im only 18 and they are pretty noticeable
Answer: Short of ripping them off, there is no way but surgery.
Question: how to get rid of nasolabial fold with surgery? is there a way to fill up this line
im only 18 n they are pretty noticeable
typo i meant without
Answer: There are ways that a plastic surgeon can reduce these lines.
There are simple injections that can sometimes be enough, to surgery similar to a face lift where the skin of your face is cut along the hair line and then pulled and stretched.
But everyone has nasolabial folds to a certain degree and you are young. Plastic surgery should be a last resort and you should really consider if they really are that bad
Question: Hey i have sorta chubby cheeks and its causing an slight Nasolabial Fold what i do to make the line less defin
Answer: Moisturizer and a lighter shade of foundation along the fold.
Losing about five or ten lbs make help reduce those cute chubby cheeks, usually shows up in your face first.
Meanwhile, smile(with your eyes, too) and no one will focus on that ol' fold.
Question: Nasolabial Fold starting on one side of face - help!? This is really weird, this crease and it is deepening only on one side - forget fine lines, my aging is beginning full throttle- what can I do specifically about this ugly fold????? Will any creams even help???????
PS - I just turned the big 3-0. Isn't that a little young to start aging this badly I mean? I don't drink or smoke.
Answer: Quick question - does that happen to be the side of your face that you sleep on? The position we sleep in affects the skin on our faces. We can develop what are called sleep lines, the result of our faces lying on the pillow for hours each night for years. Sleep on your side and you can develop them on your chin and cheeks. Sleep on your stomach and face and you'll probably develop them on your forehead. Sleep on your back and you'll avoid sleep lines.

Question: What treatment(s) are recommended for nasolabial folds if thickened overlying skin ALSO occurs on upper side? Are fillers still appropriate as what I appear to have is a thickened passage of overlying skin above (causing) the fold as well as effectively a 2nd "fold" above this overlying thickened passage of skin occuring (to visualise - higher fold appears parallel with nasolobial fold and is approx. 1.5cm wide between folds giving the appearance of a rectangular elevated/inflammed passage of skin (shorter ends being connected between the sides of the nose and cheek pad)). The info I have read so far on this only seem to speak of fillers being injected in the area above the upper lip. Are there fillers/procedures that will also inject on the upper side of my elevated passage to compliment the injection to the 'normal' area and reduce the visibility of both folds/elevated passage.
Answer: Hi - yes, the fillers that are used in lips can also be used in your face. Restylane is the best as you cannot be allergic to it (you don't need an allergy test. I have my lips done and my nose to mouth lines and it is very effective.
There are many types of Restylane - some are thick so can only be used in the lips - the more modern ones are really much thinner and can be used in the lips and as you want, the nose to mouth lines and folds. I tried a new one recently - under the trade name of Kiss but had a drug name beginning with T - sorry can't remember the exact name.
I have my done about twice a year - it is relatively painfree and the results are immediate. It also seems to be that the more I have it, the less I need it - maybe it leaves a little build up which is fine by me! Go to a good clinic for advice.
Question: what is the best treatment for nasolabial folds lines? Dermal fillers or does nothing work? or do you look artificial with these fillers. Anyone have a good solution that looks great?
Answer: Your best bet is to go to a doctor and get a consultation. There are several types of fillers available depending on how deep your lines are. Most often they use restalane (sp?). If you doctor is good, they can look pretty good. Sometimes, they excise them with surgery. Sometimes you need a face lift. Many plastic surgeon have websites that explain all of these treatments.
Question: Is there any way to disguise my pronounced nasolabial folds (smile lines)? They're not due to age, I'm only 21. Nor are they due to weight, I'm thin. But they have always seemed to be a little more prominent on me than on others my age. They are most visible in photos, so I always end up looking much older in pictures. :( I rarely see them other than in photos, but I am getting married soon, and would like to have some decent pics.
I don't want any injections or plastic surgery. Any facial exercises, natural remedies, or makeup tips would be appreciated though!
thanks!
Answer: Get some line filler from Avon or go the expensive route with Serious Skin Care off HSN. It also helps to expeirement with concealers. Try a cream one, after your make up & then use a dab of powder to blend it in...
Fir good pics too, use high light of white on your forehead, upper cheek bone & outside upper brow bone.
Question: Pronounced nasolabial folds at a young age.help? I'm young and I have no wrinkles but I always had pronounced nasolabial folds...there's no saggy skin or anything but they're really pronounced. is there a natural way to treat it...remember there's no saggy sking and it's not like older people when they starting getting wrinkles it's just pronounced and no one I know with my age has anything like it
sorry for the mistakes...can't edit this shit.
Answer: I have a little bit of that.
I find anti-ageing cream does actually help a bit. The stuff with skin plumping, makes it appear less noticable.
But also a good concealor will help too.
But I don't know of any permanent solution, but I haven't really looked into it.
Question: hello i want to ask something about my nasolabial folds? hello guys :)
So, i realized that ever since year 7 i had these two lines that started from my nose all the way down to the corner of my mouth. I found out that they are called nasolabial folds. But i am only 14 years old, year 8, so how can i have this? I havent gone through puberty yet, my parent say they will disappear as i go through puberty. My nasolabial folds are not deep, it is very light, but it separates my lips from my cheeks so my cheeks look saggy and it shakes a lot. I am a boy and skinny, how can i get rid of this?? Is it even a nasolabial fold or is it something else? Sorry it is too long, thank you :)
Answer: You are young. You probably will grow into your chubby face. Just give it time!
Good Luckk
Question: Can botox be used for softening nasolabial folds (lines around mouth)? The lines I have are deep closer to the nose and I don't like the idea of collagen fillers to "correct" them. I've got a very expressive smile and was wondering if I could tone it down without losing the ability to smile. Thanks so much for your time!
Answer: Don't use botox if you want to be at all expressive. Botox is a form of botulism: A NEUROTOXIN! It essentially shuts down your nerves and disables your nerve-muscle connection -- therefore "flattening" or "relaxing" the area treated.
Collagen would probably be a better idea if you really want to go the plastic surgery route (and yes, these "treatments" are ALL plastic surgery). Fillers don't stop your normal muscle function, only "soften" lines. Keep in mind though, that none of these things are 100% -- fillers can shift and cause reactions within your skin. Always talk all options through with your dermatologist/plastic surgeon.
Question: Will I get Nasolabial Folds from chewing gum/botting drinking, etc? I am 18, and lately I've just started getting into the addiction of chewing gum and one time I looked in the mirror while I was chewing and I notice when I chew, more so with my mouth open, that nasolabial folds occur, especially on the left side on of my face! When I'm chewing on the left side I can see twitches and creases on the nasolabial/laughter lines of the left side of my face, but then when I chew on the right side, no creases occur. Why is that? Also, will chewing the gum eventually lead to permanent nasolabial folds on my face? When I look very very closely under a fluorescent light mirror I could swear I could see the indention of them, but the width of a pinhole. My mother says those lines are on everyone if you look close all over the skin. Although I think they are the beginning of nasolabial folds. What do you think?
And also, I used to think these folds come just from smoking. Although I notice when I'm drinking out of bottles, spitting my tooth paste out, or puckering my lips (kissy face), I am tightening the muscles around my mouth like cigarette smokers do. Will these actions also led to those lines?
Thanks for everyone who answers. Again, I am 18 and I just want to take care of my face and preserve healthy skin as long as I can. Thank you.
Answer: I think you're over reacting and looking at your face to much. Focusing will give you crows feet.
Question: 20 with thinning hair, a few grey strays and nasolabial line? Help!? I'm 20, and I have been having thinning hair, for which I am using Minoxidil ( and if anybody used this, please share!) . I also have 5 or 6 grey hairs.
But I also noticed nasolabial folds one day when I woke up. I wax (use hot wax) on my upper lip area to get rid of the unwanted facial hair...do you think that that is the root of my problem or just smiling a lot caused my nasolabial folds and laugh line area wrnkles (lines from smiling located between the nose and mouth area)? What's the best moisturizing cream for this?
Anyways these 2 problems: thinning hair and laugh lines aren't supposed to come this early are they...? I'm only 20! Is there something wrong with me?
oh just some more info, no I don't smoke or drink in fact.
Answer: Do you smoke? that can cause the laugh lines.
And the hair problems are most likely genetic.
Question: I'm only 24 and my nasolabial folds are very noticable...? When I'm in pictures I look like a farm animal with a snout... they make me feel horrible.
When I was little I didn't wear sunscreen because my family didn't have any money. To make matters worse, I'm also a red-head. My skin has always been off colored and very sensitive but now I have all of this sun damage to go along.
Is there anything I can do, buy or even concoct to make these folds less noticeable or even go away? I hate the way I look because of them. I feel I look very aged. I've had a good skin care routine for the past few years and I feel hopeless.
Answer: only way you can change the shape of your nose is plastic surgery.
Question: Whats a good way to get rid of Wrinkles for a 15 year old(home remedy)? Under eye and nasolabial fold. i hate having wrinkles this young but i smile way to much and now i have all these wrinkles!!! aaa!
Answer: Honey, you are waaaaay too young to be worrying about wrinkles. So what if you smile a lot, that's a good thing!!! It shows that you're enjoying life. Stop worrying about what you look like and just enjoy yourself sweetheart. :)
Question: are you choosy when it comes to mirrors and where they are positioned?or you like to see yourself anywhere? I think I look very different in different mirrors.
do you prefer to see yourself in mirrors when there's dailight or artificial lightning?
I look soooo ugly when I see myself near a window in broad daylight, you can see my nasolabial folds and it's all weird.
Answer: It's not the mirror that makes you look different (unless of course you're talking about convex/concave mirrors); it's the lighting. Different kinds of light expose your appearance to the mirror differently. For example, I look horrible under bright white light, but better under yellow lights. So it's the light that should be considered before positioning the mirror. You should neither place it directly under light, nor in a dark corner of the room. It should be positioned in an area with moderate light.
Question: Where can I get Botox in the NY, NJ or PA area? Just moved here! Live close to NYC, new jersey and not too far from Pennsylvania. I am freaking out. Dont know where to get my botox and dermal fillers done. I use Juvederm in my lips and Radiesse for nasolabial folds. Get botox in forehead and crows feet. Hubby gets it under his arms. HELP! Need good licensed recommendations
Answer: facesnewyork.com does the best
they are safe and licensed and use techniques that work
Question: If you stop smiling will it reduce my wrinkles....? I have deep nasolabial folds. If I stop smiling will they reduce over time? Or will it at least slow them down? I started getting them at 24. They are hereditary. Now, at 29 they are twice as deep. At this rate I will look like a hound dog by 35. I already look much older than I am because of them.
I have smile lines AND nasolabial folds. They both make downwards lines on my face. It's horribly unattractive.
Answer: Hi,, sounds like you now why you have wrinkles, and it doesn't sound like they are caused from smiling. And you can't stop smiling, It would take the joy out of your life ,, then you'd really feel bad. Talk to a doctor about the wrinkles, if it's hereditary, then you already pretty much what can be done for it. PLz don't give up smiling.
Question: I'm interested in the product HMako was talking about...? Could you HMako, send me some more info on the Arbonne wrinkle fill-pen you said you saw working so quick... Can it be used for nasolabial folds? Is it a cream based product? How long does the effect last? I have tried a few products but they never delivered what promised. Anyone knows this product? I would be interested to also hear from someone who actually used it and has first hand experience with it.
Answer: I'm 24 so I haven't personally used this particular product but I can say that I love Arbonne! All of Arbonne's products are botanically based, pH correct, hypoallergenic, never tested on animals, certified vegan, and dermatologist tested. Question: What do you think of my lunch time poem?? AND...How about supplying a few more lines...(for fun!!)? WRINKLES
What are these lines upon my face,
And why oh why won't they erase?
I've slathered on expensive creams,
had endless facials, so it seems...
Yet still my brow has furrows deep,
It truly makes me want to weep!
Where once was dewy sparkling skin,
Is now a face like Gunga Din!
No more plump and rosy cheek,
no more face that makes men weak!
"Grow old gracefully" say my peers.
BUT I want to erase the years!
So off I go for a nip and tuck...
(I hope you all will wish me luck!)
When I return I will be brand new!
(with hopefully nothing gone askew!!!)
The slackened skin on my cheek border
Is where you soon will bounce a quarter!!
The little pouch beneath my jaw,
will disappear and be no more!!
Farewell you nasolabial fold!!
You will no longer make me old!!
My droopy lids will stand at attention!
My entire face will regain it's dimension!!
But will this really make me happy??
Or will I still feel just as crappy???
Answer: When, in the mirror, looking back at me,
A face I don't even remember from 23
The problem with a face so new and improved
Is that also, with time, other features have moved
Will the clerk again card me for liquor at the store?
Or refrain, seeing boobs sagging south toward the floor?
Question: Have You Tried Botox, Laser Procedures, Fillers, or Other Cosmetic Procedures? I am 27, and I am starting to notice nasolabial folds (smile lines). It's barely noticeable to most people, and I am told I look young for my age, but it bothers me anyway to the point where I am considering a cosmetic procedure to delay further signs of aging. Wanted to see if anyone else here has had facial cosmetic procedures and what their experiences have been like. Thanks for any serious responses.
Answer: I haven't had any YET, but I think if it will make a person look better and feel better about themselves, then go for it. And I think ANYTHING can be addicting only if you allow it to be!
