Question: ACNE......................? i have had serious acne for 2 years now...im on a prescribtion drug from the doctor, steivamicien for a year now..any other tips on how to prevent teen acne?
Answer: MEDICATION OR DIET? Over the counter acne medicine contains one of these active ingredients: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid). If acne still not improving after trying these, then see a doctor to get a stronger medicine or try changing diet & lifestyle. Research has shown that there is a connection between certain kinds of food & acne. Read book The Clear Skin Diet by Alan C. Logan & Valori Treloar!
WASH, TONE, MOISTURIZE FACE: Try natural gentle (not acne)products: Wash face with warm water & Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar by Johnson&Johnson, twice day, morning & night (possibly third time, midday). Apply toner Witch Hazel which is non drying, reduces bacteria/swelling, minimizes size of skin pores, helps acne inflammation. Or make toner by mixing 1 part organic apple cider vinegar with the mother (Bragg Organic Apple Cider) with 5 parts pure water. (Caution! Test small area! If burns/to drying, use more water! Use at least 1 part water! Less Water = Stronger /More Drying Formula.) This vinegar kills bacteria, absorbs excess oil, helps dry out pimples, lightens scars, leaves skin tone more refined. Moisturize face with Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Gelly. This aloe vera is 99% organic plus it contains vitamin A, C, E! Aloe vera helps stimulate cell renewal, heals skin blemishes/scars.
MAKEUP: Using a makeup finish will give you oil-free matte skin all day! Use Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish or Model In A Bottle Makeup Setting Spray. Apply makeup with clean hands! Only use oil free makeup that won't clog pores! Old makeup & makeup tools harbor bacteria so use fresh makeup & wash/replace tools often! Wash makeup off face before going to bed!
FACE MASSAGE (done often)will help remove toxins, regenerate skin cells, tone/firm skin, improve skin texture, encourage good blood supply, delivers nutrients, nourishes skin. Wash hands & face! Apply toner. Use aloe vera as massage gel. Do 10 min massage before going to bed. Don't wash face again, let aloe vera dry on face. Buy book on face massage techniques like the, Ten Minute Facelift by Jennie Harding.
FACE MASK: Do face mask once a week. Wash face with warm water, apply mask. Leave on for 20 min or until it dries. Buy face mask for oily acne skin or make mask by mixing plain oatmeal with water. Oatmeal is soothing, absorbs excess oil, exfoliates skin for a smoother complexion.
EAT HEALTHY FOOD: Eat variety & alot of fruits vegetables! OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS (sardines, salmon, fish oil supplement), LYCOPENE (tomato, tomato products), GREEN TEA (freshly brewed), ZINC (oyster, crab, beans, wholegrain cereal) all has the ability to reduce chemicals/hormones involved in acne & help acne inflammation. VITAMIN A (carrot, winter squash, spinach), VITAMIN C (orange, lemon, lime, kiwi), ANTHOCYANINS (purple grapes, blueberry, acai, dark cherries, pomegranate) provides antioxidant protection, improves skin quality, helps acne. Milk has strongly been linked to acne! Drink Rice Dream Rice Drink instead of milk! Read book The Clear Skin Diet for more information!!
WATER: Drinking pure water (approx. 64oz a day)gives you a radiant complexion, carries nutrients to every cell in your body, flushes out toxins, improves circulation & blood flow, helps constipation. You can also include 100% fruit juice as part of your daily total.
VITAMIN MINERAL SUPPLEMENT: It is hard to get all vitamins minerals skin needs on a daily basis, so take supplement each day. Overdosing on vitamins minerals (whether from food or supplements) is toxic & dangerous!
AEROBIC EXERCISE (done often)reduces acne breakouts, helps clear the skin by increasing circulation & delivery of nutrients to skin cells, flushes out toxins, reduces the production of hormones related to acne, helps constipation. Drink water! Immediately take a shower to remove sweat & dirt!
DRY SKIN BRUSHING (done often)removes dead skin cells, stimulates blood circulation, maintains glowing supple skin, cleanses lymphatic system, helps carry away toxins, removes cellulite. Caution! Brushing must be done correctly & carefully, so read book, Dr. Berkowsky's Vital Chi Skin Brushing System by Bruce Berkowsky! Take shower after brushing to wash off dead skin & impurities! Don't brush face,Do face massage!
HANDS, HAIR, STUFF: Keep dirt & bacteria at bay to prevent more breakouts! Don't touch face with hands, keep hair clean, don't let dirty oily hair touch face, clean phone often or don't let phone touch face, don't lean face on objects, clean glasses often, wash pillowcase/sheets/ blanket/washcloth/towel often.
BOW MOVEMENT: Skin eruptions can be caused or aggravated by constipation-excess waste in colon! Make sure bow movements are regular by eating enough fiber, fruits, vegetables, drink water, exercise.
SLEEPING: Getting enough sleep helps repair body at cellular level, helps skin repair itself. Adults need between 7 to 9 hrs of sleep.

Question: I have acne on my face and back, how can i get rid of it easily without using much money? I've been trying to find cheap things to clear the acne on my face at least, but nothing really seems to work, can anyone help me clear the acne on my face, without using much money, and it would help if something could clear the acne on my back too. Thanks!
Answer: First, I understand where you're coming from. I grew up with really bad acne, not only on my face but on my body as well. It was embarrassing and I tried everything including cleansers, creams, prescription medications, antibiotics, over the counter medications, and even shots from the dermatologist (ouch!) to get rid of it. I never did until many years later when it didn't matter as much.

Here's what I found out after lots of research and trial and error, the hard way.
It's not a topical issue, it doesn't help much to treat it from the outside, it's an inside job. When you treat it from the outside it's like treating the symptoms, not the cause. You'll hear from many people that's not the case, and it's usually because they want you to buy their creams or lotions, and keep buying them month after month after month (or they haven't experienced the truth). Of course, when you stop using it (as you've experienced) your blemishes come back... because you're not treating the cause. And the costs for all of these routines/drugs add up month after month.
If you think about it logically, it makes sense. Why do we get rashes, breakouts, or other skin irritations? It's usually because of something we ate, something that wasn't meant to be put on our skin, something that caused us stress and our body reacts to all those things.
Bottom line is that most every cause of acne is related to what you eat, how you feel and how you take care of yourself. Your skin is a reflection of what's on the inside. We have lots of toxins building up in our systems and they have to be cleaned out on the inside and that will reflect on the outside. The blemishes, rashes, acne, etc are indications that your body is reacting to what you're eating, to stress, toxins, chemicals, hormones... literally a great number of things.
Basically what I did in a nutshell was clean out my system by taking out the processed and junk foods, and added as much fresh fruits and vegetables to my diet as possible. This part is key. I also started drinking a lot of water daily, starting with 3 or 4 glasses when I wake up (adding a squeeze of fresh lemon at times). I also got more active every day, walking, running, sports, jumping, whatever, just getting active. It not only gave me more energy, it help flush out the toxins that were clogging up my system.

Question: How do I get rid of acne in about 2 weeks? I'm starting eighth grade in two weeks and it's suppose to be the biggest year for me but the problem Is that I have bad acne problems and i'm really stressing out about if it's gonna go away in time. I can't buy anymore acne cleansers or stuff but I still have this one bottle left for acne that might help. It's called Arnaud. But what can I do to make my acne go away in two weeks without buying anything else. Please please help!
Answer: Benzoyl peroxide works well, if you use lots of it, but you would have to buy it. You also need to relax, because stress causes acne. Stop consuming milk products. Bathe every day. Stop eating junk food. Start eating fish (not tons of it, just eat fish regularly). Eat lots of greens. Don't eat sugar or grains (avoid anything that contains gluten, just in case). The milk thing is really important... if you drink it, stop.
Question: What is the best acne product to use in my situation? The past year I've been using Pro Active and it has cleared up my skin but then it stopped curing my skin when I had little acne left. I didn't have a lot of acne left so I thought i would try and use Murad. I have used it for a month and I'm getting more acne. I get a lot of whiteheads out of no where like everyday.
Answer: I would try going to Facial Excellence and reading a bit. That site has information on all types of acne.

Question: How does acne form and how do I get rid of them? My mom keeps saying that its because I'm dirty and that I dont wash my fash good. I used a cleanser and srub everyday. I used to have acne long time ago too but then I started using proactive and it got better. My skin was really good and I thought I didnt have to use Proctive anymore. Like 2-3 days after I started seeing my acne. I didnt want use Proactive again cus I heard it can damage yur skin and it has a chemica in it that makes your skin addicted to it. So what should i do?
Answer: well my sister said that rubbing achocol gets ride of her acne really good
Question: What is the best acne treatment out there that is suited for me? I have moderate acne and a few acne scars on my face, chest, back, and shoulders. I am in serious need of the best acne treatment out there. Please help!
I was thinking of using Clearpores for my problem. Can I also have your opinions on it, too? Thanks.
Answer: It depends on the type of acne. Talk to a dermatologist. But what worked for me was tanning. 5 minutes in a tanning bed three times a week took care of most of my acne, especially on the back, chest, and shoulders. my dermatologist prescribed differin gel for my face and it worked to.
Question: How can i get rid of acne, without drying out my skin? I am a twelve year old girl. I get acne mostly on my forehead (mainly between my eyebrows), near my nose and on my chin. My nose is really oily too, i dont know why! I have used nutregena oil-free acne wash, nutregena rapid clear, and clearasil daily face wash, but all of them either did nothing, or made my acne worse, or dried out my skin! Right now all i am doing is washing my face with plain soap daily. It helps somewhat. My mom wotn let me use any zit cream or anything, only face washes, because she says the other stuff will dry out my skin. What is some things i can do to get rid of my oily skin and acne without drying out my skin?. Nothign too expensive, i cant afford proactive or any of that stuff. preferably natural.
Answer: Applying lavander essential oil works wonders. I didn't really believe it until someone reccomded I try it instead of the standard on the shelf stuff.
Besides that, I have found the following things matter and tend to effect acne.
1) Eating sugar (and artifical ones). If you eat no sugar your predispotion to acne drops a lot. Mine completely vanished when I did.
2) Eating greasy fried food (aka fast food). I noticed I was able to feel outbreaks coming on as I ate the stuff. I think sugar matters more though.
3) Getting rid of hair covering the face (so beards, sideburns, or long curly hair that gets to your cheaks). I don't know why this one matters but it does.
4) Washing the face with water from a shower. The more you wash it the better it gets. However, chlorine which is in all tap water irritates it as well, so if you get the chance to get a chlorine shower filter that goes a long way to fixing your skin (and hair).
There are some other anecdotal things I am not sure of in anyway about acne, but I'd leave it as; if you are generally healthy then you will not get acne, so most of the time its best to just think of acne as an indictator for your body. Then again its a pretty awful one to deal with, and I went through a lot of grief before I figured out what I just told you.
Question: How do I get rid of acne scarring after my acne is gone? I used to have really bad acne that covered basically my whole face, mostly my cheeks. I still get zits that pop up now and then, but its totally manageable. Now, the problem I'm having is that I have a bunch of scarring left over on my cheeks from the acne I used to have. I have been using the ProActiv 3-step system and i also have been using ProActiv's skin lightening lotion, though i havent noticed much of an improvement. I dont have any deep scarring or anything, but its about moderate. I hate having these marks on my face and ive been trying to get rid of them for a while. Is there any easy-enough solution to getting rid of moderate acne scarring without having to get involved in surgical processes such as dermabrasion?
Answer: Acne can be very mild, resulting in a few lone blemishes, or it can be severe when it occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and back. Pustules and deeper cysts occur with very severe acne and scarring may result if the condition is not cared for properly. These scars may be visible for a lifetime. Here's what your can do to prevent these scars from forming, and treat them if they do develop.
Preventing Acne Scars
Never pick or squeeze acne blemishes. This can lead to the spread of acne and the development of acne scars. Instead, there are a number of treatment methods that can be used to care for acne and prevent the development of scars. Herbs such as chamomile, lavender, juniper, bergamot, dandelion root, Echinacea, poke root, witch hazel, and burdock root can be used to reduce toxicity, improve the skin's condition and treat acne. Vitamin supplements can also be helpful as vitamins A, C, E and B6 are vital for healthy skin. Also, avoid exposing your skin to the sun's rays. Initially, sun exposure may dry out an acne blemish, but over time, unprotected sun exposure can damage the skin and further aggravate problem acne.
Types of Acne Scars
Medical professionals have developed a acne scarring classification system that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of many acne scars. Scars may be classified as ice pick, boxcar, or rolling.
Acne Scars - Ice pick
As their name implies, ice pick acne scars are thin, sharp scars. The skin looks as though it has been sliced with an ice pick. These scars are narrow, but deep, extending into the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer.
Acne Scars - Boxcar
Unlike ice pick scars, boxcar scars do not taper to a point. Instead, they are round pits that have sharp vertical edges. Skin resurfacing techniques such as dermabrasion or laser resurfacing may be used to treat shallow boxcar scars. Deeper scars require full-thickness treatment techniques.
Acne Scars - Rolling
Rolling scars appear to have a rolling or undulating texture. They are the result of folds in the skin to the subcutaneous tissue below. Rolling scars must be treated by breaking up the fibrous bands that are causing the skin to fold or roll. Subcutaneous incision is the method most commonly used to treat this condition.
Acne Scar Treatment
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers such as fat, collagen, hyaluronic acid derivatives, and polytheyl-methacrylate microspheres with collagen can be injected into acne scars to raise the surface of the skin and give a smoother look. The injection of dermal fillers does not permanently correct acne scars. The results are temporary, so further injections are necessary.
Punch Excision
Deep acne scars such as ice pick and deep boxcar scars can be treated with the punch excision method. This procedure uses a punch biopsy tool that looks similar to a round, sharp cookie-cutter. It comes in diameters ranging from 1.5 mm to 3.5 mm, and the correct size can be chosen to match the size of the scar. Local anesthesia is used to remove the scar tissue and suture the edges together. If a new scar should develop in the old one's place, it will now be easier to treat with a skin resurfacing technique.
This technique can also be performed with a skin graft, where the scarred skin is removed and that area is filled with a skin graft taken from behind the ear. Some kind of skin resurfacing technique will still likely be needed to correct any differences in the skin's color and texture.
Punch Elevation
This method of surgically correcting acne scars uses the same punch tool that is used in the punch excision method. It is used on deep boxcar scars that have sharp edges and normal appearing bases. With the punch elevation method, the base of the scar is excised leaving the walls of the scar intact. The excised base is then sutured to the surface of the skin to fill the void. There are fewer incidences of color and texture differences with this technique and less chance of developing another visible scar.
Subcutaneous Incision
Rolling scars can be treated with subcutaneous incision. This method is used to break up the fibrous bands that cause the skin to roll or appear undulated. Local anesthesia is inserted under the skin with a special beveled needle that remains parallel to the skin's surface. The needle is then used to gently cut the fibrous bands with a piston like motion. Bruising is likely to occur with this method, but it will usually fade in about one week.
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing is a popular treatment used to cure many skin defects. Carbon dioxide and YAG lasers are the two most common types used for the laser resurfacing of acne scars. Using the controlled beam of a laser, the top layer of skin is burned to a precise depth. The skin then heals itself by replacing the lost skin with new skin.

Question: What is the best acne scar removal treatment? I have dark scars/spots from previous acne. I am tired of having to wear so much make-up to cover it up! I dont get acne that often anymore, but I do have oily skin. I've tried pro-active and other on the spot acne treatments but they don't fade my scars at all.

Question: What are some good Acne therapy cleansers and moisturizers for my skin? I have fair skin that is pretty light, I've been using neutragena complete acne therapy system and It has worked pretty well at clearing up my acne but I still hav really red and dry skin. What are some good products that I can use that will keep my acne away but keep my skin moisturized and not red?
Answer: Sounds funny, but I have used plain ol' Clean and Clear Deeping cleanser in a dark blue and green bottle and the stuff works awesomely!
Question: What is the best inexpensive acne cleanser? I have acne on my forehead and a bit on my chin. Its all in the T zone :P
What is the best acne cleanser for acne and blackheads that wouldnt cost over 10$ in Canada?
Much appreaciated,
thanks.
Answer: I've used tons of different acne products and most only work for a few weeks or so. The best thing that I've found is to wash your face twice a day with a scrub, use a spot treatment, and also drinking tons of water and taking vitamin c pills because they help to rid your body of toxins and such. They also help build your immune system and keep you from getting sick
Question: What is a good everyday acne system to use? I used to have moderate to severe acne. I cleared most of it up with Clinique's acne system, but I'm looking for one that will completely clear my breakouts. What have you tried? What has been the best you have used? I have somewhat sensitive skin, so a slightly milder or more natural system would be better. Are there any tricks to completely clearing acne?
Answer: There is Skin id, but i havent tried that one but i have a homeremedie
get a cup of rice
put it in a bowl with water doesnt matter how many
let it sit over night
drain the rest of the water put it in a blender grind it till its smooth
then add a lemon stirr it
the put it in the freezer for 25 min the
wash ur face and has to be dry
put it on like a mask then leave it on for 30min wash off with medium hot water
see results in a week
Question: When you start a new acne treatment, should your acne get worse before it gets better? OK so I just started using this new acne medicine last night. It's not proactive but it's just like it. I've read that your acne will get worse before it gets better. Is this true? And if so, why? Is it because it brings the bacteria to the surface?
Oh, and if it does get worse before it gets better, should I pop the pimples or should I let the medicine do it's trick?
Answer: It's different for everyone. You need to find a face wash and stick with it. The best way to get rid of it is to wash your face twice a day with a wash that has a high content of salcylic acid. Before you wash, fill a sink with hot water and steam your face. That will help to open up your pores and let the medicine in to work. And most importantly, keep your hands away from your face except to wash it!
Question: How does oral medication for acne know how to clear up the area? I have a minor acne problem on my chin and the corner of mouth. I recently went to the dermatologist to find out how to get rid of it. She prescribed oral medication that treats acne. My question is how does the oral medicine know where the acne is and how does it clear it up? I guess I'm just really skeptical about this whole thing. Thanks!
Answer: The medicines are antibiotics. They get rid of all the bad bacteria in your body. This will also get rid of acne because acne is caused by bacteria.
