? Or would I need more time off for proper recovery?
Details; I am a chubby nineteen year old who has lost over 50 lbs on my own (no surgery though I wanted one and still do but beggers don't get to be choosers right) and am wanting to have at the least my hips and thighs done if not my hips, thighs, buttocks and belly to achive a more musculine/manly appearance(I am a ftm). I only wish to help myself contour a more male appearance man-wise. I am currently a size 11-12 in shirts girl-sizes, med. men-size. But my hips are size 18 g-size and 42 m-size.I am wanting to even my, err, figure out?
Answer: Here at Arizona Lipo I have many questions that come up about the recovery. With lipo being my specialty and the only procedure I dedicated my practice to. You will want to rest for the first12 hours after your surgery. Dizziness after the procedure can persist as long as 5 days. Move slowly and be careful. You may shower 6 hours after the procedure. We highly recommend placing a chair or a stool in the shower so you can sit comfortably. It is very important to have an adult with you during the first 24 hours to assist you if you experience dizziness and to help you change your dressings. The day after your procedure we recommend you take a walk for up to a mile with someone accompanying you. Progress your exercise as you tolerate it. If you experience fatigue or an increase in discomfort after exercise, you are probably overdoing it. As you heal, exercise is essential for increasing blood flow and a good result.
A garment must be worn as much as possible for the first 7 days. After that it is good to purchase a lighter support garment or body shaper from a local department store to be worn during activity for 1 more week. Compression created by the garment is the most important thing after your procedure. Take your garment off only to shower or change the dressing. Remember, wearing the garment is more important than trying to stay dry so do not attempt too many frequent dressing changes. To change the dressings, simply take off the wet ones and use the sanitary pads or the dressings provided by the nurse and apply over incision sites. Use extra padding in these areas.
The main goal of liposuction is improvement and not perfection. The first two weeks patients often look worse. At about 14 to 17 days the healing and the new shape starts to appear. You need to be patient. Each patient healing process varies I can say that my patients are back to normal activity within 24- 48 hours after lipo.
Hope this information helps! I have done over 4,000 surgeries and am an expert in my field.
Best of Luck to you -
Question: I just had tumescent lipo done on my u/l abs, so why isn't my stomach looking flat? Hi. I am done having kids and needed a little work done to get my body back to the way I want it. I had tumescent lipo done a few days ago and am just wondering why my stomach doesn't look flat the way I hoped it would? Is it just swelling?
I will say it looks A LOT better than before - the "donut" has been greatly reduced, but is not completely gone???...
..."the donut" just looks much smaller, but is still present right around my belly button area. Is this normal? Will it go away and flatten out? Anyone with experience please answer. Thanks!
ps. I think they said I had about 700-800?? cc's removed... thanks...
Answer: It could be that you have a little swelling going on. Please check with your doctor to see if this is something that is normal? It could be that all you have is surface fat..which is very common.
Don't worry because a little diet and exercise and you should be able to reduce your stomach size in a short amount of time. Pay special attention to your diet, eat plenty of healthy foods like leans meats and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
I would check with my doctor just to make sure everything is cool.
Question: what is the meaning of tumescent?
Answer: swollen
If you take a wilted carrot and observe the flaccidity (floppiness) - then place it in a glass of water and give it some time to absorb the water by osmosis...
The carrot will become tumescent.
Note that it is now decidedly not floppy
(or put it next to a lady carrot)
Question: four days after liposuction and it looks horrible? I had tumescent liposuction on the "saddlebags" of my outer thighs. The day after surgery, I noticed the results! The saddlebags were gone, although the area was bruised and lumpy looking. Now, after four days, my thighs look almost as big as they were before. If I hadn't seen the 850 cc's of fat with my own eyes, I would swear nothing had been removed. What is going on? Is it just swollen? Is it going to shrink again? Is there anything I should be doing to encourage the swelling to go down? Arrggghh!
wow, thanks you guys for being encouraging and nice!! so many ppl are mean when they answer questions, maybe the anonymity makes them feel powerful. thanks, everyone. :)
Answer: The swelling is very normal and your doctor should have told you upfront about it. Some doctors recommend ice packs and others don't.
I suggest that you call your doctors office and see what they recommend. You should have also received paperwork from the hospital giving you instructions for the first 2 weeks of home care and special instructions for the first 48 hours so that you know what to expect. Look through any paper work that they may have given you when you left the hospital.
Question: What do you think about liposuction? I am scheduled for surgery in a few weeks here are the details: I am 24, Im having tumescent lipo on my stomach, its costing $6000.00, the doctor has performed 40 in the last 2 months? Does this sound safe to you?
Answer: It's not about the number of times the surgeon has done it but the results that matter. Did you get to see pictures of patients he/she has done? Were you able to talk to a former patient who has had the procedure done? Secondly, who will your anesthesiologist be and what are his/her credentials? In the event that you do not see the results you want (let's say your stomach is uneven), how will the doctor handle that situation? How comfortable do you feel with the doctor?
What is really important to remember is that you cannot substitute liposuction for a healthy lifestyle. If you do not eat well and exercise, you can continue to gain weight. Also keep in mind that it takes MONTHS for the final results of liposuction to be revealed. Even though the fat is taken out, the skin needs time to tighten. BUT liposuction can produce amazing results. The most painful surgeries are under the muscle breast augmentation and tummy tucks NOT liposuction. You'll be given plenty of pain meds to cover that.
If you have any more questions, please message me.
Question: Tumescent Technique - Liposuction ?
Answer: Yes? So what is your question?
Question: Is it normal to gain 10lbs give or take immediately following tumescent lipo? I just had the procedure preformed on my abdomen and flanks 4 days ago. I never read anywhere in all my research or was advised by any of my doctors or his staff that I should expect to gain weight. If anything I figured I would lose a pound. Well its day 4 and Im 10lbs heavier then the day I went in! Is this normal and how long will it last?
Well actually Ive lost 20lbs with diet and excercise alone. Lipo was for my stubborn baby belly fat that wouldnt go away with those alone. SO maybe you should educate yourself before answering questions you know nothing about.
Answer: That's what you get when you substitute simple diet for invasive surgery.
Question: What do you think of this line? His tumescent tool jutted from his groin in all It's youthful splendor, and she watched transfixed. She saw the hunger in his eyes, the desire, and she knew she felt the same.
Answer: its, not it's, how could she "know" she felt the same considering that you're comparing to the 'hunger in his eyes', and it's rather juvenile, isn't it? You might as well call it a rising love rocket than 'tumescent tool' for all the good it does you.

Question: Please Help Me.. Words/phrases to make sentences and speeches more interesting? Like instead of a boring old sentance
Eg..
instead of saying like..
Her ancle is big
you could say
Her ancle is tumescent.
If you understand.
Help.. thanks.
Answer: I used to read the dictionary and thesaurus and I listened to the people on the soap operas...haha...seriously...I love using large words and i've been old that I am very well spoken...
for example...I got this from Erica Cain on "All My Children:"
Instead of saying something like...
"so are you saying that...?"
She'd say:
"Are you suggesting that....? " (not a big deal but doesn't it sound more intelligent?)
Instead of saying..."I agree."...say..."I concur..." (same thing)
"why is that important?" = "what is the relevance?"
"I go there all of the time..." = "I frequent that restaurant"
"I'm done talking!" = "I'm not going to continue this conversation with you any longer!"
"I tried so hard..." = "I was diligent..."
"you're stressing me out..." = "you are exasperating...."
"you're making the problem worse..." = "you are exacerbating the situation!"
"boy, she's tough and really hangs in there..." = "She's got such tenacity!"
"what do you mean?" = "can you please elaborate?"
"don't talk down to me!" = "I'll thank you to NEVER patronize me again!"
"you think you're better than me!" = "you are so condescending."
" you're acting stupid." = "you are exhibiting irrational behavior."
"I'm trying to get my point out..." "I'm trying my best to articulate this.."
"I don't judge people by the money they have..." = "I don't believe in judging people by their socio-economic level."
"I'm hungry." = "I'm famished!"
Email me if you want more! =
if you'd like further assistance in this matter please feel free to contact me via email and I will be sure to assist you in a manner which i'm sure you will find to your liking. In the event that I am unable to meet your expectations I will take it upon myself to research the above mentioned question...I'm quite sure, however, that i will have absolutely no difficulties satisfying this request! hahahaha!
Question: My fourth poem of the morning. Like poison being removed. Comments please.? lust
A molten sun dripping in the horizon,
Between the sheets, I wait for her to come.
A living flame, she is impossible to resist,
Burning me deep, with every bite, kiss and lick.
She haunts my every dream with damnation
Invades my sleep with tumescent intentions.
Hell, I'm sure must be missing a demon,
My every thought seems to be another test.
From the windows a green mist swirls,
Is it a shadow of our bestial reflection?
An apparition in moon beams bathed,
A voice like wind whispering through the trees.
Cool rain on hot summer stones,
The odor fills my presence.
Of freshly dug graves,
And death and night.
These things are her essence,
My nocturnal mistress too.
Your mouth of wine and smoke,
My goddess of the violet twilight.
You are lust incarnate,
In the sweat of my bed.
Alone and awake I lie exhausted,
Oh it's the mornings I most hate.
Answer: PECULIAR!!!
SUPERB!!!!
BRAVO!!!
But u seem to fall out on the first line of the last stanza.
Why do u contradict yourself??
that is by addressing the object of your idea, which is "lust" as being "lust incarnate". or are u describing the "goddess" as lying in bed with u to become the "lust incarnate??"
But u addmitted you were alone and awake at the third line.
Do something with this constructive criticism, and i admit u will come out with a more superior review of the poem!!!
keep it up!!!
Question: Your experience! Anyone had LIPO? I am seriously considering tumescent liposculpture around my abdomen & waist. Has anyone had it done? How did it go? Any advise? And are there any experiences or stories of it going wrong (other than tara reid)?
Great 1st reply. I will be in my mid thirties if I go with it at the time I think I`ll be ready (after my babies). I am healthy and 55kg. I have a pouch (but not all droopy) that even when Ive been fitter is still there, and it is noticable against an otherwise good figure.
I have been doing research, this question is part of it. I`m sure there are bad case studies, and good ones. I just havent found much of them when I google. In fact I havent found any bad ones yet.
Answer: Yupper... You do not state your age or health, so I would advise you to be cautious - the older, and the more frail you are, the more likely I would suspect that you will have problems about a year or two AFTER the procedure - just based on looking at people I know who had the surgery...
The problems occured a year or two later or three, - one on an airplane, where the air pressure and immobility triggered a clot to move, which killed the person in a month. The second case was more or less the same thing - a heart attack, again from a clot that had moved from ' somewhere'... ( both people had the lipo near the same time, and both people died near the same time... )
Please do a WEB search for actual case studies of people who have done the procedure and look at the 1 to 5 years AFTER to see what the general health of the person was.... I have not seen an official study, but I would be suspicious.
My personal " guess" would be that you are better off spending two years or so on a solid weightloss and exercise program, since at the end of the program you would be in BETTER condition! Shortcuts are just that. Exactly what is being cut short would be the question...
If you watch TV programs of people who have the severe stomach staple and lipo, they seem happy immediately after, but the TV programs do not show the people 5 years later...
Sorry to be negative, since you are obviously hoping the lipo will solve your image transformation, but please do your research...
