Answer: Yes, losing hair at 17 is a problem, may be it is hereditary. Frankly, I have no idea wht is Minoxidil. If you are in doubt, you can consult another dermatologist.also, try using a mixture of olive and mustard oil or Mahabhringraj oil. apply a paste of reetha, anwla and shikakai (soaked overnight) for one hour before washing it off completely.
Question: How many milliliters of each must be used to have 125 milliliters of a 15% Minoxidil solution? Minoxidil is a drug that is used to prevent male pattern baldness. Xandrax15 is a 15% Minoxidil solution in a 125 Milliliter bottle. A chemist in the lab has a supply of 5% Minoxidil solution and a supply of 30% Minoxidil solution.
Answer: ml of 5% Minoxidil solution (x):
0.05x + 0.3(125 - x) = 0.15(125)
0.05x + 37.5 - 0.3x = 18.75
0.25x = 18.75
x = 75
ml of 30% Minoxidil solution:
= 125 – 75
= 50
Answer: 75 ml of 5% and 50 ml of 30% Minoxidil solution
Question: How important is it to actually massage minoxidil into the scalp? When you use minoxidil, it it enough to just have it on the scalp or is it important to actually rub or massage it in?
Answer: Hi,
Its obvious you want to know more about hair loss treatment with special reference to Minoxodil. This particular treatment is prescribed by doctors after examination of ones hair scalp or texture in other to provide hair loss solution to the person involved.
When this is prescribed the person is expected to use Minoxidil as directed, but Minoxidil can be rubbed into the scalp to help combat hair loss. This kind of treatment works well when it is used continuously because failure to use will bring back your hair in its former condition. If you are using it, try and rub it well on your scalp and continuosly.

Question: What are the opinions on the anti balding drug minoxidil? I'm about to enter my 30's but my head has started balding quite rapidly.. I've heard about minoxidil but am worried that it will come with some "fun" side effects. Is it safe to play with my health or just suffer in silence?
Answer: Stop being a twat, shave your head! It will look cool, we dont live in the 70's where baldness was embarrassing, it's cool to be follickly challenged. Forget the drugs, you were meant to lose your hair, look at the actors that went bald naturally and compare them to the toupee'd ones, looks much more natural

Question: is there any evidence that relates MINOXIDIL to testicle problems? I had been using it for about 4 months, my sexdrive decreased a bit. The real problem is that I have left testicle pain. After ultrasound and urologist visits they said it's just swollen. 2 weeks antibiotics and i still have pain... I am 33 and I never had problems before. Can all this be related to minoxidil usage?
Answer: DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using minoxidil, tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medications you are taking, especially of: guanethidine, other drugs used for high blood pressure. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Question: Red spots appear on face after using Minoxidil 5% for 2 weeks? Dear all,
I am a little bit panic now. I have started using Minoxidil 5% since two weeks ago. Everything seems fine at the beginning. However, just a few days ago, I noted there are many red spots appear on my face. Is this a normal process where my body is adapting to the usage of Minoxidil or I should discontinue using Minoxidil?
Answer: People often have similar problems.
You're skin is adapting to new changes, if the product is working but has side effects then you will probly need to wait a little while longer for it to adapt and start using a smaller dosage.
Question: Does Regaine Minoxidil work beyond 48 weeks for hair loss? The box states: "hair regrowth has not been shown to last longer than 48 weeks."
Does this mean they've not tested it beyond 48 weeks in trials, or does it mean it stops having an effect after 48 weeks. If it stops having an effect after 48 weeks, is that a permanent tolerance that the body has built up to it or will it work again after a period of non-use? If it's a permanent tolerance then Minoxidil is only delaying the inevitable by a year which makes it seem almost pointless to me.
Answer: Minoxidil is a vasodilator medication known for its ability to slow or stop hair loss and promote hair regrowth, but measurable changes disappear within months after discontinuation of treatment.
The mechanism by which minoxidil promotes hair growth is not fully understood. Minoxidil is a potassium channel agonist. Minoxidil is less effective when there is a large area of hair loss. In addition, its effectiveness has largely been demonstrated in younger men (18 to 41 years of age). Minoxidil use is indicated for central (vertex) balding only.
I don't know if your using this yet, but i would recommend a Natural remedy that's not harmful to you, but yet effective in helping you gain your hair back.
Provillus has been around for a while and is considered one of the best products for hair loss, Check it out >>>
Question: Does minoxidil really work for hair loss? I know it might depend on why a person's hair is falling out in the first place. I'm not losing but know people who are, and, I might start losing hair later!
Answer: American Academy of Dermatology, one of the most influential dermatology associations in the world, has stated in its campaign in August 2003, that the 2 most efficient solutions for people suffering from hair loss were: minoxidil topical solution, finasteride (better known as Propecia) oral drug and hair transplant.
This in itself could be implied that minoxidil does work because it had undergone many tests to prove its effectiveness before being approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Minoxidil and finasteride can be ingredients for many drugs, but only Rogaine and Propecia are approved for hair loss problems by FDA (first one in 1988 and the other 10 years later).
Both of these hair loss treatments were discovered by chance: initially minoxidil was used for high blood pressure problems and finasteride was used for increased prostate.
Minoxidil grows hair but does not stop hair loss
Rogaine, having minoxidil as active ingredient (in 80% ethanol solution, water and Propylene Glycol) is applied topically twice a day and helps the hair growth with visible effects on the crowns of men's heads and on the forehead areas for women (but it does not cure the hair loss).
Propecia, having 1 mg of finasteride, is taken orally and decreases the level of androgens, the hormone that causes the hair loss.
While we don't no exactly how minoxidil works, for finasteride is quite clear: restrains the action of 5 alpha enzyme and that shrinks the transformation of testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone ). The positive effect is that having less DHT, the miniaturization of the hair follicles will also be decreased. But having a diminished level of testosterone can lead to side effects like: depression, a loss of muscle mass, a decreased sex drive, an erectile dysfunction.
Question: Is it dangerous for someone with prepubescent children to use Minoxidil (in a 5% solution) for hair growth? Minoxidil is a chemical found in products like Rogaine.
I have done some research, but I haven't come up with much.
My main concern is that it will cause early pubery and/or lowering of the voice and facial hair in girls.
Answer: Hi there,
The use of Minoxidil in infants and children is not recommended. If a child has hair loss, discuss it with your doctor. Minoxidil studies have been done only in adult patients.
As far as I read minoxidil under the age of 12 is given in doses way under 5% and can lead to heart problems as side effect... So the use of this drug have to be extremely supervised by a professional. (and I will always take a second professional opinion)
I heard about the use of topical preparation of minoxidil 2% in kids with good result. But again... always under medical supervision.
Hope it helps.
Question: where can i buy propecia and minoxidil in the uk? Hi im from london, uk. where can i buy (preferably not online) Propecia and Minoxidil? Thank You. Also how much for each for a month's use?
Answer: Minoxidil is over the counter in the USA. Propecia is by prescription and was about $50 to $100 per month. I have tried both and I got a reaction (scabs) to the Minoxidil. And after doing the math on the Propecia, I opted to have transplants (about 1000) and have been very satisfied with the results. Some times I think about going back for another few hundred follicular units which you can get for about $2000.
Question: Any side effects for Using minoxidil on the scalp? I've just bought this spary that contains minoxidil (2%) called "Hair back" and I read the pamphlet, it said not to use it if I suffer from blood pressure or heart disorders. It's a spray, I believe any side effects would only be to the skin? I don't really understand it how it can affect the heart or the blood pressure, I'm not swallowing it??! Can someone explain?
Answer: As a drug to combat hair loss, the most common side effect is itchy scalp
If a person uses minoxidil to stop hair loss for a length of time and then stops taking the drug, hair loss will occur again. Other side-effects include:
* acne on the area where it is being used as a topical solution
* headaches and/or lightheadedness
* very low blood pressure
* irregular or fast heart beat
* blurred vision or other vision problems
* decreased sexual desire
* partial, or complete, impotence
* numbness or tingling in the hands, feet or face
* rapid weight gain
* chest pain
Large amounts of minoxidil can cause hypotension
Question: why would rogaine minoxidil make me lose hair? I am a female over the age of 50 and I have recently started using minoxidil (Rogaine for Women) on my scalp for my thinning hair. However, over the course of the past few weeks I have noticed significantly MORE hair loss (in noticeable clumps sometimes). Does Rogaine make you lose hair before you grow new ones? Is there any reason/solution for this other than stopping using the Rogaine (which I already have)?
Answer: This could be a reaction to the medication itself but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
Question: how much Minoxidil preparations is effective for Male pattern baldness? how much Minoxidil preparations is effective for Male pattern baldness?
wts the optimum duration for effective result... n plz also provide me which trade product (using minoxidil as a constituent)is to b used topically?
Answer: I'm not a doctor or pharmacist and wouldn't try to answer your question with a dosage needed to prevent baldness. What I will say is this:
Why bother? Why spend the money? What does the lack of hair on your head have to do with your ability to be a man?
Some men, when going down the road to baldness choose to be proactive and shave their heads. You could try it too when the time comes.
I'm not bald, but began graying very early (16 years). I had some issues with it as I was mostly gray by the time I was 30. You are still the same guy with the same sex appeal regardless of the amount of hair on your head.
If you like yourself, others will too.
Question: Might the application of "Minoxidil" on one's face be a good method to grow a decently full beard? I'm a 17-year-old boy who is sick of having a girly-looking face. By the way, "Menoxidil" is found on Rogaine products and is believed to boost the growth of facial hair. Please let me know anything concerning this worry of mine. Advice/response on your part will be appreciated.
Answer: Some guys have had success with it, but usually at 17 it is not a smart thing to do, since the normal maturing process is going on right now.
Talk to the dudes on the beardboard.
