Arnica
An herbal remedy used to reduce bleeding and bruising
Question: How much arnica should I give my 4 month old kitten if he is limping? My 4month old kitten Neiman is unable to walk on his back left leg. How much arnica is the proper treatment for him? What else can I do for him? Is it possible to give him too much Arnica?
Answer: Homeopathic Arnica is just fine. I would use a 30C. You can dissolve a pellet in a very small amount of filtered water and give with a dropper.
The thing with using homeopathic remedies is OBSERVATION. If the limping or swelling goes away with a single dose you don't repeat it. If symptoms come back then you can redose. As long as there is improvement you DON'T redose.
You can start him off with two doses spread out over a 24 hour period if the pain and swelling are acute.
Question: Does arnica have any effect on dark circles under eyes? I know that arnica helps reduce inflamation and lighten bruises. Will it help with dark circles?
Answer: I would be very cautious about putting arnica near to my eyes I would be more concerned as to why I had dark circles under my eyes and treat that also arnica really only works if you use it straight away on bruises
Question: How many patients became completely cured by taking Homeo Medicine Arnica after a full cut Episiotomy? Some websites Deny Arnica's effectiveness of post surgical treatment.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/97580...
http://dermatology.jwatch.org/cgi/conten...
Even the Homeopathy websites which promote this product, warning that, "Homeopathic remedies are very dilute, and while the homeopathic remedy may be beneficial, the raw product may be harmful."
http://abchomeopathy.com/r.php/Arn
Now I want to know, Is this Homeopathic medicine really effective for the treatment of Episiotomy? Have any side affect of it? Have any risk to increase the problem or create new problem instead of healing the problem?
I also want to know that, is Arnica only just a pain killer or antibiotic, or it is for completely healing and cure? Is it only for use to reduce pain after a surgical operation, or can use any time in order to help the entire healing process? Our patient already passed 8 weeks after a full cut Episiotomy and now have only slight pain sometimes when any movement or physical activity. So pain reduction is not major issue now. We only need to ensure complete and permanent healing. So I cannot assure if the Arnica would be applicable or not at this moment.
As we see contradictory information about this medicine in the web, so I need to know real experience or authentic data. How many Episiotomy patients get complete recovery by taking Arnica or such type of Homeo medicine?
Answer: The website that refers to your wife's situation - or, perhaps for your purpose of research, is http://www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.o… You're looking for education, so it's important to rely on a dependable resource.
Just as YA is full of Top Contributor medical skeptics who earned their badge not based on professional experience, but uneducated personal opinion negating homeopathy and other viable "energy" medicines - the web is full of individual opinions and experience.
Basically, whether on YA or on the web, you can find the answer you want.
For a person with these problems, being under the care of a certified, professional homeopath is necessary. This situation doesn't qualify in the category of self-help acute care. The remedy is not homeopathy, it's the knowledge and philosophy for understanding why a particular remedy should be given and not another. That's the first step. The hardest part, requiring skill as a classical homeopath, is "case management" - the second and, if necessary, subsequent remedies.
You ask for real experience and authentic data. If you are unable to accept more than 25 years of my experience as a homeopath, I don't know what more to offer. The woman needs to be under the care of a homeopath, based on qualifications set forth by the Council for Homeopathic Certification, the only profession-wide credentialing organization in N. America.
No, Arnica is not enough.

Question: Is arnica gel safe to use for pregnant women for bruises? I saw that it is best not use for sorness on the belly, but what about bruises in other places?
Answer: When used externally, arnica is brilliant at making bruises disappear as long as the skin is unbroken. Dermatitis is possible if used when the surface of the skin has a cut or an abrasion. Arnica makes blood vessels dilate, reducing the appearance of bruising. It is best used as soon as possible after the injury.
Question: What is Arnica Montana called in Chinese herbal medicine? I'm not talking about a dictionary translation of the word(s). If the Chinese use it in their herbal medicine, what do they call it? What's the name of the Chinese equivalent herb?
Answer: It would be called Arnica because it wasn't a staple of Chinese medicine so it doesn't have a "Chinese name", but the common (Latin, I think) name of Arnica is used. "Chinese Medicine" (as well as many other culture's herbalism traditions) is most commonly referred to only by the ancient practices and aren't updated with new herbs found in different areas... but when new herbs are incorporated for any reason, they will use the existing name instead of translating it so there's less confusion.
In botanical terms, once a plant name is known, they seldom make a new name for it... but the plants that are known in different areas commonly had different names, which is why you'll sometimes see an herb with several "a.k.a.s" added to an article about them. It just helps to minimize confusion to not rename something. I hope that helps!
Question: Is Arnica Gel ok to use while pregnant for sore bellies? My lower belly and belly button are very sore, I called my midwife to make sure nothing else was wrong, but I found on line that using Arnica Gel or lotion can help relieve sore muscles. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this homeopathic gel or has used it before while pregnant.
Answer: I had to ask my sister-in-law this question since I was curious too, and she's a mid-wife in training. She said that it's best not to use arnica gel while pregnant just because of the herbs and oils that may be in the gel itself. She said that arnica is still one of the products that has little information on how arnica might affect a developing baby. She said that Tylenol would probably be one of the best things to take to relieve some of the pain.
Hope this helps

Question: How long does arnica gel take to make bruises go away? I recently fell and i have a wedding that i have to attend.Im the maid of honor and i have these horrible bruises , ive applied ice to them (like 3 or 4 bruises) yesterday once and today in the morning but the wedding is tomorow so i need it fast (strapless dress) how long does it take to work?
ill aprpreciate any suggestions
Answer: My grandma rubs that stuff on me everytime I fall or bruise myself, and I'M 28!!! Hahaha. She swears by it.
What she does is put a liberal amount on my "injury," then rubs it in really well. Massages it in. Then she puts a little more on to make it a little moist, then I leave it on while I sleep. I must say, it works incredibly well.
Depending on how bad your bruises are, they will be completely gone or very reduced in the morning.
Question: is it safe to apply arnica cream every 2 hours? ive got a bruise on my leg which i need to remove before wednesday,
i applied it last night and notices an improvement.
ive applied it twice today already.. and its improving
is this safe to do?
Answer: The arnica cream that I use says to apply 3 times a day or as needed, which could be taken either way. I would think that after a certain point the effectiveness doesn't get any higher though. In my opinion I can't imagine there would be any harm with something like arnica, but you might want to space it out more. I bet by Wednesday it will be gone...
