Question: What is that capsule which is used to regain consciousness through smell? I've seen it used, some sort of a drug within a capsule that paramedics use sometimes to help one regain a state of consciousness. They snap the tab or capsule hold it under their nose and the fumes awaken the person. What is it exactly and what is it called? Thanks for any and all help in advance! Answer: Are you referring to Smelling salts? If so Smelling salts are a combination of ammonium carbonate and perfume. They were traditionally used to revive people from faints but nowdays some athletes use them before competition as a pick-me-up, or coaches may use smelling salts to revive an athlete who has been injured. The base of smelling salts is ammonium carbonate, and different salt compounds. When ammonium carbonate is mixed with water, in the case of “aromatic spirits of ammonia,” or perfume (which is why the paramedics snap the little tab before putting it under a patients nose to mix the two) the reaction creates fumes which rise from the salts. When placed under someone's nose, the fumes irritate the mucus membranes of the nose, throat, and lungs, stimulating the body to breathe more quickly. Hope this helps! :)

Question: How do I take a capsule and when is it the best time to take it? I just received new vitamins and they are capsules. When I take them I pull the capsules apart and I take the medicine inside the capsule but throw away the capsule. Am I taking these right or do I take the capsules too? The capsules are gelatin. When is it a good time for me to take them, in the morning or at night?

Answer: it is made capsule so that it does not dissolve in mouth as effect will be destroyed take half an hour before or half an hour after food gelatin is not harmful. as per doctors instruction vitamin morning one night one

Question: How long does it take for a capsule or a tablet to affect the body after consumed? Does it matter what food you intake it with? I think it does because the food absorbs the tablet or capsule and depending on how long it takes to digest the food and the capsule or tablet with it. Comparing intaking the tablet or capsule with an apple will get into the body at different times than lets say meat.

Answer: It depends on the makeup of the capsule and how strong your stomach acid is. Probably about 10 min. to dissolve and begin to be absorbed.

Question: How do you find out what size a vitamin capsule is prior to purchasing a jar? My child can only swallow small capsules. There are vitamins I want to order, but fear that I will open the bottle to find huge capsules. How do I find out what size the capsule is before I purchase? My child has autism and requires many supplements due to being a picky eater and having difficulty digesting dairy and wheat. We have taught him how to swallow pills because he won't tolerate the grainy texture of most chewables.

Answer: It is better to buy them at a place that you can open the jar or bottle and see for yourself. Like at a health food store. Usually, if the owner is kind enough, they will oblige you if you ask them if they wouldn't mind if you took a look first. Sometimes, they even have some open already for you to sample. Question: How do I connect/setup my Apple Time capsule to connect to my router via Ethernet only? I have WiFi IOT issues between my BT Home Hub and an Apple Time Capsule (I think). I would therefore simply like connect/setup the Time Capsule to connect to my router via Ethernet only. I don't understand which port on the TC I need to use, nor how to set things up through the Airport Utility. Can anyone assist? Thank you in advance.

Answer: are you going to use the TC as a only a backup option? if so, then it won't matter which port you use. if you are going to use the TC to create a Wireless network, then you need to use the single port that is labeled differently then the others (i can't remember exactly what the symbol looks like, but it is different) then you can setup the TC in bridge mode (which i hate, cuz it always craps out one way or another) or in a DUAL NAT (which works perfectly, but you then have to tell the time capsule to ignore that conflict, but it isn't a problem, it is just not what the average user would use to setup that way)

I am working on an essay about what I would put in a time capsule to be opened in 50 years to help someone living during that time period understand the culture in which we live. I can put 3-4 things in the time capsule. The time capsule is 2' x 3' x 3'. What would you put in the time capsule?

Answer: cell phone, ipod, laptop, Wii. Pretty much anything technologically advanced.

Answer: capsules contain powder inside.. its just the same.. capsules just help you take the medicine inside your body without letting you taste it because you might puke.. normally powdered medicines are bitter.. and so pharmacies used capsules to help you drink it.. and in addition to that, capsules can give more accurate dosage because powder usually flies with the wind.. and powders stick up in your throat sometimes.. =]

Answer: have a parent take you to a hardware store. look for a length of PVC pipe large and long enough for you to put whatever you want into it. and get two caps and PVC glue. a perfect time capsule.

Answer: you sound like me! so i will tell you what my capsule wardrobe is going to be... - a grey or black long sleeved medium weight blazer. you can roll the sleeves up to wear over a dress in summer, or wear with a cardigan or hoody underneath in winter with jeans. - a massive white tshirt from american apparel. i will get one big enough to be a dress which i can belt, or tuck in to skirts, shorts, trousers. this can be worn in summer, or in winter - a high waisted floral print skirt. can be worn in summer, or in winter with tights if you get something with reasonably dark colours in (to match black tights) - a pair of 'chloe' esqe shorts, nice and loose fitting. would look good in summer with a thin patent leather belt and tshirt or with tights in winter with the blazer or a thick geek style cardigan. they have great ones in uniqlo or in m&s!! - a blue striped t shirt. its the answer to all my 'i don't know what to wear today' days. look in gap, or cos. - a white cotton dress for summer. i accessorise mine with different bikinis, jewelery, sandals, cardigans, tops underneath, etc. theres a nice one in asos, and also a long sleeved one in m&s - a thin brightly coloured belt, and a thick black belt (urban outfitters have great thin belts) - some gladiator sandals. ive still got mine from last summer! - a well fitting jewel toned dress. you have to love the colour so you don't get sick of it! try and get one that looks good with heels to wear at night, or with pumps for a sophisticated day look. - a red plaid checked shirt, very lauren conrad, and you can pick them up so cheap at car boot sales! trust me. also at vintage shops and charity shops. hope this helps!! i love clothessss!!!

Answer: What a graet idea!! I would put alot of little things that don't seem to mean much right now. I know that sounds silly but . . . Maybe some snapshots of the two of you, movie stubs, notes you've written to each other, burn a cd of your favorite music, possibly a trinket or peice of jewlelry he gave you, favors from your wedding, a keepsake from the honeymoon . . . I suppose what goes in depends on how long you're going to wait to open it. If this is something you plan on opening 20 years from now you should put things in it that capture your life in today's society. If you add magazine clippings of your favorite TV shows, current celeb gossip, favorite articles of clothing . . .years later you will enjoy browsing through all the things you will have completely forgotten about. I'd like to get an external hard drive to back up my photos, music, etc. I have a MacBook Pro and I'm wondering whether I should get a Time Capsule or some other external hard drive. Are there any big differences? What brands make good external hard drives for Macs?

Answer: A Time Machine is an external hard drive, but it is also an Xtreme Base Station, too, so that means that it boosts you Wi-Fi signal, can be a network backup hard drive. You can plug a printer into it, and all the computers connected to the Time Capsule can print wirelessly.

Question: Can you break a temazepam capsule to dilute in water? My grandpa is having a really hard time swallowing anything so they are having to crush his pills to give them to him with a spoon. I know there are some capsules that you cannot break. Can you break a temazepam capsule?

Answer: You can open the capsule, but it probably won't dilute in water. Since your grandfather has trouble taking pills, I suggest you open the capsules and mix the powder with applesauce, pudding or softened ice cream. For regular pills, you can get a pill-crusher device at pharmacies (or even at Wal-Mart). However, you cannot crush some pills that are enteric-coated, because they are intended to dissolve in the small bowel rather than the stomach. Check with grandpa's pharmacist to find out which pills are safe to crush (and which capsules are safe to open). You can give the enteric-coated pills separately with pudding or applesauce. Giving pills one at a time can also help. Good luck.

Question: Are you supposed to swallow the plastic part of a capsule? I got some vitamins and they come in capsule form. I can see there is powder inside the plastic capsule, but I don't know if I'm supposed to open the capsule and swallow the powder or just swallow the capsule, plastic and all. Answer: Yup. The "plastic" is a sort of gelatin that dissolves in your stomach. A capsule can be taken apart and the powder stirred into something more palatable if you hate swallowing pills, though.

Question: Is the powder in a lyrica capsule harmful? I have a two hundred mg capsule, but that's to high to start again on, I was wondering if I could just swallow the powder alone, or must I have the capsule? I'm planning on measuring out 50-75 mg.

Answer: DO NOY DO THIS! You can not accurately do this at home. The capsule is what allows the powder to slowly release. Lyrica has way too many side affects to even attempt to do this

Answer: I take it that you are going to open this capsule hotel in some country other than Japan? If so, give it careful thought. I think if you do that, you may come to the same conclusion that I have, that being that it sounds like a perfect recipe for bankruptcy. I'm sure that there are sources of the capsules themselves in Japan. These things are obviously not hand-crafted. But you are very unlikely to find the websites in English. So you are going to have your first expense of hiring a translator to help you out on finding out details along with the cost. Then you better figure in the shipping costs for all those capsules. You're going to need quite a bit of capital to get this project going. I won't say that this is a pipe-dream, and simply "bad idea" seems to fit better.

Answer: Neither is healthier, it's rare to find capsule pills in my experience, and typically it was a very good kind, but really it could be anything just as pressed pills. Answer: Most capsule staining methods do not use alcohol You don't heat fix because this could shrink the capsule and give a false negative result The capsule helps the bacteria to attach to a substrate (eg on teeth, forming plaque) and it helps to resist attacks by the immune system.
