Scalp Extension
Hair-bearing scalp is gradually expanded with a saline-filled balloon causing more skin with hair to grow
Question: How do you know when weave extensions are destroying your scalp? It has been 2-3 weeks since i got my weave extensions put in.. my scalp is constantly itchy - and the point where the weave starts i have skin flaking...
sounds disgusting... i know. But I do not experience any pain, I just get irratating itchiness at times.
Is this natural for weave extensions?
Answer: thats all cos you need to wash underneath it and can't its also due to the hair not being able to shed as normal. it all normal for a weave
Question: Why cant you put hair extensions on your scalp? Why cant you put hair extensions on your scalp?
Answer: I'm sure that would be a painful surgical procedure. It's much safer to braid your hair and then braid the extensions into your hair.
Why would you want to sew extensions into your scalp anyway?
Question: How can I get rid of hair extension glue on my scalp? I just removed my extensions and theres glue residue. =( I just removed my glued in hair extensions with hair bond remover oil...all of my extensions are gone...however now there is glue residue all over my scalp. It looks like I have major dandruff! HELP PLEASE! I tried putting conditioner in my hair and blow drying it (because someone on Yahoo said it might work) and it didn't. I washed my hair twice already, and it still didn't work. Help please!!
Answer: Hey.. Im a stylist. I usually sew my weaves in, but in the case that I have someone in my chair with your problem, I use Isoplus Additions Bond Removal Creme Shampoo , You can get it at most Sally beauty Supply Stores. Its the only product I know that works. I never go to sallys, but they carry stuff like that, so you may want to try it. Put on scalp and leave sit for a sec and just gently massage scalp. Dont scrub or you'll have a matted mess. Hope this helps. :)
Question: is there an extension glue that you CAN glue to your scalp? i bought an extension glue to attach other things to my head, rather than extensions. i wanted the pieces to be their own stand alone 'strands of hair' for lack of a better word but i didnt want to destroy my real hair in the process. the glue i found said to not attach to scalp. so i guess the question at hand is, is there an extension glue that you can attach directly to your scalp, and if not, what happens if you do?
only answer if you actually have some legit advice, rather than an opinion or guess of what would happen. i could guess too.
the first three answerers are totally off from what my general question is, honestly. im not gluing hair in at all. im actually going to attach ribbon to my hair. i dont want to ruin my actual hair though, so i wanted to attach it to my scalp, rather than my already over-processed hair. and i wanted to know if this was a possibility to attach to the scalp.
Answer: OK the type u are talking about is that the hair is on a single strand , which is called hair infusion and u can attach the hair by using a hair glue gun, that will melt the fake hair into the real hair but u dont put this near ur scalp. if u want this method done, go to the salon to get this because it takes alot of time doing this. Now the other type is, u can just buy regular hair glue that comes in black(dark weave) or blonde(light weaves) depending what type of hair u are getting, measure the amount of hair u want, cut it, then apply a thin line of glue( make sure ur hair is wash and there is no grease in ur hair, this will make the track to slip out) apply the track onto the scalp by pressing firmly around and wait to dry or use a blow dryer by pressing at the same time.
I BEEN USING HAIR GLUE FOR AWHILE FOR MY HAIR STYLES AND NEVER IN MY LIFE THAT I WENT BALD OR MY HAIR NEVER WAS DRY OR FALLED OUT. IT DEPENDS ON WHO IS DOING IT AND HOW MUCH THEY KNOW OF THAT SKILL. SO DONT LET THAT OTHER GIRL THAT GAVE U AN ANSWER TO SCARE U ABOUT WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO UR HAIR WHILE USING GLUE.. IF U NEED MORE ON HOW TO TAKE THE GLUE OUT JUST ASK ME
Question: How Do You Do Scalp Plaits With Hair Extensions In? I Have 18'' Glue-In Hair Extensions, And I Really Want Someone To Do Scalp Plaits In My Hair. Only Problem Is, Is That Its Hard To Plait Because The Bond (The Lining At The Top That Holds The Hair Together) Is Visible Because You Need To Pull Your Own Hair And It's Gonna Be Visible. I Cant Be Bothered For My Real Hair To Grow. Any Solutions, Please? Thanks :D
Answer: If you are referring to cornrows.... Don't do them with a glue- in you will see it. Also glue in will break you hair off so please don't do them anymore they are cheaper but not worth having all that damage. If you need to do extensions spend the money on fusion ones which do less damage. You can also just get your hair braided which is like $100 in a salon. Go to a beauty supply store and buy loose packs of hair and the person who does it will be able to braid your hair into the artifical hair if they do it well it will look just like it's your own
Question: What's the best treatment for a very itchy scalp with hair extensions? Since I have had them, my scalp itches unbearably. I can't use Head and Shoulders as that apparently loosens the bond. Any ideas? Help, before I tear them out!!
Answer: From my girlfriend....
It depends how long you've had them for. Your scalp can freak out for the first week or so as the hairs are all pulled together and the hair follicles have extra weight on them, so you have to allow it to settle anyway.
After that, you could try using neutragena T-Gel, I used this, I'm not too sure how it technically reacts with the bonds, but it did help my scalp and I didn't lose any extensions.
Or you could try bathing you head in very cool water as this will be soothing.
At night, plait your hair as this keeps the bonds from getting frizzy on your scalp and will stop there being any extra stress on your head.
And one last thing you can try if you extensions are a few weeks old, is to trim the roots off the dead hair that can't naturally shed. These can tickle and irritate your scalp. Get a friend to do this or you might just end up looking odd as you cut chunks in your hair!
Good luck!
Question: how to soothe the itching of my scalp from clip in hair extensions? Hello, i purchased clip in human hair extensions at sallys' and i have had no problem with them at all other than the itense itching i get on my scalp when they are in. i have washed my extensions and my real hair and scalp and they just feel uncomfterble and itchy. is there anyway to stop the itching?
thankss
Answer: Maybe try keeping them a little looser from your scalp? the clip may just be pulling your hair and skin a bit too much.
Question: Why does my scalp itch so badly after having extensions put in? I recently had extensions put in and ever since my head has been itching horribly. There are little red bumps on my scalp and they are what itch. I've tried putting hydrocortisone cream on it, but it only helps breifly.
I recently had extensions sewn in and ever since my head has been itching horribly. There are little red bumps on my scalp and they are what itch. I've tried putting hydrocortisone cream on it, but it only helps breifly.
Answer: There are three reasons for your scalp irritation. one being tht your braids as probably mentioned, are too tight. Secondly, you may have dry scalp, which causes irritable itch,( i have), thirdly, depending on the method used to put the extensions in, like (glue or thread), your scalp may be sensitive or bothered by the two.
Since you mentioned tht you have bumps on the scalp, i would go with dryness of, or sensitivity to the products or type of hair being used. If the bumps are around the nape of the neck, and the lining of the head, i think you have had your braids in "too tight", which can cause the irritable feeling, and itch you described.

Question: How can I get hair extension glue out of my hair? I removed my extensions today and it took like 4 hours to get all them out. I used glue remover, conditioner, olive oil, baby oil, and finally got the extensions out. But now I still have glue stuck all in my hair! I have bald spots and badly broken pieces of hair from trying to get the extensions out.
How can I get the rest of the glue out of my hair? And off my scalp without getting more bald spots and broken hair?
Answer: Acetone nail polish remover. I had to have a sleep study and had these electrodes glued to my head all night. The electrodes had to stay in all night and not come loose, so it was some pretty sturdy glue. The next morning, the tech removed the electrodes and rubbed the spots with Acetone nail polish remover and the glue came right out. Get good brand name stuff, the stuff the professionals nail techs use would be best. You should also treat yourself to a deep conditioning hair treatment. You sound like your hair is really damaged.
Question: How do women with hair extensions wash their scalp ?
Answer: it really easy...i had those hair lengths ones and it was just like my real hair...but then i got the ones they glue on your head and those were a pain in the butt! it depends on what u get
Question: What Hair Oil treatment should i use on my scalp when I have extensions?
Answer: Softsheen Optimum Oil Therapy Shine Booster with coconut, olive, avocado and jojoba oil is great. It's light, effective, leaves your hair shiny and smelling great. I love it. Profective has some great products too. And African Royale Daily Doctor and (M.O.M.) Miracle Oil Moisturizer are products I swear by. I've used them for the past two years and my hair has never been so healthy. Also remember to take your vitamins and drink plenty of water to nourish your hair from the inside out. Try and keep heat styling to a minimum. Good luck and enjoy.
Question: My hair is thinning and I want to make it thicker. I heard of the Japanese hair extension? that also is being done for males. My hair is not too long but it ain't short. I heard that they tie real hair to your own hair at the base of the scalp....they blend it in and makes your hair look thicker and the extensions they use look natural.
Has anyone seen someone that has had this procedure done.....does it look good??
Is this a good idea???? Anyone recommend???
I know its only a temporary solution!
Answer: Here is a homeopathic remedy that I have shared a number of times with friends and family.
Once every other day take one capsule of Oil of Evening Primrose and one Black Currant supplement. These can be purchased at your local health food store. Alternate the supplements from one day to the other so that your system doesn't get too used to one or the other.
You should see results. Good luck.
Question: How does hair extension works? Well I know I'm a bit slow but what I know is that it's like locks of hair glued&bonded or sew in. But is it good for the scalp & can we remove and bond them back in easily by ourselves? Or must hair professionals do it for us?
heh, I just find it pretty to see people with hair extensions but I already have long hair..
So how exactly does it works & can people notice if we wear hair extensions?
Ohk hope some of you can help me in answering & [ps:the best answer is open! for me to choose]
have a nice day &bye!
Answer: It depends on the hair extensions. you can get clip in extensions and yeah its kinda obvious with them (you also clip them in yourself so no you dont need a poffesional to do it) you can also get professionally glued in hair extensions. you need a proffesional to glue and bond the hair with the extensions but you can't really tell that they're fake.
Question: Does doing strand by strand hair extensions irritate your scalp besides the normal tension at first? Would strand by strand extensions cause bleeding of the scalp of any kind
Answer: Only if u scratch it immediately afters or put rubber bands or hair holders on that pull your hair. Strand by strand can cause your scalp to scale up and produce more dandruff because the tightening of the hair at the root pulls the skin. Use a very good moisturizer the day before. My in laws use mayonnaise, it stinks but it really helps because they have naturally long thick hair.
Question: What can I do for a extremely sensitive scalp? My scalp is extremely sensitive due to i dont know what exactly but it hurts when I touch it. When I wear weave/extensions it really irritates it to the point where I'm always scratching it non stop 24/7. That is fatiguing. At one point last year it was bleeding and dug in. Even when I wash it the iritable feeling will start like within a day or two. Does anyone have any suggestions of why or what may be causing this??? and how I can treat it??
Answer: do deep conditioning treatments, oil treatments regularly. this will make ur scalp healthy.
Question: where do you glue the hair extensions on scalp or hair root?
Answer: hair root? i'm pretty sure anyway
Question: How do you braid to the scalp?!?!?!? I've been doing a lot of my friends hair lately because I'm getting my portfolio together for school, and a lot of them have requested hair extensions. I did two of my friends by gluing them in. I really want to know how exactly i do it by sewing it to a braid. I need to know how to braid to the scalp so i can do this!!!!! Can someone please help me!??!?!?!?!?
The thing is, i don't even know how to braid to the scalp... thats my question.... i need to know how to do that so i can sew the extensions in.....
Answer: do a skiny french braid across the head (from side to side, not top to bottom) use darning needle and heavy thread and sew
Question: I want extensions would you recommend the kind that you glue on ur scalp for a first timmer like me? I watched a girl on youtube do it step by step and it looked somewhat possible for me 2 do...I am not trying to offend anyone but I have only seen it on black girls hair and not sure if you think it would look funny on a white girl like me??? Thank god my mixed kids came out boys I shave their heads untill their old enough to decide how they want it...LOL
Answer: I had those and they stay in for a while but they're not as good as the professional ones that they kind of sew on to your real hair. Also clip ins are good, they don't fall out ea silly like you'd think they would. that way if you don't like it you can just unclip them. but if you glue them in then you have to use a special deep cleansing conditioner and even then you'll still have little chunks of glue stuck in your hair that you'll have to pull out yourself (painful) or wait and condition again the next day.
The professional kind are always better no matter what the method is because if you're a first timer it will be easier to make a mistake and mess up your hair big time.
I myself prefer the glue in ones, (because they're the best method I've tried) but its a better idea to use the sewn in ones. if you glue them in though don't make the same mistake I did my first time a few years ago - I used the hot glue gun they recommended to me. Never again.
I'm a mega white girl with black hair and they look fine on me just as long as your tracks aren't visible it should look fine.
Question: When girls get those thousands of little braids close to their scalp, how do they wash their hair? I've always wondered this....
Girls, mainly black girls, get their hair extensions in all sorts of little braids close to their scalp. sometimes its fake hair, sometimes its real, but how do these little braids get washed with out them getting all frayed and junk? how does the scalp get washed??
I'm just really extremely curious
Answer: Yeah, we're all curious about something we don't really know about. People think that braided hair can't be washed, and that is completely untrue - that's actually unhygienic. Braids are meant to be washed, but some people are uneducated and misinformed. I've done braids, gotten them and I always wash them. I have to admit, it's not like washing my own hair when I scrub wildly, because I have to take caution when I have braids and wash it like it's silk - very carefully and slowly. Then I rinse, and put a good leave-in (like Infusium) and I'm done.
