Besides that you should look into other issues related to traveling abroad, which is your visa, passport, climate, cultural issues and language barrier. Although language is not a problem in India –as most of the people are well verse in English. But you should make sure that you have a reliable hand holding person to guide you through the various steps of getting medical treatment and surgery in India.
Hope this helps.
Question: has any one had a mastopexy with implants let me know what the pain was like? my breast are saggy after breast feeding and this is the only way to sort it out but i am scared of the pain afterwards so please could someone let me know there experance.
Answer: I've spoken to a surgeon at the Bradford Royal Infirmary and he says the pain its pretty similiar to when women have breast implants. You maybe looking at a week or two of pain, and another week or two of discomfort.
Question: Mastopexy + Augmentation? I'm about to get mastopexy plus augmentation which is a lift plus an implant. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. Do you have to have people actually help you dress and do certain things afterwards? How long can you have the surgical bra off while you're taking a shower? Can you get the cuts wet? I also want to go to a theme park sooner or later. I was wondering how long would be a good time to wait until I could go on something such as a roller coaster because I know they jerk you around quite a bit. I'm just curious. I'll probably ask the surgeon later but I just wanted to see what some of you have to say and ease my mind. If there is anything else you want to add then great. Thanks.
p.s. My breasts are uneven so there is absolutely no way I'm turning this opportunity down. Some people don't understand how it feels. Sure I can stuff my bra but it's definately not going to make me feel any better about myself.
Answer: well i have implants and i can tell you that you want to take it easy for the first month. i couldnt lift my arms over my head. so i had to have help with my shirt, jeans, and just reclining back onto a bed or chair because you dont want to put too much force into whatever your doing. i had to sleep on my back for a month. i got knots in my back the first night and i couldnt shower until the next night. you shouldnt try to get the cuts wet...although you will have to shower eventually. i wouldnt go to a theme park too soon. it'll be worth it to just lay around and not lift heavy objects for a month...hope it goes well for you :)

Question: I need suggestions for plastic surgeons in San Antonio for a mastopexy...lift only, no augmentation.? Also if you could reply on the results of the proceedure, as to,is the lift lasting, what was post-op like, and would you do it again knowing now what you know.
Answer: I had a reduction with a breast lift and I love it. no more saggy boobs.
This forum helped me: http://www.breasthealthonline.com
They also have a forum for recommendations for plastic surgeons.
I took two weeks off for work, and bought arnica montana tablets from amazon.com to help with the bruising and swelling. I also used mederma and scarguard on my scars and now they are 95% gone (surgery in Feb '06).
Question: Mastopexy with Augmentation & Breastfeeding...? If a person is looking to have the above procedures performed (due to third degree ptosis), would one expect to be able to continue breastfeeding later in life? I'm not looking for guesses - I'm looking for genuine knowledge - either through experience or through schooling... I know that breast surgeries won't last as long if a person becomes pregnant or decides to breastfeed, but that isn't my question... I just need to know whether or not I would have a good chance at breastfeeding if I have had the above procedures performed (I am currently breastfeeding, so I am considering them in the future)... Which type of mastopexy would be best if I'd like to breastfeed in the future (standard incision, doughnut incision, etc.)?
Thanks so much for the help.
The ptosis is pretty bad (third degree), so I think I'm going to need an anchor incision... I just thought I'd add that in case anybody else would like to add anything...
Answer: yes, it's entirely possible to still breastfeed
It all depends on how they performed the procedure
Here's some info

Question: Mastopexy information...? I am considering having mastopexy for personal reasons (that i won't go into) and surfice to say i have given it years of careful consideration.
I am wanting some information from women that have had this operation or are going to have this operation. Because i am only young, i haven't really come across many women that have had this op and i'd really like to hear from women that have had this. Just general information and as much as you can tell me really.
How was the operation for you? What was the healing time like? What was the pain afterwards like? Scarring? How has it altered your life? Are you happy with the results...etc etc. Anything you can tell me will be brilliant.
(Please DO NO advice me not to have it or give it more thought etc etc...that is not a helpful answer. I have considered it very very carefully and all other avenues have proved fruitless and this is my last resort.)
Many thanks x
Answer: No experience but please choose your surgeon with care, ask your doctor for a recommendation.
Google choosing a plastic surgeon for some idea of what to look out for.
Good luck.
Question: Experiences with Breast Lift Surgery (Mastopexy)? I have a good friend who is considering a Breast Lift Surgery (Mastopexy). She has had very uneven breasts since puberty and she feels they sag (due to very fast growth & skin lost it's elasticity). Her uneven and sagging breasts make her so uncomfortable, she wears nothing but t-shirts, has not been in a bathing suit for 3 years, and changes in closed rooms. She has gotten to the point where I feel her behavior is extreme, and it's worrying me. She thinks a mastopexy would be the answer.
We have googled it and seen before and after pictures, learned about the actual procedure, etc. She knows about the degree of scarring and the healing process but I wanted to find out some personal experiences about it
So if you, a friend/mother/sister/spouse/girlfriend/etc had a mastopexy performed, could you give me some insight?
Here is some of the things I'm wondering about:
- healing time/process, how long was it, was it difficult to deal with all the things you have to do to heal?
- actually surgery, how long are you out of work or unable to go about your normal routine?
- cost...ball park figure would be OK. just want an idea, i know it's different from city to city and state to state.
- scarring, do you think the degree of scarring is worth the result?
and finally, was it worth it?
any other advice is welcomed as well.
Answer: Those are good questions. This is something your friend would need to decide. My suggestion is have your friend talk to me. Some of your questions depend on the patient. I can give your friend advice and probably help her out alot. My suggestion is have her contact me if she wants. I'm a doctor in case your wondering.
Question: Tips for getting a mastopexy, please read? i am 18, and plan on getting a mastopexy (breast lift) as soon as possible. i've never liked my breasts because they are 'tuberous'. i can also only wear the best most expensive bras and wear the straps as tight as possible so as to hold them up, and that even doesn't work sometimes. i really dont like the appearance of my breasts. i have also read that women with smaller breasts have benefit better from mastopexy surgeries. i have a D cup, i was wondering if it would be better to get a reduction to a C cup, and then a breast lift and repairing of the 'tuberous' shape i was born with. anybody have tips, or have a similar experience/already had the surgery so they can tell me about their experience?? anything will help me, thanks!
Answer: Well, I haven't had the surgery myself, but I have always had a sense of dissatisfaction about my breast shape. I am also a D, and I have what you would call teardrop shaped breasts.
What I wanted to tell you is that despite my own dissatisfaction, men have always LOVED my breasts and been very turned on by them. Maybe you dont see your breasts as others do. I wish you the best, whatever you decide.
Question: What is the Islamic take on cosmetic surgery in these instances:? 1) breast reconstruction in the case of a woman with a mastectomy?
2) breast mastopexy and augmentation in the case of a woman with significant droop, skin stretch, and breast tissue loss after multiple pregnancies or after massive weight loss?
3) scar removals?
4) skin rejuvenation procedures: such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion for sun damage?
Thanks in advance.
Well, in the cases of #2,3,4 it can be done for both the purposes of fixing defects AND beautification.
So what then?
Answer: Those procedures are not only done as purely cosmetic, they also have medical necessity in the situations you describe. You're a nurse, so you understand there is a lot of emotional problems that can be associated with a person who has a physical disfigurement or abnormality, whether it be something congenital or acquired. Correcting these problems with plastic surgery can greatly improve a person's quality in life by allowing them to have normalcy which allows them to function in society and feel better about themself.
I guess, Islamically, I would say it comes to intention and reason for having it done. In the situations you describe, it seems like they are being done for medically valid reasons and not shallow, superficial ones, so I think it's OK according to that religion. I don't have sources or links, this is just my thoughts/opinions on what I do know.
Question: Breast Lift / Mastopexy? I wanna know more about it, im 26, I lost weight a few years ago & I'm not happy with how they naturally sit now, can I please hear from people that have had it, worldwide, I'm im the UK now & the photos from the Net all look like they have a seam under the breast afterwards, is this normal or are there different procedures?
Answer: Breast surgery techniques continue to evolve over time. Breast lifts can improve the position, shape and distribution of existing breast tissue. It must also be remembered that effects of gravity and aging will continue and that some amount of sagging may gradually recur over time.
When considering breast lift surgery, patients should be fully informed as the risks as well as the associated alternatives, benefits and the complication of the procedure. A well trained and experienced plastic surgeon will be able to determine the technique best suited to the patient's particular body type and aesthetic goals.
Question: I am having surgery & will be under general anesthesia and currently take flagyl is this safe? I am taking Flagyl for seven days for a bacterial infection but I am scheduled for surgery in the middle of taking this medication. They will put me under general anesthesia for approx 3 hrs for mastopexy, is it safe for me to take flagyl at the same time??
Answer: Yup. Not a problem. Take your medicines as you are directed to by your surgeon.
I'm surprised that your surgeon would do an elective procedure while you have an infection. The guy I work with would postpone your surgery. They really hate when their work gets ruined by bacteria.
Question: Breast Uplift - mastopexy? I am 20yrs old and have saggy breasts (well droopy).size 34 F. I am seeing a plastic surgeon for my first consultation tomorrow, I have a lot of questions etc. But i've not started a family yet, and not planning on having one for a good few years yet. But Its a lot of money a breast lift, and I am worried that when/if I do become pregnant will it ruin my new breasts? Has anyone had this op and then become pregnant how did it affect them? I thought about waiting until I've had a family but if I want 2/3 children I could be well in to my 30's. I want to enjoy them now, when I can wear nice dresses and clothes. Ive never been able to wear things without a bra because they just hang down so low, and theres a big difference in size. But I don't want to go through all of that spend thousands of pounds then think why did I get them done. Any info anyone can give me about anything to do with a breast lift or reduction or anything really lol, would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys,
Charley x
Answer: You should get a reduction with the lift, which would be covered by insurance. If your PS is charging you on the side for the lift, and not the reduction, find another PS because 99.9% include the lift with the reduction (covered by insurance). The .1% who don't you need to run away from.
A reduction with lift can be covered by insurance.
Question: Am I a good candidate for mastopexy (breast lift)? I have been looking into getting a breast lift. I'm not interested in any kind of implants or reduction. I'm only 18 but my breasts resemble many of the "before" pictures I see on the internet. I have a double D cup and I'm not terribly overweight, but I would like to lose a few inches from my waist before surgery. my breasts to waist measurements are 39 to 30. I would be willing to pay about $5,000 for the surgery- which I hear is reasonable.
I'm too young to have my breasts sag like this- thats just insane! Is there any reason I shouldn't have it done or anyway to fix this problem without surgery?
Answer: Jen you have an interesting dilemma. A consultation with plastics surgeon would cost you about $60.00 and the assessment would be specific to your body. I had the lift in my thirties covered by insurance because the weight caused back problems. Before I could go in however I had to loose excess wait. the surgery was much more effective and still looks good.
Question: Will a breast lift make me look smaller? I went to a surgeon today for consultation for breast reduction im a 36D but he recommended me getting a lift instead and said that it would make me look smaller by replacing the nipple higher and lifting them. I forgot to ask if my bra size would decrease... im sitting here wondering about it. im doing research and i read alot of statements that it doesn't decrease your size. My papers say lifting my breast by removing excess skin... im confused now. Has anyone had a standard mastopexy?
Answer: I haven't had one, but my aunt did, and it makes a girl look better. Don't worry if you lose some size. You'll have a much better shape.
Question: Does she look better before or after the bre*st augmentation? http://www.drzwiebel.com/wp-content/gallery/breast-lift-01/breast-mastopexy-01a_0.jpg
Just wondering b/c my boobs are similar to the before shot, and I was considering getting the surgery so I'd probably look like that after picture.
Answer: That's not an augmentation, that's a reduction. And they certainly look younger and perkier.
I think they look pretty nice.
Edit: @Gwyn - That doesn't mean they're not the same person. so she got a hair cut and went tanning.
What got me thinking was the vertical scar in the before on the woman's right abdomen.
I think others are too critical. She's got young looking perky t#ts! At her age that's pretty spectacular.
Question: Question about cosmetic breast surgery? Is there a procedure that helps correcting shy (flat) nipples? What about the areolas? Can they be corrected too?Are these "independent" procedures or necessarily combined to mastopexy/breast augmentation?
Answer: Oh, don't let somebody start cutting in your breasts they are such delicate, beautiful parts of you!
If your nipples are "shy", don't you think they will be happy when they are liked enough?
Plastic surgery is ugly - it should only be used if you got your face ripped off in a car crash or something like that. Natural beautiful breasts and nipples should be happy and natural. It is not good for your feelings all that notion of having to "correct" this or that.
Let them be, please - you'll be happy with that in the long run.
Question: I am having nerve pain and have aleady tried neurontin.too many side effects.does anyone know of anything else The nerve pain is from recent surgery...right now whatever isn't numb feels like it is burning and tingling. I am 3 months post-op. What I have researched seems to mostly be diabetic neuropathy Nothing really related to surgical. The surgery was mastopexy and breast augmentation.
Answer: Lamictal (off label use).
Question: Men: Fake vs. saggy breasts? I'm a 22-year-old female. Throughout my childhood & adolescence, I was overweight... 180 lbs. During college, I slimmed down to 121 lbs. As I did this, my breasts lost their shape and turned flat as pancakes. As it is, they're tiny (36B), so they don't droop down to my stomach... they just aren't full, round, and if I lie down, they fall to the sides.
This is effecting my sex life - I love my body and am so proud of my weight loss accomplishment, but my breasts are unattractive. I was thinking of getting a mastopexy (breast lift), which would have to come with implants because mastopexies reduce breast size, and mine would be a tiny A if that happened.
So what is more appealing (or least repulsive): fake/round/supple breasts or natural/droopy/shapeless breasts?
I really appreciate the honest answers. Also, do fake breasts feel much different from natural?
Answer: Congratulations on your weight loss!!
This is my opinion: fake/round/supple breasts are more erotic than droopy breasts.
Personally I find a B or C cup is large enough on a woman. It seems so many women go for the extra large size and to me they just aren't appealing when they get to the huge sizes.
Fake breasts feel a bit less natural, but again, a more normal size breast makes it hard to tell the difference, but the huge sizes are really evident.
