Question: What costs more phalloplasty or metoidioplasty? What costs more phalloplasty or metoidioplasty and what do they both cost each. Also how much does chest surgery cost?

Answer: From what I've heard from a few friends in real life... It's like this: Phalloplasty is usually around $7k, but of course it depends on what insurance you have, location, and how good the doctor is. OR how greedy the doctor is. I'm sure it can be $2k more expensive or $2k cheaper in some cases. Metoidioplasty I had to look up on the internet lol. I can't find specific costs, but three sources I found say anywhere from $2k-$20k.

Question: LGBT: Why do transsexual men usually prefer metiodioplasty over phalloplasty? I mean.. if you use metiodioplasty, its just so little. Its like a micropenis... How is this better than phalloplasty?

Answer: Put it this way Denver, i know a guy who had a phalloplasty done and while he was cooking dinner one night he practically fried his own penis on the stove without realising. By the time he realised his penis was leaning on the stove he had third degree burns on it. That's how much sensation you have in a phalloplasty, he didn't even know his penis was burning. Metiodioplasties are safer and retain full sexual function and sensation with less surgical risks. Don't you know that size doesn't matter? At least meta guys can get sucked all the way down. You gotta look at the positives lol.

Answer: I agree with Mykell. It probably has to do with the pigmentation difference between the donor site and the graft area.

Answer: well, the suspensory ligament is what makes the penis stand during erection so if you have that procedure done expect your penis to just hang regardless of the state it is in.

Answer: In general, phalloplasty involves grafting tissue from elsewhere on the body to create the shaft of the penis. The grafted tissue is skin and subcutaneous tissue, not erectile tissue, so it isn't capable in itself of erection. In the past, silicon rods were used, but these had the disadvantage of creating a permanently erect penis; so an artificial saline pump mechanism is now used instead. Metoidoplasty, and some forms of combined meto-phalloplasty, use the erectile tissue from the clitoris; these are capable of erection without artificial aids. It isn't possible to use a donor; as with any transplant, there are issues of tissue rejection, and the 'plumbing' involved is too complex.

Answer: Where's the question? Can your penis get hard after phalloplasty? Yes, with assistance (pumps, viagra, ect). Can you feel it? Not as well as with a met or "natural" penis (ie. no surgery), but it's not completely numb unless something went wrong.

Answer: Metoidioplasty is growing your clit to represent a penis. Phalloplasty is basically a cut-n-paste of skin/another part of your body, shaping and conditioning it to be a penis, then putting it in the right place. Phalloplasty looks better, but it's just long and numb, more satisfying for the visual appeal. Metoidio ends up SUPER ugly, pink, and short, but it works better in reference to feeling it down there and...well, it works more like someone who was born with a penis. If you check out actual, non-enhanced visual results of people who have undergone this, as well as mastectomy, there's a good chance you'll never want to do it any of those things. I was turned off to it instantly. Also, when you're looking these up, don't look at professionals or pictures from doctor websites; they enhance the pictures and pick the best of the best results for snapshots. Try finding personal blogs where they'll give you the real deal and not a fairy tale transition.

Answer: you're asking as an FtM, right? personally, if you're thinking of big, thick, long penis, i suggest you to go with phalloplasty. metoidioplasty only lengthen to an average of 4-5 cm. but, as you should know phalloplasty is more complicated than metoidioplasty. so, if you're not ready to take the risk of failing, i suggest you to go with metoidioplasty. but i think with today's technology, everything is possible. good luck!

Question: Why do people have opposed views towards Phalloplasty? I'm considering having the surgery, but have been hearing mixed opinions about the procedure. Answer: your name is christine and you want phalloplasty? okay... anyway, it's really really expensive (though some govts pay for it) and the results aren't that great. maybe you can pass in the locker room, but that's the best part, from what i understand. there are other cheaper techniques which cost a lot less and you'll still have sensation, but you'll have a very small penis. better than nothing, in my opinion, but i'm not going to force it on my husband.

Answer: Why the hell are going to do the enlargement surgery? In my opinion god gives everybody the same things. Some ppl get more in some aspects and some ppl get less in some aspects. If the girl you want to marry measures you by your penile size then she is not the one for you!! Be happy with what god has given you. There is a reason why we are born into this world. Question: Has anyone had ftm surgery (phalloplasty) done by Dr Sava Perovic.? I've recently been reading about this guy, Perovic who is supposed to do a great phalloplasty using skin from under the arm as a pose to from the thigh or forearm. Has anyone had this done by Mr Perovic? I cant find any independent testimonials apart from whats on his website. It all looks too good to be true but i'm really keen, just have reservations about having it done by someone i've never heard of. Any news appreciated.

Answer: Sorry, but you'll probably have more success with an answer in the GLBT section of Yahoo Answers. I looked him up, though, and I admit that he looks pretty good. All that I can say is that you might want to check info on him from the "Medical Tourism in Thailand" site and watch out for the scam they cite. I think that the way that they described his skill and results is a good sign, given that they're not affiliated with him. Good luck, man.
