Copper Peptide
A common ingredient found in skin care products, copper peptide is used to promote and produce collagen and elastin in the skin.
Question: Has anyone ever used Copper Peptide and/or Retin A skin products? Just wondering what your experiences might be using these products, thanks.
I.e. has anyone had any bad reactions to using them? I have sensitive skin, so wondering if they might not be particularly good for me!
Answer: I am a big fan of Retin A products (in fact i did a retinol peel just yesterday lol) and i too have sensitive skin. U do need to be very careful tho that u follow your doctors exact instructions and don't over do it. Also u need to avoid waxing and use a sunscreen religiously. If u are trying to heal a wound or smooth out stretch marks/wrinkles copper peptides work as well your physician may have u using both since the C.P helps heal and the Retin A is more of a chemical exfoliant. I have used both to clear up my acne and smooth out stretch marks. visit this site for more info on Retin A

and this for more on copper peptides

there is just too much info to type and Good Luck!
Question: what is the difference between copper peptide and retin a?
Answer: Retin A is an acid derived from Vitamin A. Copper Peptides supposedly stimulate regeneration. I think Retin A does the same, but just in a different way. There is not as much research on Copper Peptides as their is on Retin A, however. From what I know about copper peptides, only the blue/green kind works. Stay away from the clear/white kind.
Question: I'm looking for lotions or creams that contain copper peptide's.? I have some age spots and i know there are products that can be found online but i'm on a budget and they are pretty pricey. Are there any Drugstores like maybe a Walgreens that would carry these products?
Answer: Institut Arnaud Paris Youthful Radiance Cream Day Formula
Neutrogena Illuminating Whip Moisturizer, SPF 20
these dont have copper peptide but they work really well for age spots and you can find them at walgreens
Question: can i buy copper peptides in South Africa? I would like to know if i can buy copper peptide healing cream here in Sa, its available at skin biology but its in America, ive sent alot of e-mails but they dont reply. Please is there anyone that can give me info on this
Answer: I'm not familiar with South Africa, but if you can find a place that sells Nivea or Neutrogena, ( a drugstore) those may contain copper peptides.
I used to use one of those two and I know for a fact that one of them has copper peptides because it said right on the front that it did and it had the color of copper on it.
Try going to their website and asking them if you could buy it online and have it shipped to you.
Or you could go to www.walgreens.com or www.cvs.com and if they have it you might be able to get it shipped from their website.
Question: dermarolling while taking Roaccuatne? Is dermarolling contraindicated while taking Roaccutane?I'm in my 2nd month now and planning to do CIY microneedling + copper peptide serum in few days but I'm not so sure if there are literatures that contraindicate this from Roaccutane intake. Anyone PLS....
Answer: i like to burn stuff
Question: is CASTOR OIL risky?? help...? ive heard various instances where castor oil helps grow and thicken eyelashes (& eyebrows)....well on one site i read various reviews saying it does the opposite effect....SO WHICH IS RIGHT? does it thicken them or not? i need to naturally hide my uglyness without wearing gunk everyday (aka makeup)..
if castor oil doesn't work, do any of these things:
emu oil, vitamin e oil, folligen cream, copper peptide (where do you buy that local?)...etc?
Answer: well...i don't have eyebrow problems but i do naturally nourish and thicken my eyebrows with vitamin e oil straight from the capsule. it does work if you keep up with this treatment daily. as for lashes, why don't you try applying a light touch of Vaseline petroleum jelly on them? you can even use Vaseline on your lashes like mascara and in no time, you'll see them naturally darker and longer because Vaseline is a form of lubricant. yes, castor oil is risky and can cause blindness if applied on the eyebrows and lashes. for your brows and lashes, just either stick to natural remedies like Vaseline, vitamin e oil or olive oil. take your pick.
Question: How to thicken skin on my forearms? I have been using topical steroid creams off and on for awhile as prescribed by my doctor for para psoriasis. I have now stopped for the past several weeks, but as a result, the skin, especially on my forearms, has thinned considerably. I bruise so easily with unsightly purplish reddish bruises that take a week of more to go away. I want to find something, anything, that will make my skin thicker to avoid bruising. I have heard copper peptide creams are good?
Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you,
Answer: Hey Tom,
Unfortunately the answer is no. The steroid creams work, but their side-effects include thing of the skin, as well as making that particular area more susceptible to psoriasis again.
Question: i used a peeling cream and it has thinned my skin really badly and its not regrowing...what do i do? I used a peeling cream 4 years ago to treat acne. it peeled about 70% of my skin and thinned it quite badly and no new skin has regrown.
my skin is now so thin that veins are visible below my eyes and this makes me feel very ugly and unconfident about myself.
Ive tryed many things to help thicken my skin like emu oil, collagen cream, vitamin C cream, copper peptide cream, EGF cream and a cream rich in amino acids, olive oil, but none of them have been sucesful.
it makes me wonder if I could be lacking growth hormone or some other body chemical.
why is my skin not growing back?
help me please its made me feel totaly ugly and socially insecure.
Answer: to be honest if i were you i would go to my nearest dermatologist (skin doctor) and discuss it with him/her
Question: What does this mean..??????? When peptide bonds are present in this alkaline solution, the copper (II) ions will form a coordination complex with four nitrogen atoms involved in peptide bonds
What the hell is coordination complex in a simple sentence??
does it mean they'll join? =/
Answer: Coordination complex-As applied to coordination chemistry, this meaning has evolved.
In chemistry, a complex, also called a coordination compound or metal complex, is a structure consisting of a central atom or molecule connected to surrounding atoms or molecules. Originally, a complex implied a reversible association of molecules, atoms, or ions through weak chemical bonds. As applied to coordination chemistry, this meaning has evolved. Some metal complexes are formed virtually irreversibly and many are bound together by bonds that are quite strong.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinatio…
a compound or ion with a central usually metallic atom or ion combined by coordinate bonds with a definite number of surrounding ions, groups, or molecules —called also coordination compound.

Question: Effect of metal ions on enzymes? I'm doing my biology coursework and i need to write a hypothesis on the effect of copper on trypsin. The problem is, I can't find anything relating the two. I know that trypsin is a serine protease that breaks down peptide bonds in the small intestine for digestion, but I can't find anything on how copper in particular affects enzymes. help?
Both the links would have been somewhat helpful if they didn't contradict each other. The springer link claims Cu catalyses the activity of trypsin and Zn inhibits it, while the pdf link says both Cu and Zn inhibit the activity of trypsin, Cu more than Zn.
Answer: It seems that divalent cations (positively charged ions with 2+ charge) enhance the activity of trypsin, as stated in this article:
http://www.springerlink.com/content/162u…
Although I do not have access to the article, I would surmise that such trace elements assist in "recharging" the active site and releasing cleaved protein substrates from the serine residue.
Edit in response to comment: Both papers are probably correct in their results. But you're comparing two completely different sets of experiments done at different times and under different conditions. One experiment is on rat trypsin purified from small intestines after deliberate intoxication. The other experiment does not directly identify the source of trypsin (cow? human?); but regardless, the trypsin is purified and then treated with the metals in vitro. This may be confusing, but there may be no definitive answer because there hasn't been a rigorous study completed to answer the particular question you had in mind. The best you can do is extrapolate, based on the methods and the results and your biochemical knowledge. Or, better yet, design an experiment yourself that controls for and looks for the answers you need.

Thank you very much. Appreciate it. :)
Answer: Once again refer to my answer to your other question. No help here for these multiple questions taht you can answer from your text book. One question, one answer and you will have a good response. Try and cover your whole chemistry studies in one or two questions and you will , quite deservedly, get no help at all.

Question: Which Part of an Amino acid will be attracted to the Cu2+ ions in copper sulphate? does it attach to the peptide bond
or
the ionic z groups
or anything else?
What determines weather Cu++ bonds to the COO- or NH+ groups?
Answer: Which peptide bond ?
Cu++ will naturally be attracted to the COO- Amino acids exist as Zwitter ions. e.g. glycine
H2N-CH2-COOH exists as +H3N-CH2-COO-.
However Cu++ also forms complexes with NHx, e.g. Cu(NH3)4SO4 so it could also form a complex with the amino group.
