Question: Is the bump above my eyebrow the glabella? 2nd photo in pics:
http://www.myspace.com/staceylewis07
Answer: Hello,
It does seem to be your glabella. It looks to me as if there is a very smooth curve away from the root of your nose, onto your upper forehead, - - I mean it looks as if this is just the normal shape of your forehead bones in profile, and not a separate lump in the bone.
If you think you do have a lump in the bone at this point, you might post a picture of you from directly in front, - - it's difficult to be absolutely certain from just one angle. Although your idea of putting a picture in, was an excellent one.
Also, if you want the best opinion possible over the internet, you need to tell us if this is how you've always looked, or if it is something new. If new, - how long? - any history of injury? - is it painful?
I hope this is of some help.
Best wishes,
Belliger (retired uk gp)
Question: whats the average size of glabella (the space between your eyebrows and above your nose)? or how do you know where it should end
Answer: Your eyebrows should start at the inner corners of your eyes. It all depends on the persons face of course. But that's how you can tell.
Question: glabella surgery? is there any type of surgery that can narrow the glabella bone (space between the eyebrows and above the nose)
Answer: Yes, there is surgery that can correct abnormalities of the glabella bone, but it is extremely involved and only reserved for people with severe abnormalities. It's not something a person can have done simply because they don't like the way they look. If you, or someone you know, has a genetic or traumatic defect, they should see a good plastic surgeon so they can be referred to someone who specializes in cranial reconstructive surgery.
Question: Botox or a filler: what's best to fill out a deep vertical frown line between the eyebrows? I have managed to avoid horizontal lines in my forehead (put it down to 10 years of consistently using retin-A) but have inherited my grandmother's glabella, which is getting worse in my 40s, and making me look bad-tempered!
Answer: If the line is visible at rest (ie, when you're not frowning) then it will probably need a bit of filler.
the best thing to do, and I would hope any doctor would recommend this too...is to try botox first, the line should soften as you won't be able to frown as hard.
then after 4 months or so, see how much the line has softened and either go back for more botox, or fillers.
definitely make sure you find an appropriately qualified doctor, nurse or dentist to administer the treatments. no beauty therapists!
Question: Does your glabella look as though it has a bindi on it? Mine does ..... it's a bit red.
Answer: Yes, though not very red. Does anyone know why these seem to be relatively common?
Thanks for introducing me to the word "glabella" by the way.

Along my glabella (the space between the eyebrows above the nose), I have a large inflamed nodule and I also have some papule belmishes along the side of my nose and nose ridge. I've tried all sorts of facial acne washes, but all of them have proven to fail time after time. Any suggestions?
Answer: i used to have BADDD acne...i tried every product out there and spent wayyyy to much money going to dermatologist....
and one day, i was just walking around the mall and i walked into a new store called The Body Shop and i tried one of their products called Tea Tree Oil and i took some samples home and my face cleared up in two weeks...
believe it or not, i made sure all my family and friends got the product and all their faces are cleared up!
Tea Tree Toner works the best!!
and the mask and exfoliate!

Question: bone surgery? is there any type of surgery that can narrow the glabella bone (space between the eyebrows and above the nose)
what are some uncommon types of facial surgery involving bones
Answer: Surgery of the naso-frontal angle
Abstract The naso-frontal angle is one of the features that most markedly determines the morphology of the human face. Two main morphological elements must be taken into consideration: the slope of the forehead and the line of nasal dorsum. For a balanced physiognomy, nevertheless, it is necessary to achieve a correct interaction of the length and width of nasal pyramid, the naso-labial angle, and the chin. Closer examination of the naso-frontal angle shows that a cranial or caudal shift in its position affects the length of the dorsum; however, the fundamental aspect characterizing the naso-frontal angle is its width: it may be normal, too wide, or too narrow. Turning to surgical correction, the authors state that it is easier to modify an over-narrow angle, than one that is too wide. The authors show the single surgical techniques adopted for the correction of the angle, emphasizing the personal method
applied to the overwide angle.

Question: Could of I gotten a possible brain injury from this? Hi my name is Johnny, I'm 19 years old and more than a year ago, I think it might of been around either the March or April of 2009, I got hit in my forehead by a cardboard box that contained a whole lot of Saputa snacks such as May Wests and such. The box was very heavy too, it was atleast 50 pounds, you had to be pretty strong to carry these boxes around. Anyways what happened was that I was too lazy to pick up the top box first so I can grab the bottom one afterwards, instead I tried to pick up the bottom box right away and it caused the top box to slide down the bottom box and eventually hit me in my forehead, around the glabella area to be specific. As I got hit, my head was slightly knocked back by the force of the impact and I got startled as it happened. It was so unexpected because it happened so fast that I didn't even have time to dodge the box. I felt kind of dazed and disoriented afterwards. I went to go look in the mirror and I found a huge red mark on my skin where the box hit me. No bruise though. I didn't lose consciousness either. I felt pretty ok actually, just a little dazed and disoriented like I have to walk it off type of thing. About a month later I started having symptoms I'v never experienced before such as tension around the same area I got hit by the box! Feels like as if I have a tight rubber band around my forehead. Also, the back of my neck was really stiff and I would have soreness in my scalp, jaws, eyes and temples. It was also hell whenever I bent over to pick something up, I would get this head rush. Feels like I have a heavy weight on my head and my head was about to explode whenever it was in motion. I went to see a doctor and he said it was a tension headache. But I told him that it was constant, I would feel it all the time and it would never go away. He said that tension headaches can last for long periods of time. So now up to this day which is August 16 of 2010, I'm still feeling these symtoms and I'm so frustrated with myself and very confused of why I'm feeling this way! Sometimes I even think I'm going to eventually die from this because my body won't be able to take all this head strain anymore. The only time I don't feel these symptoms is when I'm sleeping. I suffer from anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder, can these symptoms be because of my mental illness or is it because of the box hitting me that caused permanent nerve damage to my forehead or something like that that's giving me this tension headache and those other symptoms. So here's the golden question that all of this comes down too, is there a possibility that I could of gotten some kind of brain damage, I would doubt the damage is severe because I didn't lose consciousness but could I of gotten mild brain damage. I'm concerned because nowadays I'm not all there, I'm feeling that tightness on my forehead and all those tensions in my jaws, eyes, temples, neck, scalp and forehead, having short term memory, I would forget things very easily, acting clumbsy like knocking into stuff, having trouble to concentrate, having trouble processing what I just did or looked at, lack of interest and I feel as though I have try a lot harder to remember things and process things. My mind feels empty and fuzzy. I didn't feel this way before getting hit by the box. Is this all related to brain damage due to getting hit by the box or is it my anxiety playing tricks on me?
Answer: I would have to say your anxieties are getting to u, here's some examples of head injuries I have had and I'm fine after getting looked at by doctors off course. I've been through a car window at 70 mphhead on collision,I cliff dive and hit reef,I snow board and hit ice while upside-down off of 60+ foot cliffs,I used to skate half pipe ,multiple injuries from that,I've had kayaks hit me on my face riding big waves in Hawaii ,I think your anxieties are getting to u. anxiety can cause many symptoms such as the ones u have described .u should talk to a psychiatrist and your physician if your worried about it. anxiety can be a problem and should be treated before u get serious attacks.you need to see a doctor 4 an official opinion!
