Question: Who can I find to do a tattoo removal by excision? The laser is not an option. My tattoo is small and almost all green and blue, it would take many many treatments for my tattoo to react if it did at all. I do not have the time or money for this. No place I have called does any other forms of tattoo removal besides laser. Would a regular surgon do an excision? How could I find someone that does? I am not concerned by the scarring and I honestly think it would be the best method for me.
Answer: i am doing the same thing. i have emailed a few of the cosmetic surgeons in my area and have settled on one and booked a consultation. i needed a referral from my gp to see the specialist doctor and please be aware these ARE specialists and sometimes book months in advance. my consultation is not until september and you also need to be prepared for the price of the initial consultation which is usually quite high. a tattoo removal will be costly (although excision and dermabrasion are not as costly as laser) and the cost is not usually covered by health cover. hope this helps, and good luck.

Question: What is the price of an excision tattoo removal? What would be an approximate price for a licensed surgeon to perform excision tattoo removal on a tattoo which is approximately one by one inch.
Answer: That is a good question. One that I hope to have an answer to in two weeks. My son has a tat that is 3cm by 1/2cm on his wrist that he wishes to be removed. We went to check on laser today but that would be upwards of $1200 to $1800. We are going to a surgeon in two weeks to see about cutting it out. The best guess from the net search is 150 to 500 but who knows.
Question: what are the effect of excision of transposable element? there are two types of excision of transposable element. One is precise and another one is imprecise.
what are the effects of each on host gene function?
Answer: Probably:
precise is the exact removal of just the element restoring the correct DNA sequence of the original gene (i.e. before the element was introduced). This gene should function normally.
imprecise excision will take a chunk of the host's DNA along with the element when it excises. This introduces a mutation which could leave the gene impaired or nonfunctional.

Question: I have 2 deep chicken pox scars on cheek & I'm dark. How do I get an excision but not have hyperpigmentation? When I was 6, I had chicken pox scars. I scratched them, not knowing any better and they left two deep pit scars that have affected my self-esteem for quite some time. At the age of 26, I would like them to removed.
Actually, when I scar on my face, scars hyperpigment and leave dark brown spots, which unevens the coloring of my skin.
Does any one know of a good plastic surgeon in LA or Bay Area, or any advice of how successful excision works to remove chicken pox scars?

thank you!
Answer: You don't mention the problem she's having that a hysterectomy is an issue....but, if it's one of her options...and she's at a greater risk for cancer and she's done having kids....I'd have the hysterectomy.
Question: Can anyone give me an estimate on how much a tattoo excision would cost? The nurse at the dermatologist's office said $300-$500, but wasn't sure about it at all and I want to see what I can find out about how accurate that is. The tattoo is about an inch long and about half an inch wide. Its in a very visible area and I've been told by multiple doctors that laser treatments will leave significant color. I would much rather have a scar than this tattoo or leftover color. Please spare me any unhelpful remarks.
Answer: LOL.
Question: Can a 4x6 tattoo on my lower back be realistically be removed by excision? I talked to a plastic surgeon today in another state who said he could do this. He is board certified and I checked his medical license. My tattoo is not laserable because the metallic ink used throughout oxidizes.
Answer: It sounds rather large for excision. Then again, if he puts a balloon under the skin to expand it, he may get the skin stretched enough to close the sides. Make sure he does that, because if he just cuts it out in small sections, it'll scar badly.
Go for a second opinion, just to be safe.
Question: I had a loop diathermy excision , it's been bleelding for more than a week now? I had a look diathermy excision, and initially I had some watery discharge ,and some debris from excision. One week later I started to bleed fresh blood. I know my period was due but I kept taking pills without break. Everytime I pass urine the blood would drip. I don't know weather it is period or blood from procedure.
Answer: A loop diathermy excision? Interesting, Are you outside of the united states. For some reason diathermy use is not big here. What was the excision of exactly?
...to answer your question. If blood is dripping when passing urine but is not there in between those times, then this does not sound like your period. Call the doctor on this one.
good luck!
Question: Does anyone have any advice for using te excision tattoo removal method? I got a tattoo on my shoulder blade about 6 cm long, and 2 cm high, and my parents are making me get it removed. Any tips or advice I could use?
Answer: Excision is a bit drastic. Why not laser? Is it the subject matter or just the fact that you have a tattoo? Are you 18?
Maybe if you delay this they will be able to think it over more and spare the expense, pain, and scarring of removal.
Question: Has anyone underwent an excision of a Bartholin gland cyst? I had this surgery performed last month and it seems to be healing slowly. It still hurts and the stiches are slowly being absorbed. How long did it take for you to heal and how long after the surgery were you able to have sex again? Do you know if there any side affects to having this procedure?
Answer: I haven't had the surgery but have talked to others who have had this done and it can take several weeks to heal according to what they have said.
Because of how long it has been though I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
In the mean time here's the link to a site that may help you find even more information til you can get a hold of your doctor. The link is at: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health

Question: Has anyone had experience with surgical excision of a tattoo? I do NOT want to know anything about laser removal. I have tried that. I am allergic to the ink in my tattoo and the laser removal causes me ALOT of problems. I have a quarter size tattoo on my ankle that I am want excised. I want to know if anyone has done this, how big was your tattoo and what kind of scar do you have?
Answer: A close friend of mine had it done in the early 90's, before laser treatments were widely available. He regets the scar less than the tattoo, so I suppose it worked out quite well for him. His tattoo was about the two inches wide by two inches in height on his right shoulder. The scar is pretty deep to this day.
The doctor who removed the tattoo was his family physician. I don't know if there are any doctors still willing to do something like that so you might have to find a specialist or a plastic surgeon.
If it's the only viable method to remove the ink from your system, then you just have to do what you have to do. Good luck!

3) Mismatch Repair
Incorrectly paird bases distort the helix. The mismatched base is excised and replaced with a match to correct the base pair
Question: What is excision of an axillary mass like? My fifth grade son has had swollen lymph nodes under his right arm for six months. We just got a new doctor and as soon as the dr. saw it (it is big) he asked us a lot of questions about my son's recent medical history, examined my son thoroughly and then said it needed to be excised, and referred us to a surgeon. What can we expect during the procedure? Will they have results for us that same day? Will they run it down to the lab while my son is still unconscious? Or will we have to wait for days for results?
Answer: If surgeon decides,he will do surgical biopsy.
Either it will be of a node in toto if removable or a part of mass for histopathology.
To have immediate frozen section Bx or send it for delayed report will be decided by operating surgeon.
Procedure is safe and is being advised to confirm disease.
Question: Estimated cost for tattoo excision 3 inches wide by 1 and a half centremetres high? In Adelaide preferably.
I just want a rough price before i consider paying a lot of money for an actual consultation then find out it is more than i can afford.
Answer: What kind of tattoo is it and where is it at? Is it something you regret, a name of someone, and do you really want it removed? A lot of people just opt for something to go over it. I know some people who have had tattoos redone and other tattoo's covered up rather then paying to have it removed. Either way the choice is up to you
Tattoo removal is big cosmetic business and as such is not covered by any medical insurance plans. Tattoo removal is much more expensive than tattoo placement. Laser tattoo removal can range from several hundred dollars up into the thousands of dollars, depending upon the size, type and location of the tattoo and the number of visits required and most simple tattoos are removed in 2 - 4 treatments scheduled about 4-8 weeks apart. Removing complex and deep tattoos requires a series of treatments spaced approximately 8 weeks apart or longer. Professional tattoos usually require 6-10 treatments for complete clearing. A large, professional tattoo in color can cost thousands of dollars to remove, and the success of the procedure still can not be guaranteed.
Good luck!
