Question: Lip Augmentation? I'm thinking about getting my upper lip bigger, it's a little too much thinner than the down one and looks oddly uneven. (with fat transferred from another site in my body technique) Is there anyone had that operation? Would it look unnatural if I just get the upper one bigger?

Answer: Well procedures like that are hard to hide when it goes wrong. Its literally your face and that is what people look at. If it is absolutely unbearable and you think it will make me happy then talk to a doctor about the injections that aren't permanent. There is one that goes away after a few months or something if you just want to try it out.

Question: How can I convince my wife against lip augmentation? She's asking my approval for lip augmentation. She looks great already, but she says she only wants to do it to look better.

Answer: Take her over to the mirror. Tell her that this is the face you see every day and you don't want it to change. Tell her that you think she is beautiful the way she is and that lip augmentation isn't necessary. If that doesn't work, tell her you'll get a facial tattoo if she gets lip augmentation!

Answer: You have to be 18 to go through the surgery without parental consent. However, I don't believe that there is an age restriction if you have your parents or legal guardians sign for you.

Answer: Search around for your area. Go to a consultation with several that you find. Ask tons of questions and ask to see their prior patients pics. Just make sure your going to the right place and they dont mess up your lips. Once you do some sort of surgery, you cant take it back

Question: Only half my lip hard and numb after dermal graft lip augmentation? It has been just over three weeks since I've had permanent lip augmentation. They took layers from my groin and threaded it through my top lip. My concern is that it is currently asymmetrical, the left part is a bit thicker and is still quite hard and slightly numb. I realise that a botched job is possible but is it normal for one side to heal faster than the other? Also how long will the hardness last?

Answer: It would not be unusual for one side to heal faster than the other. Generally the healing process can take up to 6 weeks, so if it is not better by then see the doctor again. Go before then if you are concerned.

Question: What's the age limit for lip augmentation? I'm under 18 and I've searched Google several times and I can't find an age limit for getting lip implants. Does one exist? I know you can get rhinoplasty before the age of 18, but I can't find one bit of information about the age requirement for lip augmentation!

Answer: I believe it is 13 with parental consent and a psychologist will evaluate you to make sure you are sound of mind

Question: Who do I go to for lip augmentation I just want collagen in my top lip. Do i go to plastic surgeon for it? How much is collagen in top lip in NY, NJ, or Philly? I am very self-conscious about my lip cause when I smile I don't have a top lip. Also, can someone recommend a good cosmetic dentist to put caps on teeth too. Only in Ny, NJ, or Philly ones. Answer: I'm not sure of the cost in your area, but when I had work done in Kansas it was about $300 dollars for a filler that lasts about 6-9 months and then $900 for one that last 1-2 years. I would start with the more temporary one and see how you like the results since its also less expensive!

Question: Is there anything cheap that you can use at home as effective as lip augmentation? anything?

Answer: Lip plumping lip gloss can be a good alternative. Try- Too Faced Lip Injection (it's lip gloss!) I've bought it several times now and I really like it, it tingles a bit, and that's it! Answer: lip augmuntation is a silicone implant or sometimes a piece of fascia that is inserted into the lip to produce volume. This is permanent but can be expensive. Question: I got lip augmentation through getting juvederm it lasts for about 6 months? Now I have lumps and its uneven what should I do...and at first my lips seemed really plump but after they got small again...do i need to go pay another 520 dollars?

Answer: Yes, unfortunately you will need to get these injections every 6 or so months. I've read before there are some cases - such as the one with Jennifer Garner (yes, she's had it done before and her before and after pictures are soooo obvious!) - where it can last for years, but it just really depends on the person.

Question: should i get lip augmentation before or after braces? ive been saving for braces for a good year and finally have the money to get 'em. i know that after another year of saving, i'll have enough money for lip augmentation. but idk if i should wait til after i get my braces off, which would take around 2 years. help =X

Answer: Depended upon which surgical method you opt for. I'm assuming that you're talking about a collagen injection, in which case, you lips will slowly return to roughly their previous size and appearance in about six months or so. No bad side effects are likely.

Question: Cosmetic Surgery. Is it really risky to undergo lip reduction and chin augmentation? I've read an article from a cosmetic surgery website that undergoing lip reduction could lead to a permanent numbness of the chin area (after undergoing chin augmentation) or numb sensation on the lips right after undergoing lip reduction. Is there anybody out there who went into this kind of procedure and found this out to be true. What is the percentage of having successful from unsuccessful operations- that is the risk of having permanent numbness...

Answer: ANY surgery is risky and has possible side effects. Just be happy with who you are and how you look. Maybe go to a salon and have a stylist give you a new cut would make you feel better. I just think cosmetic surgery is an unnecessary risk. Remember the movie from several years ago "The First Wives Club"? Well the woman who wrote that book died from having cosmetic surgery!!!!!! Don't risk it!!

Question: Has anyone out there ever gotten a nose job and/or lip augmentation and were actually happy with the results?

Answer: My friend has had 3 nose jobs in the past 5 years.... The first one was terrible....the 2nd one was even worse, and the 3rd one actually looks decent, but it took 2 years to heal/recover!!! I'm being honest, you won't be happy...my friend is planning on getting more work done....he will never be happy with himself. Learn to love yourself for how God made you!

Answer: It can cost a heck of a lot if it doesn't suit you (and what *you* think about it isn't what's important!)! If you want my opinion, lip augmentation is stupid; women who want it have been sold on the notion that men like big, full lips, by people with a *vested interest* in selling them on it! Men have always found women attractive, with all the normal varieties of lips, and they always will. Trying to 'second guess' what men like is absolutely nonsensical e.g. a woman may alter her appearance and become more attractive to a guy who she then discovers she doesn't like, and simultaneously turn a guy who *would have been* attracted to her (had she left her lips alone), OFF her! Speaking for myself, I've never been attracted to a woman because of her lips but I've been turned off from numerous ones because they've obviously had their lips augmented! It ALWAYS look obvious (and yes, I've seen the results of the best augentation jobs on top glamour models and celebrities) and always indicates vanity and insecurity, which are not attractive qualities. The argument that a woman may have lip augmentation done *for herself* is purely a matter of low-self esteem - which should be dealt with through therapy, not cosmetic surgery. So, my answer is that whatever the *fiscal* cost, there will likely be additional hidden costs you must take on board, as well.

Answer: You didn't say how old you are. Be very careful, there are a lot of terrible, fake looking lip augmentations out there. I personally think you should be at least 18 before you have either or ANY plastic surgery. EVERY 15-16 year old girl is unhappy with some aspect of her looks. Plastic surgery is REAL surgery and shouldn't be done on a whim. Also lip augmentation can be done under a local so it is no big deal to do it later if that is what you deside. Talk to your parents and your doctor.

Question: Lip augmentation : how long your lips swell? Hi, I' like to ask some one who has experience on lips augmentation. After you injected from the clinic , how many days that your lips look enormous swelling? until you get the right result. I have mine done yesterday , it's not yet 24 hours , it's swelling like hell and after the anesthetic finish ,it's so painful that I can't sleep even Acetaminophen can't help :( . Do you know when this "swelling period" will gone to the right result? Thank you

Answer: I've had everything done to my lips. & I can tell you your type of swelling will only last couple days. Don't worry. As for the residual pain, it will only last 1 night. You must've had anesthetic injected outside your lips, as well. That hurts horribly later that night, but will go away by morning.
